Hello

Toshiba controls are responsible for this special buttons.
If this button doesn't work so I would recommend to reinstall this app and start the unit.
Check if this procedure works

  • How to reinstall media player express on Satellite A100-683?

For some stupid reason, I managed to format the partition that contains the media express the player.

I really think that I have ever received a recovery cd or I lost it in a mather of seconds after I bought my Satellite A100-683 in 2006.

Never the less: I want this program back so I called the technical assistance service. They have managed to tell me that they cannot provide me with a recovery disk because it contained the program note only Microsoft (and Microsoft does not allow redistribution more this program).

My questions, subject that has been media express player and if they had any suggestions where to look for the software, went unanswered.

    So my question is:
Can someone give me please with software that reinstalls express MediaPlayer in its Linux partition on the hard drive of my laptop?

    > I really think that I have ever received a recovery cd or I lost it in a mater of seconds after I bought my Satellite A100-683 in 2006.

Have goggled a bit that has found that this laptop was certainly delivered with the Toshiba Recovery CD and the CD Express Media Player.
So, I think that you lost!

    > I want this program to go back so I called the technical assistance service. They have managed to tell me that they can t give me a recovery disk because it contained the Microsoft program single note (and Microsoft doesn t allow a redistribution of this program).

AFAIK the OneNote has been installed on the Toshiba Recovery CD but the Express Media Player has been on the external CD. So it should not be bundled with the software OneNote.

    > So my question is: can someone please provide me with a software that reinstalls express MediaPlayer in its Linux partition on the hard drive of my laptop?
Unfortunately, I n t think someone can do the official Toshiba forum isn't a platform of Exchange software ;)

  • Installation of Media Player Express on Satellite A100-847

    Hello

To cut a long story short: I replaced the HARD drive of my laptop for bigger and so I had to restore my system. He had no problem with that. But I have no Express Media Player recover disc! I read a few topics, saying that this disk image is within the OS (in Sonic etc...), but there is nothing, no shortcut "to create the recovery disk; None of the solutions described in the FAQ, forums are made available to me. In addition to this, my laptop has been delivered only with a recovery DVD, it was a DVD, CD recovery system recovery not EMP.
Simply, I need a picture of this EMP recovery CD. I can't even buy in https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx because of the given answer: for your device no way recovery can be ordered, because he is not from the area of Toshiba Europe, or he is too old for this service. I guess that my case is too old laptop. I don't even understand why should I pay for something what supposed tobe bundled with my computer?
I tried to use (I created 251 MB partition marked as 0 x 88) recovery disc Toshiba EMP available on network but they did not - picture unpacked on partition but EMP stops after you boot the system. Looks like I need a laptop-specific...
    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance

  • Satellite M45-S359 turns off suddenly

    Hello

Now I have the Satellite M45-S359 3 years. This week, it began to turn off all at once, without even stopping or in hibernation.
I noticed it get very hot, but I can hear the fan operation.

    Can anyone help? Thank you

Your description leads to the suggestion that it is an overheating problem simply.
Computers laptop Toshiba supports protection against overheating. This feature is very useful because it prevents the equipment from damage!

If the temperature rises to a critical level, the laptop stops automatically.

Now, you ask why the temperature is too high? Well, this could happen if the internal cooling module is not working properly because of the dust and debris inside the laptop.

Generally, it should be possible to clean the fans using a special compressed air jet that can be bought from most of the computer and the laptop dealers.

If this does not help, I would recommend contact the laptop to a professional cleaning technician.

I have a satellite with the buttons of soft touch media players. All the buttons work for the track selection and the launching of Media player, but the mute button actually launches Internet Explorer rather than mute.

No idea how can I fix?

    Thanks in advance

The "Controls Button from TOSHIBA" utility allows you to modify the application to launch these buttons.

Look in Toshiba Assist under the Optimize section.

(this is for XP, it may be different in Vista, take a look in the start menu-> programs-> TOSHIBA)

  • Satellite M45-S359 does not work as it should

So, I got the M45-S359 computer two years a go.
In two years so I had to replace a monitor and 2 hitters... Well now the new problem.

Lately, the computer does not start some time and I have to play with it for a while to start.
It is a 15 "monitor, but now when the computer starts up, it opens only 2/3 of the screen and the rest of the screen is black.
Battery light flashes if I unplug the laptop... and I don't know how much energy is left, the touchpad no longer works.
I reinstalled the computer to factory default, but the problems are still there.

Other than that I've spent more than $1000 on this laptop when I bought it first.
Funny, this is the warranty just expired and the computer just went out of control. I don't want to not spend more money on this computer and I have more money to buy a new computer being that a college student Union is tight... you know how it goes.

So now is there anyone out there has similar prob?
If not, are there ways to put my computer in usable form.

What say boyfriend story is sad, but you don't have a lot of possibilities.
Generally, the warranty is valid for one year. If you register the notebook on the Toshiba page then you get an extra one (1 + 1 = 2 years) year warranty

If you reinstalled the operating system using the recovery CD and the problem still persists then it s definitely a hardware problem and the defective part must be replaced.

If you warranty is valid that everything should be done for free, if the warranty is out, then you will have to pay for the repair. It's difficult because laptops parts are not cheap

However, I think that the ASP in your country can provide more details

    Good luck

  • Satellite M45-s359, Windows will not start

I have a problem with this laptop. I simply re - install Windows and everything worked perfectly.
Well I started to updated with windows update, but it took too long, and I had to turn it off

The next day, I came and turn on the computer laptop everything seems to work fine at that time, Toshiba screen and then black with white letters (I don't remember what they say), then the screen goes black and nothing happens.

I know that the laptop is on the cause of the leds in the front. I tried to turn it out and a star above, but the same result.
I myself have the installation and the tower to the configuration by default to try more options, but the same result. I think to could be a problem with the screen, so I Plug and external one no result either.

The computer was working fine... so I started to get worried (I am still worry).

I tried to boot with a CD, did not work, boot with Xp CD did not work.
I think that I have not tried many options but this where I got so far.

The laptop had some problems with overheating, but I do not know if that have something to do, make turns on.

Any suggestion? (btw, I open the part where the cooler is and nothing smells bad).

    Hello

My understanding of the notebooks, question had begun after that windows update was not completed. I think it s a system problem.

But I wonder why you are not able to boot from the recovery CD or the own Windows XP CD and impossible to reinstall the operating system. ?:|

You should try to press the C key immediately after that laptop was turned on.
This would allow the start-up of the ODD (CD/DVD drive).
However, you can also use the F12 key. This button would allow the start menu. Then you may choose the CD/DVD drive and could boot from the bootable CD.

    Feedback would be appreciated

    Hello

I don't know m but AFAIK the IGPXPXD32. DLL is part of the Intel display driver. This suggests that there may be something wrong with this driver.

In your case I would remove the old driver, restart the computer and install the latest version from the Toshiba site:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com > download

    Good luck!

    Hello

I guess I have a problem with the express media player on my satellite m60-170.

When I press the cd/dvd button, instead of 'Act' as it should, it just support windows (such as pressing the power button), open the media player and start playing the disc...

(The cd/dvd button is attributed to "cd/dvd")

    any suggestions?

    thanx.

    Hello

Please, go to the control panel and choose the application of controls of Toshiba.
On the first page, you have two options: CD/DVD and internet buttons.
Click on the CD/DVD button and select the CD/DVD
In the media applications tab, you can try to choose the express media player.

Note: Make sure that the express Media Player has been correctly installed on your laptop.

  • Express the Media Player (EMP) recovery disk - satellite P105-S6024

I have a problem with my on my new machine satellite P105-6024 express Media Player software.

As I bought it, everything works fine. But then, I did the partitions on my HARD drive and I instaled all the software recovery disc. And everything looks earlier and work properly but Express Media Center. It seems that it is not installed. I found the special Express Media Player restore disk but I don't know how to use it. (I am a novice complite). As I knew EMP is a linux-like software and it is not visible in Windows. And I know that there was a small special partition dedicated to this application. This partition has been deleted. And I'm not sure that it is possible to install EMP once more on my laptop. How can I use the EMP recovery disk? If I just run in the windows environment I see just a few files - but their execution, nothing is happen. I'd appreciate a small manual.

Thank you very much in advance

    Hello

I found this on the web:

Installation Guide step by step for Express Media Player and Windows XP Recovery on two partitions in Expert mode:

    (1) all DATA on HARD drive will BE DESTROYED IRREVERSABLY (it's serious!)
    (2) install Express Media Player:
Boot from the recovery Express Media Player CD
--> use [delete all Partitions] (can be on the left side of the menu for older versions of reader).
THIS ERASES THE ENTIRE HARD DRIVE!
    (3) boot with the Windows XP Recovery CD, go to expert mode and exit the "TOSHIBA Recovery Tool" (version OEM Ghost) using menuitem "Quit."
    (4) you can use fdisk.exe or gdisk.exe - I'll show the syntax here gdisk
(its easier to describe and there are a lot of descriptions for FDISK on the net)
    (5) now, we create two partitions (size of 50%: 50%-playersize).
--> At the DOS prompt, type:
    Gdisk 1 /cre /pri /sz:50%-> creates a primary partition 1
    Gdisk 1 /cre /ext-> creates an extended partition 2
    Gdisk 1/log /cre-> creates a 2nd logical partition
    Gdisk 1/p:1-> partionion set 1 active /act
    (6) now reboot with Windows XP Recovery CD, go to expert mode
    (7) menu use: Local\Partition\From Image, choose image GHO menu
    (8) there should only be ONE partition available source:
1 primary DiskLoad NTFS 07...-> pick this one!
    (9) Select destination disk (there are also only one)
    1 basic...-> pick this one!
    (10) now you need to choose the destination partition - there should be three to choose!
    (11) select:
1 primary 0C Fat32 without name...-->! BE SURE TO CHOOSE THIS ONE!
    (12) to confirm that you want to write on this partition
"(13)" TOSHIBA Recovery Tool "is unpack and install the operating system
    (14) subsequently Windows XP and Media Player Express are installed

Hope this will help you. Good luck!

  • Express media player works only on P100-213

In my satellite p100-213 MediaPlayer express does not work correctly. I have a lot of pixels on the screen and when I run the audio cd, it does not work. I reinstalled the express media player, but it still does not go. Any idea? Thx for all.

    Hello

I guess the express Media Player worked properly, but you should know that this drive doesn't support them all!
Moreover, it's not the media player express if the film has a lot of pixels or not.
It depends on the film format. However, I imagine that you don t have correctly installed the express media player.
Check out this forum how to install and manage the express media player. In this forum, you will find many useful comments.

I also found this Toshiba Info page:
    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB6401G5000HR01.htm

So, now everything should be clear.

  • Install the drive Media Express on Satellite M60

I just bought myself a M60-170. Because I have to join a domain, I had to format the drive and reinstall with XP pro.
During the reinstallation, I deleted all partitions and EMP has disappeared. After reading the manual, I saw that there is an option for EMP.

When I boot with the EMP recovery disk and try to reinstall it, it says that it will destroy all data partitions. But does take?

    Hello

If you install the Express Media Player so the whole HARD disk will be deleted!
    I found this installation instruction:

    1. ALL DATA ON THE HARD DRIVE WILL BE DESTROYED IRREVERSABLY

    2. install Express Media Player:

--> use [delete all Partitions] (can be on the left side of the menu for older versions of reader).

  • Satellite L305 - how to change the function of the media player keys?

How can I change the function of my buttons in Media Player on top of my laptop?
I know that if you go to Toshiba Assist, optimize, Support Button, you can change the function of certain keys, but the only options I have are the keys Mute and the CD/DVD.

I am trying to make the button media player opens iTunes, not WMP and even for play/pause, stop, fast forward and rewind.

Even if I'm here, I have a problem with my Ctrl + 1 never work. I can't spend the first tab of firefox or aim. I can't do a group control 1 when you play. Anyone know why/how can I fix it?

    Hey,.

If you press the button on the media player, only Windows Media Player or DVD Toshiba player can be started and not iTunes. This configuration is not possible. As you can read in the user's manual, only these programs can be started.
Then the other multimedia keys work correctly, and you can use it with media player?

    Concerning your other question:
I would try to clean the cooling system using a jet of compressed air. This can blow the dust cooling fans and, therefore, it of not necessary to disassemble the laptop.
