Menu Windows 7 start of search results displays empty.

Original title: sidebar search works do not

My sidebar search no longer works. While he was trying to find, the window above is empty and nothing seems little whatever it is I'm looking for (files, programs, etc.). How to solve this problem? This feature worked for me in the past, that is until now. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate.

Hi zutopia,.

That would explain the behavior of the start menu.

1. create a new user account and to validate that menu start behaves normally in there. Create a user account

2. If so, you can migrate your account to the new settings and resolve the problem. Fix-a-corrupted-profile user

This should be it.

  • Vertical spacing of search results display page has expanded without any manual changes having been filed; None of these changes took place in Google Chrome or IE8.

The result of the problem is that I can't see as much of a page of search results as previously. The change came as a result of an upgrade of Firefox version.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I had one of these manifestations of the dreaded "blue screen" this morning and have been engaged in rescue operations since then. These included a couple of successful procedures, a Malwarebytes scan troubleshooting Windows and a race of CCleaner. I noticed that the condition that I pointed out in the view of Firefox search results page has subsequently rectified itself as easily and inexplicably as it to materialize yesterday!

I'll watch points, of course, in the next days and weeks, but everything now seems to be back to norma for the moment. A big thank you to all who have tried to help with this.

  • Satellite Pro M30 - menu Windows cannot start

    Hello

I have a problem where I can't start something on my computer.
I seem to have two operating systems that come up at startup fistly

When I turn on the computer it freezes for centuries, then says failed 0203 IDE #2 I think it's because as my hard drive broke and I replaced it then I get two options
go to the BIOS or boot menu.

If I boot and I start an another two options either a bad install of windows xp pro, or a bad installation of Windows XP
no work, I can't get into all the bios settings by using the command mode without fail fast or any of these options and it seems to work when I try boot discs to erase the hard drive or the bios boot disks.

I'm almost was to buy a new hardrive that this would maybe cheaper to fix, any help? I no im a beginner but I will be back for all solutions,.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

0203 IDE #2 error is displayed because the device connected to the second IDE controller is not recognized by the BIOS.
This means that there is something wrong with the IDE controller or the connected device.
In most cases it s a CD/DVD drive which is broken.

In this case, the replacement is necessary, but you must use the STRANGE fully compatible!
Not all CD/DVD drives are supported due to different master/slave/c-salt settings.

Now you say that you are not able to access the BIOS
Have you tried the right key? Press F2 during switching on laptop.
    This should help.

But if you are still not able to access the BIOS, then that means that your motherboard is affected
The motherboard is one of the parts expensive laptop the laptop seems to be a good old classic in my opinion it s not worth to replace.

  • Windows 7 starts up but no display

I built recently new gaming platform of my son for his birthday, with a mobo Asus Maximus Gene V and a HD 7870XT, and everything seems to work properly. Installed Windows 7 Pro, drivers and Windows updates, restart periodically without any problem.

After giving the new rig and set up, it now starts without showing the post or Windows screens. I can hear from Windows, but there is no display. If I restart the PC several times I finally get a display indicating the Windows startup, but not the post screen and can connect to Windows normally. If I go back, however, he goes back to multiple with no display boot until I have stop and repeat several times. I tried to update the Catalyst drivers, uninstall drivers Catalyst, running Windows Startup Repair and even by using the system restore to go back to the initial installation of Windows with no updates. Nothing did. The monitor has a single DVI port and is connected to the DVI port only on the GPU.

    Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Hello

This looks strangely like a virus infection or malware. Try the download, installation and enforcement of these scanners; quarantine and remove all infections they find.

    AntiMalwarebytes', here: http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html.  and,

    SuperAntiSpyware, here: http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSpyware-Free-Edition/3000-8022_4-10523889.html.

You didn't say if you have an antivirus application on your machine, but if you haven't, I use and recommend avast, here: http://download.cnet.com/Avast-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10019223.html.

If you are unable to perform one or more of these applications in normal mode, run mode failure (Reboot |) F8 key). Quarantine and remove all infections that discover these three applications.

Let me know how you fare after having executed these antimalware / antivirus apps. If you need additional assistance, please ask specific questions and I'll try to help.

    Hey Nithya,.
You can add your site under a new content type. While prepairing query construct also add a condition to exclude

  • [Solved] Windows 7 start menu search work does not correctly

    Hello
I hope you guys can help me with the following:
As I removed (through the registry) libraries in Windows 7 (see notice at the bottom) I can't find common things such as 'cmd' 'Notepad' or 'calc (tab'ulator)' find the programs installed in the search from the start menu, but CAN FIND paths like C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe. Research in the Solution Explorer window is not affected by this problem. If I try to search for example "cmd" in the search for the start menu it says "no element not corresponding to your research." When I click on "See more results" it shows This popup (click here). So I restored the registry keys, but it will not work correctly again.

FYI: I tried several things to solve this problem but never fixed it:
-see if the Windows Search service and Indexing Service are running (> Yes, auto-start)
-rebuild the index (it indexes 2 additional partitions on my hard drive, C:\Windows, C:\Users, C:\Program Files (x 86)------and standard folders like the Start Menu)
-Uninstall and reinstall Windows Search and Indexing Service (via Windows turn on or off features in the control panel > programs and features)
    -delete the folder C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Search
    -Tools Microsoft FixIt
-Troubleshooting (also the problems search and indexing)
    -create new user account

I forgot something? If so, I'll tell you as soon as I remember.

Can anyone help me please with my w/out problem suggesting to reinstall Windows?

    I use Windows 7 x 64 HomePremium SP1 on a
    AMD Athlon 64 X 2 Dual Core Processor 4200 + 2.42 GHz with
4.00 GB of RAM and 500 GB HARD drive (partitioned into 3 disks).

    Notice:
In order to delete the libraries I removed/edited these registry keys:
    [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\ {031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace\ {031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {2112AB0A-C86A-4ffe-A368-0DE96E47012E}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {491E922F-5643-4af4-A7EB-4E7A138D8174}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {7b0db17d-9cd2-4a93-9733-46cc89022e7c}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {A302545D-DEFF-464b-ABE8-61C8648D939B}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FolderDescriptions\ {A990AE9F-A03B-4e80-94BC-9912D7504104}]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel]
    "{031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5}" = -.

I found a solution by myself.
If you have the same problem I had (really the same with above registry keys), just download this file: https://www.mediafire.com/?s4bt0447gk426r6 inside you will find 3 .reg files:
-to restore the registry keys and resolving the problem of search in the menu start
-through libraries in the start menu folders 'normal '.
-to cancel the passage of libraries in normal files.

To have no problem trying to merge "undo_rem_libs.reg", first give yourself permissions (full control!) of the HKCR\CLSID\ {031E4825-7B94-4dc3-B131-E946B44C8DD5} key by right-clicking on it > permissions... > advance > owner (tab) > click on your username > OK > again once, click your user name (this time in the 'group or user names') > check 'Allow' in the full control row > OK.
That's all! Now you can merge the .reg for restoring above file (see problem) removed key strings with the just installed new Windows 7 original data.

The other .reg files in the archive must be explicit.

    / Edit:
NOTICE: this works on all versions 32 and 64 bit of Windows 7 (not tested on Windows 7 Starter).

  • The Windows 7 Start Menu search / indexing nothing works! Tried everything!

OK Ive spent countless hours of research on this question, ive tried many "bugs" that did not work at all. I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit Edition and here is my problem:

The search for the Start Menu in windows 7 does not show ANYTHING when I type something to search for. No category, no file, no folder, nothing. The only thing that appears is "See more results" at the bottom and everything else is empty. When I click on "See more results" I get an error saying that windows cannot find the search query

    WHAT IVE TRIED:

Ive tried to rebuild the index - always says 0 indexed items and NEVER changes, Ive tried to manually change the location of the index, same result

Ive tried deleted manually the former location of the index, stop the search function, from the search function (both in the options and in regedit), restart the computer and still nothing.

Ive tried Backing removed all find Regkeys, stop manually search in the command prompt, location of the Delete index into the command prompt, restart the search function in the command prompt.

Ive tried to do an in Place Upgrade / repair installation of Windows 7 but he's always said his failure and returned to my current installation of WIN7

Ive double checked to ensure that all my regkeys have the correct values and I have all the correct regkeys

After all that, nothing WORKS STILL! -Yes research is Active, yes the file indexing and drive is chosen correctly, and yes the Search Options for files and folders ARE set up.

Ive seen 3 other emails of Micrsoft argue that users have posted, some people say it arranges, it does NOTHING for me. I always have this problem.

Please, please help me with this, if anyone can help me, you have no idea how much I appreciate it!

I don't know what caused it, but this problem fixed the original problem and you describe for me:
