Maximum number of map of VMware ESX 5.0 10 Gbit Ethernet/ISCSI

Can you confirm me, what is the maximum limit of VMware ESX 5.0 10 Gb Ethernet/ISCSI support for single-server map.
We have 2 blade BL460 G7 in Enclouser
We have 4 Emulex Corporation 10 GB NIC and 4 NIC Broadcom Corporation 10 GB installed in it. But it shows only 2 Emulex and 2 Broadcom.
PFA for reference.

Welcome to the community!

Take a look at this screenshot. It shows that the maximum limit of VMware ESX 5.0 cards 10 Gb Ethernet/ISCSI.

  • Minimum number of VMware ESX for a HA cluster

Can someone please detail the minimum number of hosts vsphere required for a HA cluster?

I'm planning an implementation of the VMware farm including a number of ESX hosts that will be split into two groups. The first group will include vsphere servers that are hosting virtual machines NOT required for DR via SRM. The second group will be VMware ESX and VMs protected by SRM.

With respect to the SRM cluster, the number of virtual machines is minimal (5-6 virtual machines) and can run on a host unique vsphere. The thin HA I will include 2 vpshere hosts in this cluster. My question is therefore if 2 VMware ESX is OK for a HA cluster because I'm not sure what should be the minimum number?

    Any guidance is appreciated.

    Thank you

  • VMWare ESX 3.5 - Build number

    Hello

As I discovered, the build number for ESX 3.5 Update 5 is "207095".

Currently, the "213532" version, but I've never installed update 5. Update 4 was installed and would invest it has been updated with Update Manager. So my question is...

VMWare View 4.0 should VMWare ESX 3.5 Update 3 or 4, so in principle, we have 'only' 4 update is installed, but the version number is higher and is in line with the update 5 or greater. So, what's my real condition now? Thanks for help.

Attached document will help you to upgrade the server ESX 3.5 U4 to 3.5 U 5

  • What is the maximum number of data warehouses in a system of Vcenter?

What is the maximum number of data warehouses in a system of Vcenter?

I had a look at highs of configuration in http://www.VMware.com/PDF/vSphere4/R40/vsp_40_config_max.PDF , he lists100 in the section of SMI-S

SMI-S section list max number of ESX host as 100, although it is 300 in the maximum of vcenter server. Should I look for in the section of SMI-S?

Only if you plan to use SMI - if she does not go with the maximum rates for vCenter - and you are correct to look at the number of hosts since it is the ESX hosts that communicate to the SAN not vCenter-

  • ESXi 3.5 maximum number of processors

    Hi all

The maximum configuration or more exactly, I found a table (table 3, page 4) that contains information about the maximum in looking ESXi documentation, calculate for ESX systens.

I would like to know about this line:

"Number of cores per server 32.

This means that the limit for ESXi systens are 32 hearts regardless of the processor how much I runing on my server?

    For example:

A server with xeon quad processors 4 four is equal to a base of sixteen 16 server.

ESXi would work in this server?

Another example (I know that's not possible, but it's just an example):

A server equipped with 8 eight physical processors, a carrot by processor.

ESXi would work in this server?

Resume, I would like to know what is the real maximum limitation of a number of ESXi Server (free ESX edition) of processors (cores).

I just want to be sure about this before buying a server with 4 processors with the cost of the car...

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

  • What is the maximum number of carrots that I can attribute to a RHEL guest?

What is the maximum number of carrots that I can attribute to a RHEL guest? We have a data center by telling us that they can not affect more than 4 cores in the guest OS, even if the guest OS is reliever of suposto the entire physical host (IE, it's the only host on the ESX node).

We have 16 cores on the physical machine, and they tell us, that we can not have more than 4 in total in a single instance of comments.

    4vCPU per guest is max

  • Maximum number of virtual machines by free ESXi hypervisor?

    Community of VMware,

I just installed the free 5.5 ESXi hypervisor and I wonder if the same virtual machine limits apply to the stand-alone scenario as vCenter? Can I run actually 512 VMs? What, if any, is the maximum number of virtual machines, I can run on a free version of ESXi?

From 5.5 ESXi limits most have been removed, but only a limit of 8 vCPU per VM remains. So if I'm wrong, the VM 512 mentioned for each host (see http://www.vmware.com/pdf/vsphere5/r55/vsphere-55-configuration-maximums.pdf) affect the free hypervisor.

    Hello

Change the maximum number of ports on Nexus 1000v vDS online with no distribution?

I'm sure that's what the link

VMware KB: Increase in the maximum number of vNetwork Distributed Switch (vDS) ports in vSphere 4.x

    not to say that

I have 5.1 ESXi and vcenter

    Thank you

There is no downtime when you change quantity "vmware max-ports" a port profile. It can be done during production.

You can also create a new profile of port with a test of the virtual machine and change the "vmware max-ports' If you want warm and ferrets.

  • Maximum number of virtual disk for a virtual machine in vSphere 4.1

I read the maximum record rate and see that the maximum number of virtual disk is 16 for FT.

I have the same document I seem not to be able to see the number max of virtual disk that can be taken in charge for a virtual machine.

The number will be the same as the number of LUNS per host which is 256?  I know the max is for the host, but that be will come the number of Director to the total number of virtual disk that can be supported in the virtual machine?

In fact, in a logic unit number, we can have more than one data store that can be mapped to a virtual disk.

    I'm confused.

Thank you and have a nice week,

    Anthony.

If I am not mistaken, you can attach up to 60 virtual disks to a virtual machine. 15 for each of the 4 virtual SCSI controllers.

  • Maximum number of connections to vCenter Server

I wonder what experience people is on the threshold for the maximum number of client connections simultaneous vSphere that can connect to a server vCenter Server to access computers virtual virtual guests, using VMware vSphere client without causing performance problems or the server crash.  The simultaneous client connections vSphere how your environments have been able to support?  Of course, there are many variables that are forward-looking statements outlining exact impossible, but illustrative, that's what I'm looking for.  In this case vCenter Server has 8 GB of RAM and 1 GB/s Ethernet.

    Thank you

    Hello

For vSphere 4.0, the number of concurrent connections to VC is 20 and for vSphere 4.1 is 100.

  • Maximum number of virtual machines running?

Is there a limit to the maximum number of virtual machines that you can run at the same time on the latest VMWare Workstation for Linux 64 - bit hard?

I think I got 26 running right now, but my computer is reaching its limits, so I don't know if I'll be able to find the hard limit by just test it myself.

    Thank you

.. .right now but my computer is reaching its limits

It is actually the limit. There is no license or other limit.

  • Maximum number of connection brokers?

I ran into some odd provisioning issues in our environment view 4.0.1.  After spending a bit of time stable and working with support it seems we have too many connection brokers and the issue seems to be related to problems of ADAM replication.

My question is where if anywhere is there any limit documented for the number of brokers of the connection you can have in a single configuration of view?  I spent some time flipping through the installation guide and a few other documents for the view.  They list several maximum values, but I couldn't see any specific maximum number for brokers of the connection.  If anyone has seen this documented limit can you let me know the source?

    Thank you

unless you can find something proving support evil, I take their advice and start to reduce the amount of connection brokers. We have a few VMware View environments, but our more great who has 2800 VPC connected to 3 instances of vCenter uses only 3 brokers.

The problem is that if the support tells you to do something and you don't have, you kind of you push into a corner.  Reduce the amount of servers in connection to what is recommended and if the problem persists, you have the leverage to tell them, 'now that.

  • several doubts with vmware esx 3.5

guys, I had many doubts on VMware ESX. can you please answer me if you know the answers to any of the sub questions

In the meantime thanks for all those who respond to my questions.

    (1) how to install ESX on the SAN to start on the SAN?

    (2) how to back up the database to the virtual Center Server? is it something that supports a SQL DBA or do we do as a VMware administrator?

    (3) for the installation of VCenter server, its request for the installation of the apache tomcat server. Why is this? It is with ESX 3.5

    (4) do we need a separate license for VCenter server apart from the licenses that we buy for the ESX servers?

    (5) if 2 virtual machine port groups are on two different VLANS, to send it, we need to configure a vyatta router. How can we do that if we are not a guy from Cisco?

    (6) we give only the IP numbers for a console Service and Vmkernals but not the virtual machine port groups. If so, how these virtual machines on these virtual machine port groups know what are their IP numbers? If we want a static IP number for a virtual machine, we inside windows from a virtual computer configuration?

    (7) is the Virtual Machine power off a soft stop?

    (8) what happens when we make one pause a Virtual Machine? I think that there is no option in a machine physical windows original. so, what does this mean VM break?

    (9) how many vsphere client can simultaneously access the vcenter Server?

    (3) for the installation of VCenter server, its request for the installation of the apache tomcat server. Why is this? It is with ESX 3.5

Don't know why VM Ware chose Tomcat, they SAY THEY is not secure... No matter what.  It's just another Web server and its an option that VM Ware has chosen to work with vCenter.  It's not good or bad, just different... many people THINK apache is better, it is a matter of opinion.

    (6) we give only the IP numbers for a console Service and Vmkernals but not the virtual machine port groups. If so, how these virtual machines on these virtual machine port groups know what are their IP numbers? If we want a static IP number for a virtual machine, we inside windows from a virtual computer configuration?

It is a way, you will realize quickly that will be a major pain.  I do like DHCP, reserve of the INVESTIGATION period.  Unless you know a way to connect to hundreds of virtual machines and change their IP remotely, this is probably the simplest method.  Unless you like make manual updates... then knock you out.

    (7) is the Virtual Machine power off a soft stop?

Not as the name suggests it is a POWER-off.  Comments stop is a soft stop.

    (8) what happens when we make one pause a Virtual Machine? I think that there is no option in a machine physical windows original. so, what does this mean VM break?

Confusion in the name.  It simply means 'suspend' and there is an option on physical machines... probably no servers, in the form of profiles of power are generally disabled, but it IS possible.

    (9) how many vsphere client can simultaneously access the vcenter Server?

no theoretical limit... or I do not think that someone took the time to discover.  You will grow up to the moment where you have too many users connected to vCenter vCenter anyway... So the connections will not be reached.

  • can it be configured to increase the maximum number of Ethernet Adapater inside the virtual machine?

with esx 3.5 and created a virtual machine to windows 2003 RC2 standard. VM configuration wizard gives the maximum number of ethernet adapater is 4.  It may be more like ESX 4 4?

    Thank you

    Is not possible.

It depends by virtual hardware version and ESX 3.x support only v4.

  • (3) maximum number of hosts allowed for this edition of vCenter Server has been reached.

The following error message appears in my events of vCenter server every minute or so:

"(3) maximum number of hosts allowed for this edition of vCenter Server has been reached.

I have a license of vCenter Server Foundation (4.0) with three hosts. I am aware that this license only supports three hosts. Why vCenter should log an error every minute to tell me that? Can I have it also ignored it clutter visually the events list?

And to meet me once again, VMware has just contacted me and he was recorded as a bug and will be fixed in update 1 when coming out.
