    SCAM.

This is general advice that give us on telephone calls from people claiming to be from Microsoft.

Either these so-called "Microsoft" Tech companies want to sell you a worthless software, or remote access to your computer to try to steal your credit card and bank information and also achieve an identity theft on you.

You are the only person who knows if you gave them remote access.

If you gave them remote access and you do Internet banking, contact your bank, to explain, and change passwords.

If you use your online credit card, cancel and get a new one issued to you.

And the only way that willl you know that you are free to them is to backup your data and do a clean install of your operating system.

  • Microsoft Streets & TRIPS 2007 license

I have Microsoft streets & trips 2007. I want to install it on a USB key so I can use it on both computers. The license agreement says I can only have it installed on a device at a time, and a USB key is a device. It would be in the license of a computer uninstall it and reinstall it on another, so I think that would be nice; It's just a way to speed up the process. I think that the reason behind the rule is while I do not give to a friend or have my family use it for two trips at the same time or something. I'm not going to use it on several computers at the same time, so I don't see a problem, but it is questionable, since it is not specifically mentioned. Sorry to post this here; probably, you guys don't know how to work Microsoft licensing agreements. But I contacted Microsoft and after giving me the evasive bureaucratic, they sent me here. They also told me that the streets & trips 2007 is obsolete - if this is the case, is also obsolete license, and I have to worry not at all?

  • How do you find your character of Microsoft Windows XP 25 # license?

I just bought a mac and I need Microsoft license # out of my old dell computer. Where do you find the license 25 characters # (which I need to complete the installation of the VMware software that allows you to run windows on a mac.

You need a license to run XP on/in any computer/software.

If XP is preinstalled on your Dell computer, it is classified as an OEM license and is not transferable.

The license of XP OEM is related to the original computer it is installed on and dies with the computer.
You cannot transfer it to another computer/laptop

  • License of Microsoft XP Professional OEM supplied with sticker pasted on the OEM machine

    Hello

I have a question about the legitimate use of the Microsoft XP Professional OEM license with the sticker stuck on HP machines. A few months back, I bought a few these old desktops from a local supplier. These machines have Microsoft XP Professional sticker pasted on the body of office (the label also mentions that the license must be sold separately). I also formatted the machines and installed XP Professional on the machines once more and activated the XP online button glued on the desktop.

My dealer told me that these are the OEM licenses and they will so that the Office on which they were installed. If the office is sold to anyone, it is legitimate to the buyer to use the Windows XP operating system on this office legally. I want a reconfirmation on it. Can someone please advise?

    Thanks in advance.

    Amadou makhtar

    Hi Nathalie,.

If the PC is sold on the copy of Windows can go with it. (With an OEM license simply means that one) the permit is cheaper than a retail license and b) the licensed software cannot be installed on the original machine. In other words, you cannot use the Windows XP CD, you have to install another copy of Windows on another machine. It should always be installed on the first machine on which you installed.

While versions of the software 'detail' are more expensive, the buyer is not limited, as would be an OEM. For example, with a copy to the detail, you can install on a machine, then after a few years, this machine of the scrap and re - install copy of Windows on a new machine. An OEM copy you can only install on the first PC. If that PC is finally abandoned the software license dies with him.

I use an old Vista solution of "as admin" and now I get a box asking if it is to change this program (register I think).  How can I stop this box to appear? Thank you.

  • Is Microsoft Licensing has changed for server products?

    Dear all,

We got the information that Microsoft has changed its licensing of what she felt earlier.

We opened the folder with VMware support, but they are not as that educated to understand what the customer asks.

So we thought that we will put Jules Destrooper before you all people.

    Earlier:

Each VM required to get a license .

    Now:

If we load Windows Server Enterprise Edition, and then three numbers of VM instances are FREE

    Is this correct?

    Comments welcome!

    . : : [ [a s h X ]]: : .

If you have Windows Server Standard VMs then each VM should have its own license.

Windows Enterprise allows you to run 4 virtual machines on a particular host (more host if you want, but only to support VMs, or host more than 3 VMs).

Windows Datacenter allows you to run an unlimited number of virtual machines on the particular host.

  • License number of the OS

    Hi Tom!
According to the Microsoft statement, if your license is legitimate, you should have a Microsoft sticker (usually located under the portable) where the key of Vista is printed.
I think that you used this to install the Vista operating system on your laptop.
If so, maybe you have forgotten to activate your installation of Vista.
You may be able to do it using the procedure in line or talking on the phone to Microsoft people.

  • Compaq 6000: No System Recovery Manager, saying microsoft 'product preinstalled' therefore give not ISO

    Hi all

I bought a HP a while ago and have a new purpose for her, the machine itself got slow recently, and rather than try to fix the cause, I just wanted to wipe the OS and start over.

I went to microsoft and gave my license key but they said that the product has come pre-installed on the system, and as such I should look at the manufacturer's recovery options

When I went looking online options that I pointed to the Manager of recovery that HP provides, but which is not installed on my operating system. Then I went to HP to download the Recovery Manager, but he is not listed as software under my combination of operating system and the product.

So what are my options, windows is doesn't give me not the ISO to reformat my drive HARD and HP doesn't have the required software to format either!

I can get the windows 7 ISO easy, but I would be very worried that I could delete the OS and then my valid product key could be rejected because it's for pre-installed software.
If someone could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated

You can use any disk installation and apply the key located on the COA of the PC sticker (not the one that you see in the properties of the computer that has "OEM" in the middle). But you must have the same distribution - e.g. Home Premium 64-bit. The key to this would not work on a Home Premium 32 bit or 64 bit professional.
  • Paper volume license

I have just started a business and you plan to have 5 calculates. I followed questions

    1. can I I opt for Open value (Volume Licensing) purchase 5 licenses with payment in advance.

    2. must have a FPP before we opted for the open license.

    3. If one of my computer (from set of 5) is hardware problem and is not repairable.

Now if I buy a new machine and install the o/s then is it considered as legal.

I mean Open License value allows for use on the new computer if the former turns off.
