original title: error with ehshell.exe
I have Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 with Service Pack 3 and I tried to run Media Center but I get an error message with ehshell.exe. Could you help me?
This problem exists since the 1st Media Center. SP2 and SP3 had a difficulty, but it is obvious that it doesn't always. The same problem still exists in Vista today with a lot of other carried over from XP. System restore would work, but you do not have any good restore points so reinstall an operating system seems to be your only option.
You probably don't want to do an OS reinstall you need for Media Center, but since it does not at all, you might want to play then remove the Media Center updates and or SP3 and reinstall them.

/ close the switch with the media player 12 on windows 7 32-bit o/s
I try to use the /close switch with media player 12 on windows 7 32-bit o/s, the media player opens and plays the file but does not close after the reading of the file.
I expect that the /close should work when used in conjunctino with the /play after reading the site--> http://support.microsoft.com/KB/241422
Some commands I tried:
Start/min Mplayer2.exe /play/c:\alert.wav nearby
Start/min /play/c:\alert.wav nearby wmplayer.exe
This same exact command is currently working on Windows XP. Appreciate any help on this.
Thank you

Windows Media Player will not sync with my iPod
I have Windows Media Player 11 on my laptop, and when I try to sync my library with my iPod, windows does not show even my iPod is connected. I made my drive by default, but I don't know what else to do. Other programs such as iTunes and Bearshare see my camera very well, is there something else I need to download or what? I've tried everything I can think of, and I am at a loss. Can someone help me please?
Hi VicVicVictoria,
Windows Media Player are not compatible with the iPod. You may need to purchase a plug-in to sync the iPod to your windows media player.
Otherwise, you will get assistance from Apple to download and use iTunes from the IPod website.

If you have any general questions about reinstalling Windows , please see this site:
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/installing-and-reinstalling-WindowsInstallation - 'upgrade' means what?
Upgrade means that you can install Windows 7 simply by inserting the Windows 7 upgrade software in the DVD drive of your PC and follow the instructions on the screen. While you are not required to backup and reinstall your files, or reinstall your programs, it is a very good idea to back up your files and settings before you start any upgrade to the software. Get more information on the software updates and best practices .Installation - what does "Custom (Clean)" Mean?
A custom (clean) installation clears the contents of the hard drive of your PC. Your files, settings, and programs will not be transferred to Windows 7. This means that to install Windows 7, you must:Back up any files and settings you want to keep
Install Windows 7
Reinstall all your files
Reinstall all the programs you want to use.
These four steps take time, skills, techniques and Windows Easy Transfer can help. However, if you are not comfortable with this process, please consider having the installation carried out by a local service provider.

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit XP w/Service Pack 1:
Left Windows XP>
I am running Windows 7 XP Professional, 64-Bit with Service Pack 1 and Microsoft Office 2010. I don't get what or service packs for Office.
I should have an update to Service Pack 2 or higher for my Windows 7? If so, how can I get the update? I spent to Windows Update several times and received all the updates that are available, but none of them have included a service pack.
Thanks for any information and help that anyone can give me. If I have everything I need, that's fine, I wondered.
There is no "Windows 7 XP Professional. Certainly you mean "Windows 7 Professional."
There is no Service Pack 2 for Windows 7.
The latest service pack for Windows 7 is Service Pack 1. There are several "" important updates for Windows 7 which have been issued since SP 1.
There is a Service Pack 2 (as well as SP 1) for Office 2010. And, of course, there are a lot of important updates to Office 2010 since SP 2.
To determine which service pack has been applied to Office 2010, see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2121559
Windows Update determines which updates, including service packs are available for your system. If you have installed all the updates offered by WU, you should be aware.
Note that if it's been long that you used WU, you may need to go back several times, eventually reboot between the two visits to WU, before you have finished.
