Menu does not open fully

I have a problem for some time, the menu bar is not entirely opens sometimes.

You can see what I mean in the video.

So how to solve this problem.

Happens only when there is a video on a Web page?

Beyond that, it only when running in Firefox SafeMode?

  • Select does not open dropdown onclick

I currently use a datepicker for jQuery UI 1.10 with a list drop-down selection so that the user can choose year. The "yearpicker" works fine in other browsers, but in FF21 (I only tested in this version) it doesn't work at all. It is like clicking on a box of selection no options; the menu does not open, and I can't change the selected option with the arrow keys on my keyboard. This is just static.

I read a few other related posts on similar problems, and the advice given does not solve my problem (as restarting in safe mode, disable all add-ons, disable hardware acceleration, etc.). I also checked for solutions by disabling the options shadow windows, but without success.
Since it doesn't appear in FF, I suppose that this is not a problem with jQuery UI. This looks more like a problem with FF, and because of the history of problems with selection boxes, it could be something old that will come back.

After consulting three front-end developers, we have identified the problem. We found that the root of the problems inside that the datepicker was inside a modal colorbox.
We have avoided the problem by removing the tabindex attribute, and now it works. Why FF is unable to open select boxes inside a modal when tabindex is used however, is sort of weird. Maybe it's a bug that the FF team wants to take notice.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Vista Start menu will not open. Only the classic display works.

My Start menu does not open when I click on it. It also won't work when I press the windows button. The only way to get the start menu to open is to change the menu to Classic view. Help, please!

    HI Phillyeagles5000,

You can restore the start menu original, default settings.

    1. open properties of the Start Menu by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, appearance and personalization, then clicking on the taskbar and Start Menuand the taskbar.

    2. click on the tab Start Menu and then click Customize.

    3. in the Customize the Start Menu dialog box, click use the default settings, and then click OK.

If this does not work, you can create a new user account and see if it helps.

    1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.

    2. click on Manage another account. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. click on create a new account.

4 type the name that you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click create an account.

If it works you can copy files to the new user profile.

Thanks for posting the details of your system. I'm skeptical about the "CompTool0234 Community Toolbar". Could you disable some add-ons and see if that helps.

    On this tab:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Plugins category

    Disable «Conduit Plugin»

    On this tab:

Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category

    Disable the CompTool0234 community toolbar.

Then very probably a link will appear to restart Firefox to make the change. Does make a difference?

Firefox does not open in full screen on the task bar and I have to go over it to see the web page.

Firefox window is sometimes "off screen" somehow. Often, you can force it to appear on the screen by right clicking on the thumbnail image just above the taskbar and choose expand. Does it work?

A possible cause for this is that the file that stores the positions and sizes of window is corrupt. You can delete this file and Firefox will return to standard window resizing.

#1 method: If you can get a zoomed window:

Open the settings folder (AKA Firefox profile) current Firefox help

    • button "3-bar" menu > "?" button > troubleshooting information
    • (menu bar) Help > troubleshooting information
    • type or paste everything: in the address bar and press Enter

In the first table of the page, click on the view file"" button. This should launch a new window that lists the various files and folders in Windows Explorer.

Leave this window open, switch back to Firefox and output, either:

    • "3-bar" menu button > button "power".
    • (menu bar) File > Exit

Pause while Firefox finishing its cleanup, then rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

#2 method: If you can not get a Firefox window for all:

Close Firefox by right clicking the icon in the taskbar > close all windows.

Using the Run dialog box (windows key + R) or the start search bar menu type or paste the following and press Enter to drill down to the profiles folder:

    %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles

Here you can see a folder - in this case, double-click that - or more than one case - in this case, double-click on in what looks like the most recently updated.

Scroll down and rename xulstore.json to something like xulstore.old. If you see a file named localstore.rdf, rename this to localstore.old.

Launch Firefox back up again. Windows normally appear again?

Then, to re - light bars, you can use one of the following methods to view the list of the toolbar, and then select the desired bars it:

To activate the menu bar, toolbar bookmarks or other bars, click it in the list.

    Third party extension and plug-ins?

If Safari is slow, unresponsive, which closes unexpectedly, or has other issues

The problem may be caused by a Safari Extension, Internet plug-in or another add-on.

The safari Extensions, Internet plug-ins, and other modules are designed to improve or customize the browsing experience. Modules are widely available on the Internet, and some are installed as part of an application or other software. If you have Add-ons installed, an add-on might be at the root of the issue.

If the problem is the unwanted pop-up windows, advertisements and graphics while surfing on the web, discover how to remove the ad-injection (adware) from your Mac software.

    Disable the Safari Extensions

You can disable Extensions Safari to learn if all are causing the problem.

    1. In the Safari menu, choose Preferences.
    2. Click the Extensions icon, and then select an extension from the list.
    3. Uncheck the box enable disable this extension.

If turning off an extension solves the problem, look for updates of the extension by clicking Update in the lower left corner of the window. Or remove the extension by clicking on the button uninstall.

Remove Internet plug-ins and other add-ons.

You can remove Internet plug-ins and other add-ons to see if everything is the origin of the problem. To find them, quit Safari and open these folders in library:

    • The library folder at the top level of your hard drive. Open it from the Finder by choosing go > go to folder in the menu bar. Then type /Library and then click OK.
    • The record library in your home folder. Open it by organizing the Option while choosing go > library in the menu bar.

The folders in the library contains the following folders for modules. Move all the files in these folders to the trash.

    • Internet Plug-Ins
Do not remove the default Browser.plugin, nslQTScriptablePlugin.xpt, Composer.webplugin of Quartz or QuickTime Plugin.plugin.
    • Input methods
    • InputManagers
    • ScriptingAdditions

If the removal of the files in these folders solves the problem, quit Safari again and gradually put the files until you find the one at the origin of the problem:

    1. Open the Recycle Bin and select one of the files that you removed. Chose file > back up. The file back to its folder.
    2. Open Safari and see if the problem returns.
      • If the issue is returned, you have identified the add-on causing the problem. Do not use or contact its manufacturer for an updated version.
      • If the question does not return, quit Safari and put back another file.
  • does not open on the screen from the taskbar.

I have windows 8. Firefox does not open on my screen. I click the icon in the taskbar, it works, but there is nothing on the screen. When I go on the task bar icon the thumbnail indicates above, then when you click on it, it disappears. You can close the nail of the thumb. That's all that happens. Explorer and Chrome load without problem. I hope you can help with this problem because I use Firefox as my main browser.
