  This is a complete scam and one that has become very common these days. Microsoft never does such calls. Don't think anything such a caller said, do nothing that he tells you to do and hang up on him immediately.

  I just had a person claiming to be from Microsoft on the phone.  It asked me to enter a code and run it on my computer.  I refused and hung up as I suppose it's a scam!  Has anyone else had such a call?

  It seems that there was a rash of these types of calls that flow. DON'T spend any time on the phone with them. It's a big scam and they are phishing for your personal information. DO NOT do anything they say, or give them all vital data.

  After that, I hung up on him, and he won't stop bothering me. Now, in all my years of having a computer and my computer spoil on me not a widows nobody called me to inform me what it is. I always had to call them, which is reasonable. I want to know if it is legitimate, which I doubt, and if I can understand how he got my phone number if I can keep someone else to do.
