PlayReady in Media Center will not update.  The message is "PlayReady update was incomplete.  "You can watch or save protected content until the update is successful.  All attempts to return the same error.  Netflix also only a black screen shows when you watch a movie.  Live TV works except HBO which is protected against copying.  How can I fix?

    Hi William,.

Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.

From the problem description, I understand that you have problems with the PlayReady Media Center update on Windows 8 computers. I will certainly help you in this regard.

Try these methods and see if it makes a difference.

    Method 1
Loan will not update if the date is wrong. I suggest you to check if the system date and time is correct.

    Method 2
Temporarily disable your firewall settings and check if you are able to update.
Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 3

Open Windows "Services" via the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Services.
With Media Center open and show "the PlayReady update was incomplete. Do you want to retry? "Go to the 'Services' Panel you just opened and scroll all the way up to"Services Windows Media Center Receiver", double-click it, then click on"Stop ".

Navigate to the folder ReadyPlay HIDDEN (C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\PlayReady), and then delete the mspr.hds file.

Return to the OPEN & CONTINUES, Media Center and click 'Yes' and 'Next' to the question of the PlayReady update. He should immediately zip past and say update complete & you can watch and record the protected against copying.

Carry out these methods and let us know if you need more assistance. I'll be happy to help you.

  • Smart blackBerry 8820 phone media list will not update

I tend to update my list of media daily. I keep audio books on it and some tunes to pass me the rough spots to work. Last night, when I removed the current audio book chapters and loaded the next 3, something strange happened. The old files are recognized and would not play (as to be expected, they are not there more), but the new files were not there. I have more than one concert on the left on the map, I restarted, I removed the card and rebooted, I have disabled support for the card, rebooted and turned on, checked my settings and even tried to delete the ghosts through the press kit on my 8820. The thing jump just will not update its list. I even took EVERYTHING out of my phone that I had put on it, and he saw always old files, but cannot open them. What should I do?

Hi and welcome to the forums!

I finally caught up with you to the other forum

When you say you've restarted that left powereing or

Remove the battery while the device is activated, replace after one minute, let the device reboot 1-3 min.

If you haven't tried the battery pull, I would start there.

    Let us know,

    Thank you

  • Media Guide will not be displayed in Windows Media Player 12

Just bought a new laptop with pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium. My problem is I can't select the "Media Guide WMP 12". In the list on the left side pane, there is an option to select "Online stores", but the button next to it that is supposed to change it to "Media Guide" does not respond to mouse clicks.

Please help as I am unable to stream internet radio and any other content because of this.

Start Windows in clean boot mode and try there. Do you have the same problem?

Try temporarily disabling your firewall and check if that helps.

What happens when you use IE to go to http://onlinestores.metaservices.microsoft.com ? You should get a 403 error (access denied).

  • Media Center will not update beyond 01/01/2013

I have Windows Vista Home Premium & regularly use the Media Center.  The Guide told me I have only 3 days & asks me to download the updates, I do. It makes no difference & it still does not update at 01/01/2013.  Have set up lists of guide again, but always without success.  On the page "on the Guide lists", I note that he cites a start date of 01/01/01 & 01/01/2013 end date.  The Version of the EPG is cited as 3.00

As a matter separate & continues, I find that channel 5, so that the list, does not all data in the guide, but I can still record from this channel using add it easy recording.
    Can anyone help please

  • Windows 7 Media Player will not update files and allow me to remove the old files of the library.

I've been deleting old audio/video files on my computer that also appear in the media player library but when I remove it from the library, it won't let me, but it gives me the options and it will show a pop window of the process he goes through to remove these old library files, but nothing to really occurs because the files remain in the library.

(I guess that Afzal post ended up somehow in the wrong thread).

To get rid of the old songs and videos in the library, you probably need to reset the media library. Note firstly reset the library will make you lose all play counts and ratings too. Then, follow these steps:

    -Restart the PC.
-Click Start, type services.msc in the search field and press ENTER. In Services, locate the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service . If its status is started , double-click the service, and then click stop .
-Click Start, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft in the search field and press ENTER. This folder opens in Windows Explorer.
-In this folder, rename the folder Media Player as Old Media Player . If you do not see the folder, then it is probably hidden. Set Explorer to view the hidden files and folders and show protected system files.
-Launch WMP, your library will have been reset and will be rebuilt.

  • Media Encoder will not update

    http://kb2.Adobe.com/CPS/868/cpsid_86850.html

I had this problem some time ago and applied the fix above.  I just got a new hard drive and reinstalled body 5.03 for the new HD.  When I tried the fix, it doesn't seem to help, because I always get the error message when I start the media encoder.  I tried to rename the shortcut to. EXE. LNK. EXE. LNK, but nothing helped.  What I am doing wrong, or is there a different problem now.

Try to rename the shortcut for just "Adobe Media Encoder" - No .exe or .lnk in the name of the file.

If that is not the case, read this long thread: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/717697. It includes two alternatives.

  • Windows Media Center will not update EPG beyond 3 February 2016 UK

I'm running Windows 7 on a PC with TV tuner that is connected to our TV. The EPG ceased to update and shows nothing more than Wednesday, Feb. 3.

I tried the update of the EPG by following the steps suggested in the help section and other forums. WMC said it has updated successfully each time, but it didn't.

What could I do next? Or is it an alter program that can play and record TV in a similar way to WMC?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Using WMC with antenna and Uverse Internet connection.  These days Guide in Windows Media Center has been warning me about the guide with less than 3 days on his calendar.  Now I see that the schedule tomorrow.  It asks if I want to update the guide, I say OK and it says it is complete, but the guide never gets updated.  After tomorrow, if the guide is not updated, this feature will be worthless.  How can it get updated since it controls recording? Run these tools:

Take note of the results of the System File Checker.  Then after you run the two, run Windows Update.

You are able to update of AVG?
Any other antivirus (i.e. Norton, McAfee, etc.) has already been installed on this computer?

Windows media player will not play or will be windows media center. they have just the green screen of goto, it is solid

    Hello bluepole,.

    1. the Media Player and Media Center work fine before?

    2. the problem occurs with all types of files you play or any particular file?

Try the methods below to resolve this issue:

    Method 1:

Reduce hardware acceleration (or turn off) video hardware acceleration (if supported by your video card)

1 open the screen resolution by clicking on the start start button Picture button, click on the Panel, and then, under appearance and personalization, click on adjust the screen resolution.

    2. click on advanced settings, click the Troubleshooting tab, and then click on change settings.

    3. move the hardware acceleration slider to none to reduce or turn off video hardware acceleration.

    Method 2:

If you are not able to play all the files, make sure that the right codecs are installed on the computer for videos to play in Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center.

Refer to this article for frequently asked Codecs:

    Method 3:

Make sure that you install the latest drivers for your graphics card. You can see the underside of section which will give you information on how to update the drivers:

  • Windows media player will not play my downloaded movies.

Original title: windows media player will not play my downloaded movies, so I know very lil on computers! Please help me!

I have LimeWire. I downloaded several movies and can't watch them. When I try, it automatically showed the windows media player, and then displays a message saying "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file. "I looked for updates, perhaps thinking that I needed one, he says: there is no availiavle. I use the latest version of windows media player. any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's really a simple question, easy to fix. But if you are really not that familiar with the computer, you may want to ask a friend who knows enough to help you.

You can show it to your friend...
What you need is to 'google' for a FREE video converter.
Use the converter and changge movies in WMV file formats. (Sticking with the formats WMV, nothing else).
Once the conversion is complete, you can play these movies in your Media Player.

However, there is another alternative. Install a 3rd party media player called VLC. He plays any video fromats.
