  If you hear information in your profile, then these intentially access files are rejected if the user cannot cause any harm.  However, if you want to get for them anyway, then right click on the folder to which you are denied access (this operation on your username folder can do the trick for all or most of them, but I'm not sure if just those that you need access to).  Click Properties and then click the Security tab.  If your name is included click Edit and change it to full right (if not add your username and give it all the rights).  Don't forget to check the box to apply the change to all files and subdirectories as well.  Click Advanced, and then do the same in the special permissions section in the bottom half.  Once this is done, you should be able to access this folder and everything within it.

  Here is some additional information about permissions and ownership may be useful here or in the future:

  To solve this problem with folders, folders takeownership or the reader (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). • Converted library to DNG now what about the other files?

  Just, I crossed the step and converted all my images CR2 to DNG, replacing the originals.

  However, I have always all sidecar JPEG files left over. Can I safely delete these, or are they held by the DNG?

  Also, I was using before the option to write the XMP sidecar files. With DNG is there any real need to continue to do this?

  Lightroom won't care. If you made adjustments to the RAW outside LR, those who are saved in the file .xmp. You should have read the metadata of the file in order to bring them into the LR catalog. But now that the orginal FIRST disappeared, I don't think that it works now in any case (it's worth a shot if you must, however). Now, if you did all your editing in LR than to go ahead and delete the JPEG and xmp files.

  As for your other question, you can always write metadata to the file, but with DNG, metadata are embedded in the dng itself and not a separate xmp file. You never had to write metadata in the file, though.  This info has been and is in the catalog/preview files. In doing so, just allows you to make this info in other applications.

  Data Prefetch rebuild itself providing the Task Scheduler service is set to automatic, the Task Scheduler runs a routine every three days it will rebuild the files.

  I don't see how this (removing prefetch files) would cause problems with Word 2003 or any other application.  It might make them a little slower to load, but it shouldn't cause any problems with the programs themselves, they do not need the prefetcher to work properly.

  The value of the automatic task scheduler and if files don't rebuild on the next reboot, run this command:

  Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll, ProcessIdleTasks

  This will force a rebuild of the Prefetch data.

  I need to recover a lost Inbox (lost due to a failure). The file to the Inbox in the profile folder is somehow cleaned as if the record has been compacted and some new emails have been added. I have run a recovery of files on this disc, but now have thousands of files with names like Raw122354 and don't know what to look for, because the Inbox file has no extension. I can remove those with file extensions I don't know, but that still leaves too many to go through.

  Messaging files are text files, so yes, you can open them with a text editor. I wouldn't try to open a file of messages Gigabyte with Notepad however.
  There is no need to rename the file with a .txt extension, it can be opened with any text editor without worrying.

It cannot be used to something else because it's just a mess of colors and unknowns, except for what looks like a 'top' and what I recognize as an icon of Firefox (but only partially visible)! Now, what he does, it's partly hide this part all the toolbars and they are difficult to read and to do to turn this 'thing' impossible to understand, if I keep to? I can't find in any case to remove it or use it? But since the icon of Firefox is about it, I think you need to know what it is and how trash. When looking at the properties it shows that the majority of the disc is full, only 30 gigs for free the 160 GB drive. I don't understand why I can't access to find one of my old files.
