Media Player 10 showing no skins

In Windows Media Player 10 is not opening / showing skins addon from microsoft.com or other sites. It is only to show the default built in skins. Any ideas?

Skin show I have to open the file itself (ZAF)

Hi Jack,

To provide the proper resolution, I would need more information on your side.

1. what exactly happens when you try to open the skins of the add-on?

2. What is the number of brand and model of the computer?

This behavior can occur if the skin is not compatible, if you are not the administrator user, or if the graphics drivers are not updated.

Method 1:
Check if the skins are compatible with the edition of Windows Media Player you are using.

Method 2:
If the problem persists, make sure that you are logged on as administrator user.

Method 3:
If the problem persists, I suggest you to download and install the latest version of the graphics driver on the manufacturer's Web site and check if it helps.

  • Unknown problem caused media player to close and that to protect my Media Player Windows has disabled skins

    Original title: "skins".
I recently downloaded a lot of skins from the microsoft Web site, and it worked very well for about an hour. Then I saw a skin called 'come back' I don't not download but recalled seeing in my default skins that were already installed. I wanted to see what it was and when I did caused a problem which I can't specify because the notification window remained only until fairly long for me to see (in a nutshell) "unknown problem caused media player to close and to protect my Media Player Windows has disabled skins. Now, I spent over 3 hours to try each answer in the forums for this issue and not one worked for me. I am running Windows Vista Home Basic and I can't find a way to reactivate my skin so that I can use only skins working know is the company and changing the skin that caused the problem. I tried deleting and reinstalling all the skins again, but again does not help. I tried to do a right click on the skin to go to properties to activate as suggested in the forums, but when I right click on it nothing happens. So now I have like 20 downloaded skins but the only way that they work is if I download again and choose to view them, but if I try to change the playlist or switch to full mode then it goes to firm skin and I download it again to get the one I want. I am so frustrated with this problem which I think should be a very easy thing to fix, but nothing I try works. Please help me. Thanks for any help you may be able to provide.

  • When I want to burn a CD in Windows Media Player, it shows "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to disk". What's wrong? How to fix?

When I want to burn a CD in Windows Media Player, it shows "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to disk".    What's wrong? How to fix?

I tried several times to remove the selection to burn and create a new a new but it keep "Windows Media Player has encountered a problem when burning the file to delivery" appears what should I do?   What problem is it?

    Hello

    1. what file format you are trying to burn?

    2. have you made changes on the computer recently?

    3. What is the security software installed on the computer?

If it's something you downloaded, it may be copy protected by DRM, in which case you may not burn it to a CD or DVD.

Here are a few things to try:

    1. make sure that the disc is clean.

    2. try a different brand of blank discs.

    3. stop all other programs that are running.

    4. make sure that the hard drive does not use disk compression.

I suggest that you follow these steps and check if they help to solve the problem.

    Method 1:

Try to use the Troubleshoot utility to see if that solves the problem.

    a. open the troubleshooting Windows Media Player settings Troubleshooter by clicking the Start button, then Control Panel.

    (b) in the search box, type "convenience store" and then click Troubleshooting.

    c. click on show all and then click the Windows Media Player settings.

    Method 2:

Select a recording speed (write) more slow for the CD burner.

Change settings for burning a CD or DVD in Windows Media Player

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-settings-for-burning-a-CD-or-DVD-in-Windows-Media-Player

    Method 3:

If you have any third-party burning software, I suggest you temporarily Uninstall it and then try to burn the disc using Windows Media Player.

Note: Reinstall the software after the trial.

    Method 4:

Temporarily disable all programs that could activate themselves, while burning is in progress, such as screensavers or anti-virus programs.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Run the computer without antivirus software or firewall is a potential threat to the computer; Be sure to activate security software after completing the troubleshooting steps and after identifying the problem.

    I hope this helps.

If I understand what you're trying to do, follow these steps:

Right click on the downloaded file, then press Ctrl-C, which copy.

Then navigate to the SD card, click inside it and then press Ctrl + V
    sticking to what you copied.

  • Windows Media Player not showing not ripped or downloaded music

Until there are a few days, torn CD and downloaded music from web sources automatically and permanently would appear in my Windows Media Player.  Now the files only go to the location of Windows 7 library/music and I can't get the files appear in WMP.

Strange that it worked fine one day and then quit.

    Thank you

    Hello

Follow the given steps and check.

Method 1. Troubleshooting of Windows Media Player settings

Solving the problems of open Windows Media Player settings
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-Windows-Media-Player-settings-Troubleshooter

Ripped files are automatically added to the Player library. On your computer, the files are in the folder in your library of music specified on the tab extract music from the Options dialog box. You can change the folder at any time.

For more information about the location of the ripped files.

    Reference:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-settings-for-ripping-music

    Method 2:

This problem occurs because the Windows Media Player library database is corrupted.

To resolve this problem, delete the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.
    2. click on start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player, and then click OK.
    3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.
Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.
    4. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.
    2. Click Start, click Run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoftand then click OK.
    3. Select the Media Player folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

  • Windows Media Player 11 cannot apply downloaded skins

IM on Vista x 64 media player 11 and all skins Ive downloaded custom applies when I click apply. Just, the player sits on the skin selection screen and does nothing, the original skins work and downloaded skins working on media player from my fiancées 11 on his vista x 32. How can I make them work on my version?

    Hello Deshra,

I believe that the problem is that your system is 64-bit and the download do not specify whether 32-bit or 64-bit. Since it seems to work on 32 bits of your fiancée computer and not on a 64 bit machine it makes me believe that it would be the problem.

Search skins 64-bit download and see if it helps to have the skins.

Please answer and give us an update.

  • M4a and M4P files don't show in the Media Player library

Original title: display music files m4p in medial Microsoft Reader library

My Itunes Music Library contains 1400 songs, my Media Player library shows only 20% of people.  Seems that m4p and m4a files do not show in the Media Player library.

WMP 11 is not supported with built-in support for M4P and M4A (MPEG-4 audio) files. For the support of library and the tag for the latter, you need to install the plug-in in WMP Tag Plus .

Note that M4P files are protected against copying, if WMP will probably not be able to read them.

  • Open a URL in Windows Media Player

Is there a chance to open a url directly from youtube in windows media player?

    Let's go into the details.

I have the old Matrox rt.x100 video card (full screen on an external monitor only with windows media player + live show video plugin), so if I want to open a livestream of youtube video and play on external monitor through the Matrox card I need wmp.

Beacause it, is there any chance and the possibility of open url directly in Windows Media Player?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Stefan

I don't disagree that VLC can, but it's obviously research any HTML content on the page, to jump beyond all the toolbars, comments, announcements, links and... then find the video, determine the FLV or a video that is wrapped in the HTML5 or Flash wrapper, then play the open content.

This will never come to WMP.
