MBP 13 retina end 2013, no entry in the lock/lock screen

I recently made a new installation of OSX El Capitan, and I started to notice that sometimes when I turn on the computer, it just stuck in the login screen, no keyboard or mouse input is present, it's weird, just the power button works, I can restart, and then everything is ok, anyone got into something like that?

Reset the SMC and the NVRAM:

  • Does anyone know why today Safari 9.1 on iMac 21.5 (end 2013) is to save the security responses?

I have an iMac 21.5 (end of 2013), with OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 and am using Safari 9.1.  Make the updates on the app store for Pages, iMovie, Numbers and Keynote, now my Safari being auto fill my answers of security on a banking Web site.  I NEVER chose to save information to the Web site of this bank. Apple support has been totally useless.  Their suggestion is to clear my history everytime I visit my Bank. Since September 2015, when I bought my 21.5 iMac using OS X El Capitan 10.11.4, this site has never autofilled of my sign in information.  This morning everything I tried to enter, auto Safari finished for me.  Has anyone else had Safari are today strange behavior?

Here's a screenshot of how I have set up Safari AutoFill.

It is the way that I put in the rear seat in September 2015. I have not changed anything in Safari to make it now auto fill security responses to my banking sites.

  • Best Config for the new MBP 13 "retina? (decide between the RAM and the space... i7 also confirmation is worth)

I'm in the market for a new MBP 13 "retina and I have a few questions about where max out of the unit.

What I have... I currently have a renovated MBP 13 "retina, end 2012, 2.9 GHz, 8 GB to 128 GB of storage. I was especially pleased with this machine. I love the SSD and the quick start. The only regions that in deca for me were video compression and storage of physical disk speed. I currently have about 30 GB HD free space, but it's because I'm a Spartan and store essential files only on the MBP. Without a doubt, I want to double my storage on the following I buy (at least it will give it more leeway to work properly).

What I do for a living... I am a writer and also a vlogger. I opted for the i7 chip because video compression is painful on the cell current, particularly H264. I use MS Word, Photoshop, Quicktime Pro and compression software to take videos and convert raw. MOV H264. So my core processing tasks, record audio/video and audio/video compression. I turn on photoshop work.

What I would like to get...

    • MacBook Pro 13 inch with Retina display
    • 3.1GHz dual - core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.4 GHz
    • Intel Iris 6100 graphics card
    • 8 GB RAM
    • 256 GB HD

    My Questions:

    1. It is better to push either the HD or RAM, up to 16 GB or 512 GB, respectively? I can't afford both. Or does save $200. (I upgraded in general on 3-year cycles)
    2. I guess that the i7 will help with the compression of various media or export tasks I have? Usually, I have to record videos using the internal camera and then export it into a format more suitable for delivery. Same with the audio (except that I capture with a blue Yeti MIC). Basically, I want to just speed up export jobs and compression. To do this, I guess the i7 and turbo boost will shine?

Just curious if anyone has any advice... I would like to purchase today. Thank you! I'm leaning towards i7 with 256 SSD and 8 GB of RAM. Since I already have an i7 on my 2012 model, descending into the processor speed is not really sense (2.9-2.7). Nor do the same (2.9 to 2.9). I'd love to 16 GB of RAM, but it pushes the machine to near $2 K.

  • Problems with El Capitan on iMac 27 "end 2013

Hello. I had some problems with my end 2013 27 "iMac. The majority of my problems seems to be turning around not being able to wake from its slumber unless I hard boot the system. I am running the operating system more recent 10.11.3

Sleep problems have started with my installation of El Capitan. I have reset the PRAM the SMC and have disabled the hibernation and Energy Saver preferences are set to never spin down hard drives or screen saver. Problem persists.

I also experience unexpected freezes. When these occur usually, audio on my system continues (if listening to iTunes or in a video game, the audio keeps going) but there is no response from the mouse or the movement on the screen at all. key board does not respond and mouse is frozen. The last time I had it's happen I had a panic the kernel to reboot (see below for the report)

I tried everything I can think of. I've scoured the forums on the internet for help and support. Im not sure if this is hardware or software related. I tried to unplug all of my devices - I have several hard drives USB and Thunderbolt. I have a second monitor connected via the bolt of lightning as well. This could be a video card problem?

I have used the EtreCheck software and have gotten several things that make me wonder if it's the software however, it seems that somewhere I still have pieces of teamviewer lingering around, even if I had uninstalled the software and I can't find anything in the spotlight for her. Here is an excerpt of my report...

Some things I noticed - I had questions on shut down the system. My computer completely sometimes turns. I have to force quit the finder or the dock still will remain open and prevent the closing down. If this happens, then I need hard closed by pushing the power button until the device turns off. My system is INCREDIBLY slow sometimes since the upgrade as well at el capitan.

I had a few problems with the big Adobe applications as well - sometimes illustrator or photoshop does any open or apps say they are open in the dock and in the force to quit smoking, but do not show in the activity monitor. In this case I have to restart my system for most work. force quit does not help them.

Sorry for the long post, but I have worked on Macs since OS7 and even worked in an apple store genius bar for awhile so I generally know what I can do to fix these but I can't get it probably remain fixed. I thought better to have as much information as possible. My next step is to reload the entire OS, but I have a lot of work here that I'm afraid to lose (even though I have several back ups via time machine and other copies on external drives)

Any help and advice would be most appreciated!

    Thank you!

  • 10.2 exasperating IOS - cannot get rid of lock screen notifications or phone calls end

    Hi all

I hate the new update!  Mainly due to the following question: my lock screen insists to show me the notifications I don't want - next Up, showing what I then in my diary, the Siri app suggestions and news.  I thought it would be simple to disable in the settings, BUT it does not work!  In my settings, news notifications are turned off completely, but still they appear (and Yes, I tried turning market!)  I have no interest in the next place, and cannot turn off anyone.  The Siri is ok - little useful and the same as what was there.

The other issue particularly infuriating is that the block of additional notifications to the wide space on the phone's screen and I can't see what I'm doing.  In particular, if I'm on a call for long enough for the kick lock screen, for me to put an end to the appeal that I need move these notifications in the way that, slide or press the home button, which takes time. I do not understand why this is happening - surely if you are on a call the lock screen shouldn't come?

So 2 questions: 1. How can I remove the undesirable elements of the lock screen and 2. How can I prevent the lock screen suddenly to avoid end me a call

    Thank you very much!

Let's first answer the simple question:

    Clairelfc wrote:

This is not correct.  To complete a call, you can simply press the sleep/wake button!

Regarding then until the next, etc...

Simply scroll to the bottom of the screen (that starts with 'To the top next' and click on change it.)  Then, you can move or delete what you want.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones unable to highlight the entries in the call log

Hope this isn't a stupid question.  I am new to the storm and the forums.  I had my storm for about a month.  Just realized that when I'm in phone mode and do up the call log screen, the entries don't "highlight" when I finger scrolling on the entries. So now I can't tell which entry I am on to reconstruct because it won't highlight.  I would appreciate any idea on how to restore the ability to highlight.  Thank you!

Hi and welcome to the forums!

You should have the ability to highlight an entry in the call log screen.

    Try a battery pull:

No data will be lost when you do the following: remove the battery while the device is activated. Remplacer replace after one minute, let the device reboot 1-3 min, see if the problem is corrected.
    Thank you

  • How to what a notification outlook 2013 on the windows lock screen 8

I have Outlook Office 2013 2013 in 64-bit and Windows 8 Pro version.  In the Windows 8 lock screen, you can get notification for Windows Mail, Skype, calendar and some other app.

Since I use my email in Outlook 2013, so I want to have Outlook 2013 email notifications in the Windows 8 lock screen, so I know when there is new incoming e-mail.

How do I do that?  When I go to the windows start screen 8, then right swip, parameters-> change PC Settings-> customize, I tried to add the 2013, but he's not here.

    Please notify.

    Thank you.

Windows 8 is a finished product, and Outlook 2013 was a finished product even before that. So I think it's a very safe assumption that it will not change in Windows 8 or office 2013.

But remember, Windows 8 is and has always been the automatic built-in ability to display the unread emails for Outlook/Exchange/IMAP accounts on the lock screen.  All you have to do is to add your e-mail account in the mail application so it can do.  You never need to open, use or see the messaging application. Just set once and relax with the lock screen feature you want.

  • Acer S277HK 4K - retina of Macbook Pro 13 "(model end 2013)

Hi Forum - I recently bought an Acer S277HK 4 K/60 Hz monitor and use as an external monitor with my Macbook Pro retina 13 "(modèle de fin 2013)."  I am connected using the "Cable issues Mini DisplayPort / Mini Displayport 4 K ready cable" to connect macbook to monitor.  So far, I cannot get the resolution of Acer to reach 4K / 60 Hz.   I did a lot of research on various forums and sites as possible and so far, everything I've seen leads me to believe that my MBP 13 '' end 2013 retina should support a 4K connection / 60 Hz, but so far, am not able to achieve this.  Someone has advice on how I can solve reach higher in the Acer external monitor resolution?  I've seen a few comments need to use 'switchrex' to adjust the settings, but no indication on this is extremely appreciated!  Thank you.

What is max resolution/frequency, you can get?

    This

With the help of 4K and Ultra HD TVs with your Mac - Apple Support screens

You should be able to get 4K@60 Hz with cable 1.2 DP/CDM? You have a cable 1.2?

A 4K cable does not mean it is 1.2 DP.

The monitor configuration screens has an option to support 1.2 DP? Some do it.

Intel said it does not support NVMe. Should or would add just performance gain?

I discovered by the research so far it is not supported. According to the information that I had any player should of NVMe or OS X will not accept or even boot from it.

If someone have different information or the best life experience - I'd be happy to hear...

  • Increase the memory in I MBR 13 '' end 2013

My MacbookPro has a SSD 251 GB which is almost full, I have now 13 GB left.

It will be fully this year if I continue to upload the Photos. My Photos are I-phone and camera and are stored in I-Cloud and 2 devices

    What choices do I have?

    More SSD?

Move the files back to my Time capsule, my share of D-Link Centre port Air, I have-cloud Drive-drop etc.?

    Something else?

What is your best advice to get more available memory?

Drive external HARD is the simplest and most economical option where to transfer data than taking a large amount of room.  That said, data that are transferred on an external HARD disc must be saved on a different HARD disk if the data has the value.  In other words, the two hard drives will be required.

You can install a larger SSD in the MBP, up to 1 TB, but which will void any warranty you may have:

    5 https://eshop.MacSales.com/Shop/SSD/OWC/MacBook-Pro-Retina-Display/2013-2014-201

However it does not eliminate the need for the external HDD for storage purposes.

    Ciao.

  • MacBook Pro (15 inch, end 2013) with MacOS Sierra 10.12: kernel_task maxing out CPU with external display

I have a maxed out end 2013 the MacBook Pro Core i7 to 2.6 GHz, 16 GB of DDR3 RAM, 1 TB SSD, NVIDIA GeForce GT 750 M 2048 MB, Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB.

Also, I have a DELL P2415Q Display 24 inches (3840 x 2160) using Thunderbolt, are involved through the headphone jack and use a USB for lightning to recharge my iPhone.

I upgraded to macOS Sierra the day he is released and had no problems until this morning. I unplugged my external screen and speakers and used my laptop for about 15 minutes, the battery, and then returned to my office and plugged my Thunderbolt, rear speakers display in and my CPU shot at 100% and never came back down. My Mac is essentially useless because kernel_task is eating all my CPU and to prevent another asks to enter the CPU.

I have since audited equipment - everything was fine, reset the NVRAM and I tried to erase IOPlatformPluginFamily.kext .plist files but I couldn't on my Mac (trying to follow this guide, started in Safe Mode and everything then went to try and find the file and my Mac just does not have it). When my external screen is plugged if I'm doing anything CPU intensive (videophone, opening of Chrome, etc.) then my kernel_task gets mad again, and the only way to move is to unplug my screen. Connect my iPhone to charge the tips also my kernel_task as well. I followed my internal temperatures, and nothing was out of the ordinary, to cold currently at about 140 °.

At this point, it seems that any time that puts something on the charging system and increase the temperature internal internal components of my Mac kernel_task maxes my CPU, which brings my Mac to its knees.

Any ideas how to fix? Is this just a major bug in 10.12?

    Hi, Trent L.

Try this - problems with macOS Sierra? This fix can help you.

He got rid of all my macOS strangeness of the Sierra.

    Hope this helps,

I have a MBP of 2009 end. I updated the material to 8 GB of ram with an SSD of 240gig. I want to run the new OSX, but is not on the list approved for the update. Anyone know why?

It is a decision that was made by Apple.  El Capitan is the newest OSX that will support a 2009 MBP.

This is not uncommon.  My 2006 MBP came with Tiger, but is limited to OSX Snow Leopard.

Old hardware ends up by becoming obsolete with newer technology.

    Ciao.
