It means little to me, but more knowledgeable people understand. If anyone can help I would know you more. I have been using flash drives for my impressions, but it would be nice to be able to print a page or two from time to time.

  If the printer is connected USB to the Windows 7 computer, what you can do is share the network (assuming that the XP computer is also connected to the same network). In this way the XP machine can see the printer on Windows 7 computer and install it. The only downside is that the Windows 7 computer must be on for the XP computer can view and print to it.   I have a c6380, which is about two weeks old. Setup worked fine when I put it on the wireless network and everything is ok.

  I installed the software on a vista pc which is connected by cable to my router from sky. This shows very well.

  I installed the software on a computer vista laptop that is wireless and prints well.

  I also have a computer laptop xp. It is also wireless. The software installed without problem. See the printer etc. However, when I try and print, the printer makes noise and pulls the paper, then the screen says it's printing and then nothing happens. The printer stays like that and eventually the laptop shows a failure to print the message. The document remains in the print queue before deletion, and I have to press Cancel on the printer. If I plug the printer with a usb cable for this laptopit prints without problem.

  I ping the printer wireless froom the laptop xp and access the admin screen. It also shows as a network drive in my computer.

  I uninstalled the software that came with the printer, downloaded the hp software to ensure that it is up-to-date and re installed.

  I put the printer with a static ip address.

  I restarted the router as well.

  The router uses a channel 11 broadcast key, wpa - psk and is set to g & b modes.

  Now, it's really really frustrating because the computer laptop xp my wife, is the main reason why we bought a wirelsss printer because she is a teacher and done loads of printing.

  I'm pretty good with pc / networks etc but have now run out of ideas.

  Can someone help me please?

  The answer has been upgraded from SP2 to SP3.

  Probably should have thought about that a little bit earlier!

  1. do you have HTC Manager installed on the computer?

  2. have you tried it with different USB ports?

  You need the HTC Sync HTC phone Manager software.

  Method 1: Try again with different USB ports and see if that helps.

   

  Method 2: If HTC Sync is installed, if you get the message "no device connected" in HTC Sync, ensure that your phone USB setting is changed to "Charge Only" to "HTC Sync".

  Nevermind - I seem to have solved the problem with a simple firmware. Funny how the Linksys technician support don't think to ask what version of the router I have or suggest that I should try to upgrade firmware first.   My Officejet 4500 G510a worked fine with my Windows 7 computer.  For my new computer Windows 8, I downloaded the HP driver and print and copy fine but will not scan.  It is connected by USB cable.  Windows Fax and Scan does not scan, or painted.  I uninstalled all the HP software and reinstalled twice still cannot scan. Each time, after you have reinstalled the driver, he begins to scan and hangs up with a part of the preview showing.  I received a message "HP cue scanning flow component has stopped working".  I ran HP print and scan doctor and he hangs up in the pilot audit section and will not go further. Any help would be appreciated

  Very interesting that moving to another port USB changed behavior.   You have all the other USB devices connected to the computer as well?   If so, don't remove the behavior change?

  You happen to have access to a USB 2.0 hub any?  Often if there is problems with the USB ports or the USB chipset on a system, putting a hub USB 2.0 between the device and the calculation can solve or improve connectivity.

  The Officejet 4500 G510G isn't a wireless model. You can connect the printer with an Ethernet cable to your router. Follow the steps below to download and install the drivers Win 8 for your new laptop computer.

  Page drivers Canon MultiPASS F50 & the downloads shows nothing for Windows 7 (or even for Vista), so I doubt that it works.

  Microsoft Office XP is not compatible with Windows 7.  Office 2003 and Office 2007 are.
