  The above post describes pretty much exactly what I want to do, but I'm missing something-

  Here's what I would do: I have some customer information I want to merge to an email; the information is not something I necessarily want to hold with my contacts.

  We use Excel to download the lists, because these contacts are not currently in our database. I created a new fusion of field and inserted the fusion in my email. The creation of the merger of field requires linking the merger with Contacts, accounts, events/event Sessions or CDO. My initial assumption was that I would need to create a CDO, I did. So I created from the merger of field, connected to my CDO and inserted the field in the email.

  When I then test the email, I download my segment of the tests. I can't match the data fields to match the fields, additional Excel in fields in Eloqua - I thought that maybe the CDO fields appear as options for matching.

  So, my question is, how do I get data to Excel at the height of my merge field in Eloqua?

  Here is the result:

  You cannot perform a merge via download Excel (IE - trying to create a new segment via upload that contains the data to merge) - I was on the right track, that this should be done through CDO.

  1. create your CDO, upload your Excel file and map on the data card contacts

  -Create a new CDO, adding additional fields that you want to capture

  -Specify 'E-mail address' in the full name, the Unique ID and the email address fields. I also set the Group By field to the E-mail address and the type of entity as Contacts with new Email Address field.

  -When you transfer your Excel file with records to merge, be sure to map downloaded from the data card contacts (custom object > download custom object records). In the wizard in step 4 - resulting Actions to download, make sure that the card data card check box is selected. Real do not know why you ever not wanted - it seems to me that you can't do much without it.

  2. create your field field Email merges mergers

  -map to your CDO fields

  3. Insert the field merges in your email

  That of about it - if anyone has any additional info or corrections on the above, let me know. Hope this helps-

• Comma in the subject line after the merger of field

  I'm trying to create a fusion of our contact, followed a first name field comma and space, then the subject line.

  The kicker is, I don't want the comma (and space) will appear if we do not have a name associated with the e-mail address...  How can I do this?

  Here's what I have so far...

  < eloqua type = "emailfield" syntax = "FirstName" > name < / eloqua > line object here...

  I would like the result of the following:

  w/name:  Rob, line topic here...

  no name: Line of subject here...

  I tried to insert a comma and a space in various locations in the merge field code with no luck.

• How to add a sequential number or random as a merger of field?

  I created a landing page of confirmation which must be sent to an external site for tracking purposes. As one of the URL attributes, I need to assign a unique ID for the transaction, but the problem is that I can't use the email address.

  So my thought was that I created a random number and use it as id I checked the Math App in the cloud connectors, but realized that this only works in the campaign workflow. Then I thought so maybe some PHP in the destination page would help, but that is not taken care of.

  Any ideas on what I can do to fix this problem? A sequential number would be great but not necessary, so I figure that if it's long enough so a random number should not be repeated and will be able to work for my needs.

  I see two options:

  (1) you might actually be able to use the Math cloud connector in this case. To do this, start by creating a new field in the contact table to hold the random numbers, then set this field as a merge field (assets > creating a new Email > merge field > New). Now, you just need to run the Math Cloud Connector step in your Web of campaign, do fill this field of database for you and don't forget to add the merge field at the end of your URL as a query string.

  (2) the simplest option is to use the Eloqua user as a fusion variable id. If the Eloqua user ID is not yet an option of merger on your instance, simply follow the steps to set up a merge field (assets > creating a new Email > merge field > New) and choose the Eloqua user ID, now add at the end of your URL. It works even better that which precedes because area you guaranteed to have a unique value per user. If you need a unique value per visit, then I think that freejungof response would work very well, especially if you concatenate the JavaScript random number with the user id.

  I set up a custom field type = LIEN_HYPERTEXTE, this load an anchored in my text. By clicking on this hyperlink opens a new window of the browser as with target = _blank. I can add this property to the tag somehow, like {tag_customfield, _blank} or something?

  Nope. You can do it with javascript or a text field and create your own link.

• Active RichText Field hyperlink does not

  All my research indicates that the following should give me a hyperlink to a web page. For example, I click on the underlined text and the browser starts and displays the web page.

  Make sure that you have added DEFAULT_MENU to your PopupScreen style - this should give you the context menu when the user clicks on the active element. The menu should have the choice of 'Get Link'.

  If you have a result set that includes NULL values and export you them to 'Fixed' format, any NULL field does not include spaces appropriate between it and the next field. Here's a test case and an example of the problem:

• HTML Editor: are there known with field bugs merges into hyperlinks?

  The strange thing is I managed to get this merger of field working in other emails, but when you use exactly the same syntax for email newly uploaded - it breaks.

  Anyone have any idea why this is happening? There are the known bugs with the HTML editor or any workaround that exist?

  Have you added this link? Whenever we send a link with a fusion of field, you must disable the monitoring, otherwise the link appears just as it did in your example, with code fusion instead of the merged data.

  If this isn't the problem, have you checked the obvious candidates first: that the merger of field is correctly implemented, as recipients have contained in the appropriate field in the database, etc.. ? If you want just send test emails to yourself, it is possible that you have not contained in your file? If you have it right in your example, make sure that it is without the quotes in the span for the URL tag.

  I am preparing an email that will come "from" beneficiary relationship managers (RM).  In the email will be the Mr e-mail address.  I would like to make the clickable address so that it creates a new email from the platform of e-mail recipients.

  Technically, we do not use merge field twice. We are inserting a mailt to post a link (with the field even fusion) for the merger of field we have first inserted

  I am trying to build the URL for a blind form submission, but I'm stuck on the merge field code.

  So for static values, it would be & [html name] = [static value], but for mergers field, I think he needs a class < span > but not sure what to put after < span class = [XXXXXX] > or in this space here < / span >

  The merger of field would be inserted in the text of text box. Disable the right text box then click on the text box and click change source.   Move the merger of HTML field in the URL submission (a href attribute) blind form.

  We would like to dynamically add the id to contact SFDC email recipient (which is an existing merge Eloqua field) in the query string of a url in an e-mail message to follow the results of the survey through zoomerang. (for example www.zoomerang.com/survey/aa3w4roafadfos?contactid=#sfdccontactid# where sfdccontactid is the merged field.

  Merger of field, you can generate the HTML code required for the merger of field uttering one in your email and then merge in the email your work with.  Discover the grab HTML HTML field merging and post it in your URL.  Commonly, the syntax would be 'SFDC_ContactID1' or something of the sort (this is depends on the merge field name). In your particular case, the finished HTML code would look like, "SFDC_ContactID1">."

• Separate the merge fields with tabs, how to remove if there is no data

  I have a document of Idesign which merges the field from a csv file. Merging documents fields are separated by a tab, for example:

  {1001} {1002} {1003}

  {2002} {2003} {2001}

  {3001} {3002} {3003}

  
  etc.

  In some cases there is no data available in the csv file. This translates into a line blank in the document with only 2 tabs. Because the actual number of letters generated is huge to delete empty lines. How to solve this problem? Is there a way to only use the tabs if there is data in the fields and remove the line if no data is available?

  This string GREP only matches lines that contain nothing but the tabs and not match any line that made a valid data entry. If you used regular and right indent tabs you need to change to ^ [\t~y]+\r

• Clear a field of data card/CDO

  We are working on sending emails that will have a merge field to a data card/CDO object that is sometimes filled out and sometimes not; merged field of emails are sent through program generator when merging field no those are batched. After the merged field email is sent from the Builder program, we want to clear this field on the data card, so that if we batch email from contact with another email, the merger of field will be empty and not present information completely foreign to the emailed batch. Is it possible to do in E10? I can't find an option for it in the program generator. The only work around us would think has been implemented the merger of field as a piece of dynamic content and add a contact field that gets checked when the merger of field CDO / Data Card is necessary and not controlled when it's not like this can be done in the program generator.

  If your goals is to update the field and future data communications player card... I think that there are few options, but the one I can suggest the use of the program generator.

  In the program generator.

  Create a program that takes the contacts it is a member.

  1. check if the email you want to send using email that address data slag is sent? If Yes

  2. take contact with Cloud connector for submit and add static value as empty (Leavve it blank)

  Form...

  3. create the form and map all data fields to a custom form to this exact object with a value field empty

  4. use and field to future communications drive additional Fusion by email.

• Area merges CDO linked to an account?

  We have created some CDO that is related to the Eloqua accounts/business objects - these CDOS contain data of product performance.  We have > 1 contacts associated with an account - it's why we model the data in this way.  I have created a new merge field field using the data field of this CDO but failed to get the merger of field to fill in the information.  When I asked Eloqua support they tell me I have to map the field CDO for the Contact object - that defeats the purpose of creation of the LCO at first.  We didn't store this information on the Contact.

  Can someone tell me if this should feature is not supported?

  This seems to be an anomaly in the functionality of segmentation and fusion of field capacity.  I can build segments looking CDO related to accounts - however I can't use these data for field merges and filters.  Frustrating because we built filters and segments using this data model and then discovered our customization will not work.  Suppose that we must change the mapping.
