  Hi hykwei,

  Unfortunately, it is not possible to obtain the MATLAB Script nodes to work
  LabVIEW under your current network configuration. So that the
  Node MATLAB Script to work properly, it takes that MATLAB is
  installed on the same machine as LabVIEW. This means that you will need
  either install MATLAB on the local computer on which you apply
  LabVIEW or you need install and use LabVIEW in the same
  Server computer where MATLAB is installed. Function of MATLAB
  feature, you may be able to make some sort of minimum installation on the
  local machine that adds MATLAB to your registry and program files list,
  but who sends you right to the copy of MATLAB on the network.
  However, I am not aware if it is still an option or how you could go
  on the implementation of this scheme, so if you are interested, I would contact with
  MATLAB for more on this topic.

  I have a multiple basic computer, except a very processor that is only designed to run on one heart program (maybe you have heard of him; Dwarf Fortress. Otherwise, it is not really necessary, but good). Now I wonder, how can I set the program to run only on a single heart, whenever I start it? I have a shortcut on my desktop, so if it is not possible to change the parameters of the program or other stuff like in Windows itself, I don't have the ability to change the shortcut to make it work on a carrot.

  Since given as each program/software is configured differently to work on mulit or transformation of a nucleus there is nothing that Vista can do to change that.  You need to change something in the formula of the show itself.  I enclose a link below which talks about this issue.  Please let me know if you have any other questions.

• MathScript instability with large Matlab scripts? (Labview 8.5.1)

  I the student of LabView 8.5.1 version and experiences a lot of instability when you use Mathscript in Labview (the Mathscript block or the Mathscript window), but only when it comes to the larger scripts. The Matlab script is about 250 lines long and 16 KB of size and in this framework, are seven large paintings (six 14 x 8, built at the beginning and a 1000 x 9 which is built in a loop for, so increases with each iteration until 1000 lines). I find that whenever I have modify the script in the Mathscript node or the Mathscript window will freeze and hang for at least 10 minutes, sometimes totally crashing Labview Labview. As I wrote the script in Matlab, I'll have to debug in Labview and know what commands in Matlab do not work in Mathscript/Labview, so it's obviously pretty infuriating to have the program regularly hang for 10 minutes at a time.

  The computer I use is a desktop Packard Bell 5 year with 768 MB of Ram (less 32 MB integrated graphics card), running XP Pro. The processor is an Intel Celeron 2.6 GHz. I appreciate this isn't the best specced machine ever, but at the time it was all I could afford!

  Is this common suspended a little problem with Labview and Mathscript file ".m" large, or is manipulation - this purely down to my old computer?

  The delay that you experience is a problem with the big scripts in MathScript.  The delay increases exponentially with the length of the script.  For this reason, we recommend disaggregation great scripts and files ".m" in rooms separated by about 40 lines.  On faster computers, you can find the acceptable period for up to 100 lines.

• Using the table as a MATLAB script for entry into a Subvi - labview crashes

  I have problems in creating a Subvi, which includes a matlab file that has a table as input.

  I created a VI, who runs a simple matlab script, with a table as an input and a table as output. It worked well, until I assigned the terminals in order to to use as a Subvi.

  After that the terminals have been assigned, labview crashes instantly when you run the file.

  I also created a VI to test the Subvi, but I couldn't make it work at all, labview always crashed...

  Does anyone know a solution to my problem? They only thing I can think is to not use it as a Subvi, but then my master file will get huge as all the matlab code would be in there...

  This is indeed a bug, unfortunately. Currently followed by using identification number of the 446431 cause. The question arise when moving from an array of doubles in the Script node. The only 'solution' at the present time is to use an array of singles instead. We are currently looking to identify a fix.

  I control my physical robot with labview and my rio. I also have a matlab (m.file) code that uses it the Robotics Toolbox in Matlab. I would like to add this m.file to my labview program. Can I create a matlab script in the program labview and matlab code inside and deploy code to myrio? It will work in this case?

  AFAIK, the nodes in script call script software MATLAB server to run scripts written in MATLAB language syntax. But I don't know about adding my rio to the loop.

• Output of a Matlab script

  Hello everyone

  I work on a project for school and had a question regarding the output of a Matlab Script node. I have data that is stored in the form T(:,:,i) is 3D data which are calculated in the script.

  The main thing I want to do is output, so I can graph on a façade of Labview. I want to display an image in 2d with a third dimension represented as points on the 2d image. (2d space with the 3rd dimension in temperature).

  It would not make sense why I am doing this in Labview but I have a set built for Labview GUI and it is an extract of things I want to show. I included a file for special graphics, I am trying to show in the end.

  I'm sorry I am still learning the ropes of Labview.

  Here is a link that shows how to send a table to 3 dimensions of LabVIEW, but you should be able to easily change the schema in the article to go through the process.  In the article, the first table of auto-index 3D of the sample code to assign a T(:,:,i) within the script environment.  LabVIEW then uses another script node to deal with 3-Dimensional table built.

  You can enable this process.  Off the first script thread knot out the length of the 3rd dimension and which feed the Terminal N of a loop for.  In the place the script node loop that reads T(:,:,i) and outputs the 2D from the node table.  You can plug this on loop for and autoindexing should create the 3D chart in LabVIEW.  From terminal N is the length of the 3rd dimension.  The table resulting in LabVIEW must be identical.

  Hey beauzhang,

  I hope that you are well today. It certainly seems that we lack in some problems with the different sources and data types of wells. LVM VI Express load you have emerged from a table of waveforms. So we would need to do a few things. First of all, we need to ignore the range of interests, and we must get the waveform data elements table.

  I have provided an example of how we can extract the waveform in position 0 of the table and then pass the array of data values to the script node Y. I have configured the entry of the data of a table 1 d Reals node (by adding an entry and then the right of entry and select choose data type.)

  If you are interested in getting the values Y and build the table like you did in the script, you need to implement a different subset of table and looping mechanism in LabVIEW code to move each item to the script individually. However, I would recommend working with the entry level instead.

• 2012 LabVIEW and Matlab script server error

  I just installed LV 2012 and upgrade the code that runs Matlab scripts. Now when I run it, it gives me an error of server script (1047). I'm using Matlab 2007. Someone at - it the same problem? Anyone know of a solution?

  I guess it has to do with the server script does not properly. But I can't exactly run the same code in LV 2011 without problem while LV 2012 gives me an error. Same computer, etc.

  Thank you "transfererror", this helped me identify workaround.

  For those who struggle with this, that's what I learned:

  1. This affects only the variables that are passed in a sub - VI in the connector pane (that is, local variables are not connected to the connector pane apparently do not have this problem).

  2. it seems to only affect as vectors 1 d or 2D paintings. The reason why the screws inserted by Sev_K example applies to this problem is that the types of data that are not arrays do not have this problem.

  3. Thus, to solve my problem, I inserted just an addition of 0 to all vectors and matrices that have been passed in the Sub - VI. I guess what it doesn't copy the variable in a local buffer and it is perhaps the reason why he fix it?

  In any case, workaround seems to work. I don't know what it costs in terms of speed or memory, but I do not have much about it for my application (some real-time applications that use Matlab scripts eventually consider it).

• Error 1050 trying to use load 'filename' in matlab script node

  I get error 1050 when Labview is trying to load a text via the node of matlab script file.

  I have all ready checked for her on this forum and google but found nothing. I also did this: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/2B3FF46C8512C4F786256CF30071BE53 and tried to use dlmread and much more.

  The thing is that I need the node matlab script for reading a txt file that Labview made a chart with 1 single table, draw the it and export a jpg image. I can't really use the 'export picture' or 'get image' function for cause of Labview, I need the whole route chart (these functions only take a snapshot of it when they are run).

  The usual matlab load to load txt files and print to print the jpeg format. The code works in matlab, but not in labview

• Permission denied error when you use the Matlab script

  When I run the now from Matlab everything works fine. When I run this LabVIEW so I get the following error:

  Parameters.m: Could not open the file: permission denied.

  I use Matlab 2015 and LAbview 2015 in a 64-bit windows computer 7.

  Any help would be really appreciated.

  For those who have the same permission denied errors, I found the solution.

  I had to specify the current working directory in the matlab script (this is the directory to which you saved your LAbview VI).

  For example, if you have saved your labview vi to C:\Example_Folder

  then you must add the following command in your matlab script node before the command that causes the error

  CD (' c:/Example_Folder')

  I'm doing a simple acquisition of a VISA connected multimeter voltage feed voltage reading (it is a picture, but I only feed the frist for this example element, until I managed to make it work) and use a MatLab script with a build-in function to trace this tension. I get an error and I don't know why... Can anyone help?

  P.S. I know I can do this simply and easily everything in LabView, but as a result of specific class, I have to do interfacing between LabView and MatLab.

  Hey everyone, managed to fix it myself. Apparently need to sit and read the documentation on the MATLAB script more carefully. The function that I used was not recognized, I guess... or the MatLab server is not able to run it. However, I simply removed the function and the script automatically recognizes the values for the variables of interest, powered 4 from the LabView code.

  on the help page Labview titled "Setting up the data type of the script node terminals", there is a line that says "because the MathScript node behaves differently that other nodes in script, you cannot change the data type of input terminals. Instead, if wire you a data type not supported for input on a node MathScript, LabVIEW converts the data type to a supported type or displays a cut wire. If LabVIEW converts the data type, a point constraint appears on the terminal where takes place the conversion. After that wire you an entry to a MathScript node, right-click the input terminal and select Show data of Type from the context menu to see the data type of the entry. »

  I don't understand this.

  I want to do math on arrays / vectors using mathscript. This means that I need input terminals in order to have a table data type.

  Say for example I have A [1 2 3 4 5] = (perhaps from a table of average data for 5 different channels) and say that I want to B = a ^ 2 (using the matlab syntax) - I can do this with a mathscript node?

  If this isn't the case, means that I can't do any math vector/matrix using the mathscript node? given that the whole point of matlab is to work on vectors and matrices, if mathscript node cannot do what it would also be a severe limitation.

  Yes, you can use arrays in a MathScript node. Just create an entry on the node, give it a name and a value of table of wire to this entry.

• LabVIEW 8.6.1 AMD Multi Core Crash with call loops

  Hi all

  I tried, but I couldn't find all the messages with my exact situation.  Here it goes:

  I have a multi-core AMD Phenom 64 processor and I'm running Windows 7 64 and I am running an application in LabVIEW 8.6.1 in compatibility mode.  (I know, not a good idea)  I have a pretty complex application with several timed loops and the different ways to talk to FieldPoint (FieldPoint 6.0.6 and experimentation with Modbus talk to cFP-180 x).  You may be wondering why I'm using call loops.  It is an application of RT which can also run on Windows using structures conditional disable, etc.

  I had met sporadic crashing earlier in my files executable for more than a year and used a lvalarms.dll in only patched version my executables.  It was on a totally different processor and we were running Vista at that time.  Now, I notice a very similar behavior on 8.6.1, except now the development environment all crashes or breaks down my executable compiled as well.

  I found this KB, but he was referring to problems observed on LabVIEW 8.5, and the utility of the OS is only for Windows XP.  As recommended in the KB, I used BCDEdit to set the flag onecpu and now everything seems to work normally.  My PC is now significantly slower, however, and I wonder if there is another workaround solution that I might be able to try.

  If you have read so far and who have followed my description you already have my gratitude.  If anyone else has experienced this?  Someone at - it ideas?

  Alright.  In case someone else runs into this apparently dark scenario, here's workaround solutions I've found:

  1. see if the problem goes away by setting the processor affinity using the Task Manager. Open the Task Manager, look under the "Processes" tab and right-click on the process. (for example LabVIEW.exe or your executable)  Under the context menu which select "set affinity...". "and select only the CPU 0.  In my case, I have a quad-core processor, so I up to four logical processors that are displayed in the dialog box that results.

  Run your application code or the executable file for a while, and if everything seems to be stable, it would seem that you have isolated the problem successfully.

  2. one of the solutions is to disable additional logical processors for the entire operating system, although there may be negative implications on performance.  In this case, try the steps in the lower part of this KB.  I have Windows 7, so I used the utility of command-line bcdedit with no problems.

  3. Finally, a really interesting option that is well worked for me should automatically set the affinity of the processor for each individual process.  There is at least a utility available to achieve this.  I've now changed my LabVIEW 8.6 shortcut to call RunFirst, which sets the processor affinity for LabVIEW to automatically use the first logical processor.  This way I can still use my processor image for all it's worth except in applications that have problems with it.

  I hope this helps someone else out there one day.
