message from incoming mail with attachments with designation [Virus error]

I received some emails with attachments from known users.  Some of them have [error Virus] leading to the subject of the message and they're going in my spam box.

Where/why would they pick up the designation [error Virus]?

Should I worry about the opening, messages or attachments? (one attachment is a spreadsheet excel, the other a csv file).

Thank you!

Dee Dee

It's either people who send mail - which may in fact be the people you think it is, because it is trivially easy to falsify the sending of information, BTW - it is from your ISP mail server or an intermediate mail server or you have loaded a few add-on software that runs locally on your OS X system and who is doing this.

Microsoft Office files are a marvelously effective way for via macro malware problems.

Another thing that can cause this specific error is analysis even if she worked for years of e-mail messages.

  • Everytime I turn on my email I receive thousands of messages from the mail administrator how to stop it?

Everytime I turn on my Outlook Express I get thousands of messages from mail administrator how to stop this?

You had incorrectly posted your message in Office Outlook forum.  I moved to this forum.

Looks like someone is using your e-mail address as the address of the sender of junk mail and you see NDRs from when mail is sent to non-existent addresses.  It is not uncommon, and it ends by goes its own.  You can try to create a rule to remove these non-delivery reports, or you can connect to your mailbox using a web browser and create a rule it if Outlook Express never sees the messages.

  • Cannot send e-mail messages from Windows mail

When I try to send an email from windows mail, it gets stuck in Outlook and said I need the POP3 server.  I have followed before a mode page 8 on what he should do but does always the same thing.  Why do I have the server appropriate for something that has been installed before I bought my computer?

Your post makes no sense. How a Windows Mail message could get stuck in Outlook? You have an account set up in Windows Mail?

Please post any error message in its entirety. You can left click on it to highlight then right click to copy and then paste in this thread.

  • Import e-mail messages from Windows mail to outlook 2007

I damaged an old laptop and the hard drive is now in a case that I can access via USB.

I want to transfer my emails from WIndows Mail in the old hard drive to Outlook 2007 into my laptop current. How to do this please?

    Hi Tony,.

You can always open Windows mail? In this case: the open, select the e-mail messages you want to copy, create a folder on a USB or other portable device, paste messages, transport the unit, open, select all the messages and copy it (ctrl + c), then paste in Outlook.

The official way would be: file, import and Export Wizard. But I'm sure you will all future posts.

    Kind regards

  • Installed windows 7 and windows live mail. now I want to import my messages from windows mail, and they will not matter. I really need the messages because they have a lot of important information in them.

Would be really happy for any help.  The application tells me that they have been moved to the storage area, but they are not there.

    Help.

Is your username mentioned in the tab security for storage files and all subfolders, and has 'full control '?

If these files are really empty then the transfer/import routine failed for some unknown (to me) reason.

Have you tried to copy all old messages from the Windows.old folder, put in a file in your user name for example Documents and then import from there?   It is perhaps necessary to remove to another location in the current storage folder in Windows Live Mail rather than simply delete before rerunning the import program.

Have you tried to temporarily disable your anti program virus and other security programs to see if that blocks emails appear?

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click on your drive icon / properties / tools / error checking.  First try checking not be (read-only) to see if it reports any problems file or hard drive.  If this is the case, start by checking the two boxes, in no other rerun.

  • I had problems to send messages from windows mail. My ISP tried to help without result. Can windows mail be completely uninstalled and reinstalled without problems

My mail winedows never gave me any problems.  One day it just wouldn't let me send email.  Many calls and the help of my ISP and hours of typing in info on their part still never solved the problem.  I wonder if I can uninstall the windows messaging, reinstall direct mail, then put in the settings manually or is it pre-fill my previous version information.

There is usually a little more of an error message, but... Try to compact and repair the database.

Also, make sure that your antivirus will not e-mail scan.

  • I keep getting messages from the center of Action McAfee Anit-virus, Anti-spyware & firewall disabled, as well as Windows Firewall

It started after a message popped up on Adobe Reader and I deleted it.  I tried to run applications without success.

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and forums thanks for posting the question. According to the description, you get messages from the center of the Action as McAfee and the Windows Firewall is disabled.

Please answer a few questions to refine the question.

    1. you remember to make changes to the computer before this problem?
    2. you have more of a security software installed?

Anti virus definitions update and check the status

Method 1: I suggest you to enable and disable the Security Center
    service in Windows 7:
    a. click the Start button, type services.msc and pressenter.
    b. in the list of Services, right click on Security Center, clickingProperties
    and select disabled.
    c. restart your computer.
    d. once again, follow steps a and b, and then select Automatic (delayed start)
    e. start the Service.

Method 2: You can uninstall and reinstall the security software and check.

    Method 3:

Restore the system to an earlier point before installing this application.

System Restore can return your files system to a point in time before you noticed a problem, without affecting documents, photos, or other personal files. If the system restore does not resolve the problem, you can undo the restore operation and choose a different restore point.

  • Get a message from Zonealarm saying it has found a virus, is iehost.exe a virus?

When you run Internet Explorer, I get a message from Zonealarm which tells me that it has found a virus. This virus is iehost.exe. What is and how to remove it if it is not a Windows program?

IEHost.exe is an advertising program. This process monitors your browsing habits and distributes the data to the author for the Analysis servers. This also leads advertising popups. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system.

It is not a virus but should be considered spyware and a Pup (potentially unwanted program).

Let your AV remove it even if it does not harm your computer, you do not want to be spied on.

  • Why do I get multiple incoming messages in Windows Mail, with Vista Home Premium.

About 4 weeks ago I started having 2 copies of each incoming e-mail.  I did a system restore to a month before that without change.  I unchecked "leave a copy on the server", who has worked, but now I've lost a few hundred emails that have been backed up on my ISP server and coronal mass ejections each email through OK, but did not stay on the server with the box unchecked.  I did a restore of the system from the original date and now I get incoming emails in triplicate.

I do not see anywhere to disable "e-mail scanning" in my AV (Cox Security Suite) HELP program!

Make sure that you do not have two copies of the account mail under Tools | Accounts since this is the usual reason in WinMail for having multiple copies of the same messages.  If this isn't the issue, you can try compacting and repairing the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  If this does not work, then you will need the possibility of antivirus software.  I uninstall, and then delete the email account, compact and repair the database and then add the account back again.  Then see if it works.  If so, get something less invasive such www.microsoft.com/security_essentials , then under settings, clear the file eml are analyzed.  See also www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm for general information.

See if that helps at all.

  • Error message from the mail server to start with open Manager-password

When I start TB the password manager ask me the master password.
When I do not write the master password directly with in 60 seconds, I get an Errormessage of the Mail-Server!
Why connect TB for the mail server before writing the master password in the InputMask password manager?
    Pref..:
    "mail.startup.enabledMailCheckOnce", false
    "mail.server.server1.login_at_startup", true
    "mail.server.server1.check_new_mail", true
    "mail.server.server1.check_time", 30
    "mail.server.server1.download_on_biff", true
    "mail.server.server1.headers_only", false
    "mail.server.server1.leave_on_server", false
Fig 1 is directly after starting TB
Photo 2 is after 60 seconds

I guess that's the effect you described:

When I do not write the master password directly with in 60 seconds, I get an Errormessage of the Mail-Server!

You can try to install this add-on.
    https://addons.Mozilla.org/en-us/Thunderbird/addon/StartupMaster/

This should stop from trying to access the account before entering the password to Thunderbird.
Note, it is in no way a measure of security.
