Max memory upgrade question

What is memory addressable max for XP Home Edition?

4 GB is the maximum taken in charge, 'accessible to your programs' lies between 2.5 and 3.75 GB - with all that above 3.25 GB being questionable.

Though - most of the people who have Windows XP Home will probably never use even a 1 GB full - even with a shared memory video card.

  • 9150 memory Upgrade - Question once again

    Good day to all,

I have 2, Dimension 9150 who receive upgrades. The first machine was fine with OS WIN 7 / 32 PRO. Updated BIOS (A07), not installed the required software, no problem, everything no problem. RAID driver install also, no problem. Problem I have is the memory upgrade. Get machine 2 update, but not until this problem is resolved.

Been revised post old topic of memory and still has not found an absolute remedy to my question. Machine (1 and 2) are 2 GB; 4 512 PC2-4200 (all locations showing on bios config).  I installed 4; 1 GB PC2-5300. Problem? Must not like system accepts 4 GB maximum and is also accepted speed Max.

My problem is 2 GB in slot 1-2 (white) are good, no problems (boots to windows without error beeps). Check the BIOS and find sticks of memory are reading fix it. When I add the other 2 sticks of 3-4 (black), error on boot beeps and lights 1-3 lights telling me memory error.

I recently updated a dimension 4700 and used memory not dell Komputer Bay. Could see all the modules and showed 3.76, so I bought the same memory for this machine. I know that in the past, Dell machines are "FINICKY" when it comes to memory.

Is this the case? If so, Crucial memory has been discussed and I might add 2 (2 GB each)? That's what I was not able to see the answers. Part of the crucial says Yes, post only memory. The other Yes was that I could use sticks of 2 GB. Spec note 1 GB is max stick, per slot.

I am at a loss, if you're looking for an idea on a direction.

Yes, low density 2 rank INTEL chipset compatible ram works fine. The other way to say it isn't that 380 Precsion ecc ram works fine.   The GX620 has the same problem where we will see more ram by the bios but total ram is limited to 4 concerts by the chipset.  Upgrade to a precision 380 allows a full 8 gigabytes of ram.

You could put 4 x 2 gig and he would show even in the bios but the ram would not be usable and the machine does not start with 64 bit OS.

  • Tecra 720cdt: memory upgrade question

I'm looking for 1 oiece 128 MB of memory (MAX)? for my 720cdt. Can someone help me as to a place that I can get this or does anyone have good used sweater, that they no longer need.
Just tell me what you need.

    Thank you

    Garth

Wow, that's a really an oldie.
To my knowledge it s about 10 years.
What do you what to do on this old notebook?

In any case, I remember that the slot of memory could be at the bottom of the unit.
Am I wrong? In addition, you can use module max memory 128 MB and the memory can be upgraded to 144 MB. Why? Because as far as I know that this unit should have internal 16 MB memory and it cannot be removed.

I searched a bit on the net and found information that this module memory must be compatible:
    PA2046U 128 MB

These modules you should be able to order the Toshiba service partner in your country.

  • Max Memory Upgrade for Pavilion a810y

How can I find the AMT of max memory I can put in my Pavilion a810y?  It of sites that say 4 GB and other telling that to 2 GB.  Is the real answer please stand up.

    Hello:

Your PC would have the Intel 915 chipset.

If the motherboard has no memory, each with 1 GB of memory, 2 slots then you're at the max.

Locations of Intel 915 chipset memory cannot manage more than 1 GB of memory.

The crucial memory upgrade link I posted said your PC had 4 locations of memory, so that the info is wrong.

If you upgrade to W7, I recommend you only go with the 32-bit version on your PC.

A 64-bit system requires more disk space and memory to run as a 32-bit system doesn't work - not double, but, with only 2 GB of memory, a 32 bit OS will perform a little better that will be a 64 bit OS, but who is to you.

  • HP Probook b 6450 memory upgrade question

    Hi all

I seem to have a strange question seeks to upgrade the memory in a HP 6450 b probook (i5 - 480 m & ATI card). The laptop came with 2 GB of sps p/n 598856-002, which is ram 1333 mhz 1.5V with the manufacturer being ramaxel. I ordered and installed a few sticks of kingston 4 GB

    http://h30094.www3.HP.com/product/SKU/10473659/mfg_partno/KTH-X3BS/4G

Mounted to them and all appeared to be as well as the operating system (win 7 32 bit pro) showed the recognized as 8 GB stick and 3 GB usable, the bios also reported 8 GB as well. However the moment that a 64 bit OS (Linux or Windows) is tempted to run just the laptop falls down or crashes

I already tried this upgrade with two sticks of crucial memory but had exactly the same problem, so think about crucial memory was the question I put to the supplier and ordered the kingstons rather.

I saw very similar question mentioned here:

    http://www.TomsHardware.co.UK/Forum/328016-30-memory-upgrade-ProBook

    and

    http://superuser.com/questions/580512/HP-ProBook-6450b-not-booting-after-memory-upgrade

My instinct suggests this notebook can be very picky about the memory chips, it may have to be a 4 GB key 16 chip versus chip 8 4 GB sticks.

Thoughts and help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    You are the very welcome.

Yes, I have never, ever install any module of memory in my notebooks from HP that does not 16 chips.

All the chips I use - 2 gigs and up, have 16 chips (8 on each side).

    Never had a problem.

  • HP 21-2014: HP 21-2014 in a computer, Ram memory upgrade question

Hello, I have a HP 21 2014 all in one computer. He now has 4 GB Ram memory and an AMD processor. I was wondering how it would be possible to increase the Ram up to 8 GB. Is there a certain number of model or brand of Ram do I need to buy? I looked a few things on Frys Electronics, but obviously I'm naïve. I really want to upgrade memory because I have some games which really lag on this computer, even if it is new, and I know it takes more may work properly. I wanted to see if someone can point me in the right direction. Price is not really a problem, I just want to know what would be a better job for this specfic HP model. Thank you!

  • Dv6t 2000 CTO Entertainment Notebook with i7 processor 72QM to Max memory upgrade?

I have a dv6t with i7 720 m build processory about 3 years ago. I think there clarksfield CPU. I have a 2 x 2 gig installed for total of 4gig from the original version.   I wonder (assuming that Win 7 64 bit family premium that takes in charge until 16gig), this laptop only supports 8gig?  I ran a tool and it has a reference to logic/Chipset memory banks maximum installable memory of 32gig and a reference to the controller memory memory install Max 8gig.  So, what gives? The laptop will support the sticks of memory 2x8gig or just the sticks of memory 2x4gig?  The laptop DV6T 2000 CTO Entertainment.  If it supports 16 gig, I would just buy one of the sticks 8gig rather than 2x4gig. And maybe try to use 2 concerts with the 8gig send me a 10gig for now... or just wait to see if I need a 2nd 8gig.  And an upgrade of the bios will support the 16 gig?

I thought I would update my own question with the truth and the response of work that hopefully someone other than stubmles help in this.  But in a nutshell the CTO of 2000 models DV6t you could order 2009 about DO DO support 16gig and NOT only 8 GB. I have 2 slots. I have the quad 720QM first edition, yes first edition. The Intel site and the sites of Auditor memory are FALSE!  The saying has been 1st gen Quad cpu supports no more than 2x4gig = 8gigs.  In fact, one of my tools suggests that I can put in up to 32gig assuming I can find sticks of memory 2 x 16gig I don't even think is still for sale not to mention affordability. Spread the word because I hope this helps others. I bought memory to geek and thought that I would be lucky since I read several comments and observations at various locations, which suggests that they were trying to 16gig and indeed he has worked for the 720QM processor.  I did have to update my BIOS HP offers that I have to install to 2010ish, as opposed to the 4 or so that are available today for my model, but I think that have been updated to support my model didn't require much more. I carried out memory tests too in 5 iterations without problem, and in fact it starts immediately without any problem with WIN 7 home premium, recognizing the sticks. I also checked the CPU64z tool for the memory tab.

  • Satellite A105-S4064: memory upgrade Questions

    Hello

I plan on upgrading the ram in my Toshiba A105-S4064 (preinstalled with 512 MB). I wanted to discover a few questions, if I could.

First of all, what RAM would be compatible to install in housing, no?

Second, the size of the new RAM should be the same as the RAM that is already installed (in other words, 512 MB)?

In addition, only adding the new RAM to a laptop invalid warranty Toshiba?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Hello

I see that you have several questions about upgrading memory on your A105
OK I'll try to make the best, I hope ;)

Firstly you can upgrade the memory and the warranty still valid
Upgrading memory hasn t any bad influence on the validity of the guarantee

Second, you can mix the sizes of memory. … for example, you can use 256 + 512 or 512 + 1024 MB, etc.
This is possible because you can upgrade it to 4 GB max

And now finally something you kind of compatible modules it looks like you could use a DDR2 PC2-4200 533 MHz modules

I hope this info will help you :)

  • Equium A60-692: memory upgrade question

Hi, I want to improve my memory. I wanted to add a memory of 1 GB on the extra slot but I wanted to be sure that I'm looking for, I don't know much about it and I want to ensure I have buy one that is compatible with everything. If someone knows something about this answer please.
    Thank you

    Hello

Well, you're first time here in the forum ;) Welcome!

Now to your question. AFAIK the Equium A60-692 was delivered with an internal memory of 256 MB. This module cannot be deleted.
Additional memory location is available and you can upgrade the memory for max 1280MB (256 MB + 1024 MB) in this case, you can use a 1 024 MB module.

You use PC2100 DDR - RAM memory modules.
Also, I found one that you can use without any problems. The reference is: 1024Mo PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

  • Max Memory upgrade for Satellite L750-1RJ

I heard that the updated bios to 3.60 will support more memory? So I've updated, but when I tested it on the main website, it shows only 8 GB ram max.

My processor is an i3 2330 m and on the Web site intel 16 GB ram is the maximum.
Buy a kit of memory 2x8gb? This will be compatible with my laptop?

    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

As I know the update of the BIOS will not increase possibility of RAM and it depends on the chipset. According to specification for laptop, that your laptop can be upgraded up to 8 GB and no more than as long as the use of modules of memory 2x8GB will not work.

If you have a 4 GB module inside just buy another with PA3918U-1M4G part number and you get max 8 GB of RAM in your machine.

  • Tecra M7 memory upgrade question

Hello everyone, I would like to upgrade the RAM on my Tecra M7, which came with 1 GB and is supposed to get a free site available. Since the system's maximum memory is 4 GB, I guess you can use up to 2GB stick into each slot.

My question is: can I have a 1 + 2 GB configuration (with / 3GB in total) or modules should be combined for better performance (1 + 1 GB) DDR2? I read somewhere something memory dual channel working only with identical memory modules, but I'm not an expert so I don't know?

    Any idea anyone?
    RADO

Of course, you can mix the sizes of memory. It s nothing unusual!
You can use different memory module sizes, but you should be 100% sure that both modules supports the same specifications as DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200)

It works fine, but it sometimes run out of memory physics. According to the Toshiba spec for this machine, it should take 1 024 MB of memory, but everywhere I look (including Crucial) said that 512 MB is the max.
I found a few modules of 512 MB of the right type, but they won't work?

Product name: HP Pavilion dv7t-2000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC

    PRODUCT # NB444AV

OSOriginally installed: Windows Vista 64-bit Home Premium

Currently installed OS: Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium

When I bought the laptop, HP included a "FREE upgrade to 4 GB DDR2 memory (2 Dimm) 2 GB DDR2 memory (2 Dimm) system system'. I don't check then. Now, when it is slow, I checked the memory installed by 'Start-> computer-> (right click)-> properties-> installed memory (RAM). It shows that 2 GB.

I'm baffled why it shows only 2 GB of RAM now, when HP was supposed to install 4 GB. In any case, I would like to upgrade memory now.  I have referred to as "HP Pavilion dv7 Entertainment PC. Maintenance and Service Guide "."  He describes the memory Module as:

I can't install module memory 2 x 4 GB to 8 GB? Will it be recognized by the card mother/BIOS/Windows?

Thank you for your expert advice.

    You are the very welcome.

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01689926.PDF

Please see Chapter 4, page 54.

It seems to me that there are two memory slots (one almost on top of the other). Take a look at the illustration.

This is why the memory in Chapter 1 specifications indicate that you can install up to 8 GB of memory (2 x 4 GB).

You can install a single chip PC2-6400 4 GB and leave the one you have in there now.

It comes to the module memory 4 GB good cheaper brand I could find.
