    Hi Nancy,.

    Encryption of files and folders is a way to protect against unauthorized access. EFS (ENCRYPTING File System) is a Windows feature that you can use to store information on your hard disk in an encrypted format. Encryption is the best protection that Windows provides to help you keep your information secure.

    You can make a folder and then encrypt it.

  • I keep getting phone calls from people with heavy accents who say they call from microsoft and the need to check my computer because of all the error messages I'm supposed to be getting.is it real

    I continue to receive calls telephone of people with heavy accents who say they call Microsoft because of all tha error messages I'm supposed to be getting - which I don't get. I just got the phone with one and convinced him to remember on Friday at noon, Central time. He asked me to give him the remote control of my computer so that it can "fix." I can't believe its "real and he can't give me details about what the problems are." I wasn't about to let him have access to the computer I'm on right now because of his "unusual operating system and all the time and effort it took to get this set-up and at full load." I'll be at my weekend House when it calls Friday where I have a more conventional computer. Is this real or a hoax?

    SCAM.
    You have made the right choice. Do NOT give the scammer remote access, or your computer is "screwed".

    The next time the scammer call, hang UP.

    Take a look at these phony support calls:

  • Microsoft calls the people to report hackers access your computer

    I received a call from someone who claims to be from Microsoft saying that he had tried to reach me with messages pop up for 5 weeks to report that my computer has beed pirate.  They asked me to type int CMD in the start menu and then read a line of the type that started with "send to the target."  I was suspicious, but allowed them to transfer me to a technician who wanted to help me get rid of the intruder.  I asked for a number where I could call back them, and he argued that "hacker could be tuned" says so they would call me in return a number, I could see.  Pending their appeal, I did a quick search to see if anyone from MIcrosoft never call customers about the problems of this kind.  All the results, said that MS never calls visitors unless a ticket has been opened.  When they recalled that I asked wherever they called and they said in Brampton, but the number she gave me was not an exchange of Brampton.  Every question I asked foreign led and answers by a stranger, I told them white point that I felt it was a scam.  At this point, my technician has hung up.

    Is Microsoft never contact with customers all the so-called "pirates"?

    Nope. It's a scam. Microsoft will not call you unless you initiate the call or support ticket.

    Do not give them any information, or give them access to your PC.
  • Microsoft called the owners of computers on the virus?

    I recently got a call at my place of residence of a person saying that they were calling from Microsoft and that they were receiving error messages from my computer as a malicious virus was downloaded on my computer. They really say this without having access to my computer and what they are doing he used to call people to their personal residences? When I tried to tell the person that I don't download games or music on my computer, he said "I don't trust you." I was pretty shocked and hung up, but then I started second guessing myself. Someone at - he heard of this? Is this some kind of scam?

  • Microsoft called the individual clients directly indicating they received an error report?

    I would like to done knowledge individual customer contact direct Microsoft indicating that they have received REPORTS of MISTAKES from my PC and then continue to tell me to turn on my computer, go to start etc. I said that I did not send error reports, but the person at the other end becomes very insistent that I have a problem. I did not follow their instructions at any time and to date I have now been contacted 4 times the most recent being about 20 minutes ago. I just might be too cautious, but it's something Microsoft did? For your info, it's always a lady or man with an Asian accent. Thank you very much.

  • call the problem of validating programmatically

    I call commit by a method of bean program. I had entered all of the required fields, but when I call commit it displays error requiring areas are not registered. If I put autosubmit required fields then its O.K. But I want to do it programmatically as parameter autosubmit to many areas is a lot of time. Is there a method that can be called upon to present data to the server before calling commit.

    I use Jdev 12 c.

    Bean method is

    {} public void handleEnterEvent (EC ClientEvent)

    getBindings ().getOperationBinding("Commit").execute ();

    }

    Concerning

    Then, you try to Commit without submitting the form data, and then wonder why 'required field error' happens?

    Here is a way to submit the form in javaScript:

      var form = document.getElementById('myformOrWhateverClientIdItHas');
      form.submit();

    Right after that, you can try calling Commit

  • Is Dell really able to detect malicious software on our computers and do they call real people about this?

    I received calls of (888) 272-2357 and (866) 795-5597 (the latter figure is real support Dell) almost every day. I answered the first time and they led him off because I was at work. Later, I did a quick search on Google and found out that it was a possible scam. Is this always true? I saw the post it in the forum, but the link provided is broken. Could someone please clarify? I'm also suspicious because I have complete scans every night with Malwarebytes and nothing shows ever...

    Any "cold-calling" that you receive from DeLL, Microsoft, your ISP, or any other party, claiming that they were tuned to your use of the computer and discovered a virus/malware, is a SCAM.   Hang up on them and forget about it.

  • I recently bought a vista computer to an office auction. The problem is that this computer is password protect, I do not know the password. Is there a way I can fix this?

    I'm not computer. Is there a simple way, I can solve this problem?

    Hello

    Microsoft prohibits any help given in these forums to bypass or 'crack' the lost or forgotten passwords.

    Tips from Microsoft is to reinstall the operating system.

    If no disk not supplied with the computer, contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of Vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system.

    Normally, they do this for a small fee.

    Also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive that you can use to reinstall Vista.

    With many brands of computer, you have to press F10, F11, etc at startup to start this process.

    Ask them the exact key sequence.

    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

    If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key determines which Edition is installed.

    Builders recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

    See you soon.
