I have a home edition of windows xp but slip listened to SP3, the installation when it asks for the product key, I enter my windows xp home edition original product key, but he says that this key is invalid, please check that you have not done it and try again
If your key is issued for SP3, then it is possible that slipstraming does not include the update to recognize th ew SP3 batch of authorized keys.
It is also possible that you used the wrong type of disc for the base of your wake - if the key is an OEM, you must use an OEM for installation and same disc, a disc of detail for a touch of detail.

I bought a pc used with windows 7, however, the product key is not valid. I would like to get Windows 8. What would be my best course of action?
In my opinion your best course of action would be to buy and clean, install a license of system builders.

Windows anytime upgrade, the product key is not valid
My laptop is with pre installed Windows7 professional edition, and I have a new product key WAU (Home premium-> NEC) in hand. When I tried this product key in the Express Windows upgrade process, I received a message "product key is not valid.
Is the installed version must be exactly the same with the WAU product key pack? I think of my installed Professional is an advanced version of Home Premium. Why not the product key be compatible?
Any contribution is appreciated!

Win Vista Home Basic product key is not valid
I bought Vista Home Basic a wile ago. Now I've updated it. I want to reformat my PC, so I insert the DVD of Vista, and when I enter my product key I get the message "the key is incorrect. How can I fix it, I need to remove the updates or something?
Hi cheater39,
If you reinstall Vista you will have to update any new. If the operating system works very well, so it is useless to re - install in order to re - install. Once, re - install if you have multiple problems that can easily be corrected, and then reinstall is a "last" resort option
You say you bought Vista Home Basic. I suppose, therefore, that you went into a store and bought a full retail copy? If so, the product key number is on the case. If you bought it from another source, for example, Internet, ebay etc (except direct from Microsoft) then you know that it's a genuine product key and not a copy hacked?
It is in fact a copy of 'upgrade '? If so you need to install your "old" operating system first, for example, Windows XP and upgrade then.
Check and recheck the code product key that you insert. If it continues to say the key is not valid, resume the DVD in the store that you bought it and ask them to check it for you. You can also contact the Microsoft Customer service in your own country - you should find one address number and/or e-mail on the Microsoft Web site.
You can actually install Vista without product key by simply letting the dialog box empty product key and then pressing the next button. A message will appear in which you must press the No button. A list of the versions of Vista should then appear. Select the version that you have, for example, Vista Home Basic, press Next, then it should install. No you get away without putting the product key in. Although Windows Vista has been installed it works for a while, but it would give you time, we hope, sort out the product key number. After that the time scheduled (30 days I think) you will need to enter the correct product key otherwise Vista will simply stop working. This option is not ideal, but it will give you as small period of "grace." If you cannot sort the product key on or, heaven forbid, you ended up buying a pirated copy, you will have no real alternative but to buy another legitimate copy.
I suggest you use my last suggestion as a "last resort" option Try to install on another machine to see if the product key works, or taking it back to the shop and ask them why it won't install.

Satellite P105-S6197 - after that the Windows XP Home edition installation DVD is not readable
Hello everyone (sorry for my English) :)
I buy Satellite P105-S6197 with Vista Home Premium (RUS). Immediately, I formatted the HARD drive and installed WIN XP PRO without any problem. All drivers installed, correct and in Device Manager have no unknown devices.
But after the operation my Win XP does not read the DVD, CD - no problem. I try to boot from any bootable - no success DVD, disc not reading. In the BIOS I normally see information DVD player.
What can I do to diagnose my problem?
Maybe some MS updates, update BIOS...
Please help me :)Hello

Mhhh is s a Toshiba model we designed and delivered by US.
Thus, you should use the Tosh site to download driver.I have check the pilot US page didn t find the XP drivers and it's one reason why I asked.
I would recommend when even update the Win XP OS on the latest state. This means that you should visit the Microsoft site and should perform a patch test!

Home Edition product key in Deperate need
I upgraded my computer Windows Vista Home Edition to Windows 7 Home Edition years ago, until very recently, I experienced a HARD drive failure, I need the Windows 7 Home Edition product key to download the Windows7 Home Edition ISO from Microsoft site, I have Windows Vista Home Edition product key, is possible that I can the product key of Windows 7 Edition family?
What is the problem with the WIndows 7 disc? How did you create it exactly? Here, others reported recently that imgburn has worked to extract the image file and then after removing ei.cfg burn to a fresh DVD with ImgBurn speed 4 x. Andre gave you another tool to try.
Then what I would do is try to write ISO Flash stick with Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool or if it rejects the ISO as it often (because it is fussy) then use UltraISO software to create Bootable USB Flash Drive that always works. Then start the stick using the BIOS boot menu key.

Original title: help with error message... Please...!
I use a desktop PC of HP Pavilion a6202.uk with Windows Vista Home Premium & Microsoft Office 2003. When I am back from vacation & turned on my PC, my password was OK, but rather to raise Windows, I received the following message: "Windows Vista Home Premium product key you typed in is invalid for activation. He then listed the following options: "access your computer with reduced functionality (this will allow you to buy a product online key)" or "Type a different product key" or "contact HP to help solve this problem."
I have no idea what a product key is and don't have anything either in the type comes to connect as usual. I can't access anything to be same to reduced functionality. I can not type in a new product key because I did not. I can not contact HP - phone number does not... !!
I'm quite desperate, I travel docs to print and e-mail to answer and I don't have any idea what is happening. Please can someone help with this not very IT clued-up DTP...!
Moved from Vista programs Forum.
You should have a sticker with the product key on your computer, on the bottom, or under the battery cover. I try to type this key in and see if it accepts it. If this isn't the case, you might not have an authentic version of Windows installed.

When my ET1161-07 came back from repair, it was so empty of software that even my "copy of Windows is not genuine", as it appears in the lower right. Due to this fact, I have no protection, either. I followed the instructions on the screen to type in the product key code that I found on the sticker on the casing of the machine (I had him bought at Costco, with preinstalled Vista Edition Home Premium, with no backup disk included), but the box would not accept even the next character to come at some point, to Midway. As a result, my window of Activation of Windows said I typed in the product key is not valid for activation, and I have to either buy a new online, or type a different product key or contact Dell to help solve this problem. Could you please help me with this? Fortunately, Istvan
Hello
First thing I would do is to take this computer to the place/person fixing it and demand that they fix it properly.
We don't know where they got the Vista disk/license since they were installed.
