Does anyone know why my image2 does not get reduced in the image2.scaleImage32 () method?

Your question is that peter has stressed in his first comment. The value supplied to scale32 is not the size scale factor you want to scale. In your example, you say you want to scale the image by a factor of 100 and 200. You need the functions of Fixed32.div(x,y) to get the report you want to scale and provide to the scale32 function.

Outside of masochistic fun, what is the advantage of using the second of these two methods, or, in other words, what are the flaws in the technique of Apple?

The first method requires to download the installer every time the procedure is performed and then wait several hours for it to download, in addition to having a reliable Internet connection. The other doesn't.

I think the Firefox version 34 tomorrow will have TLS 1.0 minimum it will use and not SSL 3.0
