Microsoft Flight Simulator: Gold Edition Windows 8 compatibility

I recently bought a new desktop PC Windows 8. Before buying this, I called the Microsoft customer service (which was a horrible experience overall) and they confirmed that my version of FSX IS compatible. Then, I bought the PC and loaded the game on my computer. The game was running, so I decided to change the air traffic at high. Within 2 seconds, the game crashed. That is to say the frequency of horrific images on FSX for Windows 8. I then tried to open the game and this note came: error ID = 25null Just to indicate, the 2nd time I bought FSX; the first copy I bought for my old computer on Windows Vista. The memory card and the graphics have been destroyed because of the game. (I do not understand how it is possible to make it work on Windows XP.) The 2nd for my new computer Windows 8. Then, once more I am my way through to the right person customer support, and he said that my version of FSX is not compatible with Windows 8. Then... I really need a clear answer... Thank you!

Evan,

Go to C:\Program files\Microsoft Games, flight Simulator X, find the FSX file. EXE and right click on it. And select send to - desktop (create shortcut).

Try to open the file. If it fails with the same error, then right-click on it and click Properties.

Place a check on "run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows 7 or earlier versions.

Let us know the results.

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator Gold Edition product key does not work.

just bought microsoft flight sim gold Edition. I have flight sim X on my computer with acceleration. I uninstalled acceleration then transferred gold.everything was going well until I tried to inter the product key. I tried flight sim X pro, did not work. I then tried XP X Flight Simulator that has not worked.

When I bought the Edition first however I did an installation and noticed that had not changed in aircraft or mission that is what brings me to uninstall and then try what I describe above. Now it seems that nothing works

Thanks for the reply! It seems that the problem is that I tried to install the Excceleration provided with the Microsoft Flight Sim Gold Edition on top of the current edition. I called Microsoft customer service and gave access to a technician in India.  She went through my computer and worked on all issues.  Not to change the subject, but I was surpised at how all this worked compared to 20, more years ago, when I would call the customer support.  At the time could dial the number and a tech would answer the phone and will guide you through it.  Now we have forums, groups and telephone answering services that you must pass to speak to a technician. It was when Windows is first out with Gui and Win 3.1.  Thanks to Microsoft and after all these years, there are still the best, and their customer support is excellent.

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 vs Windows 7 compatibility

I installed MS Flight Simulator in Windows 7. The installation went well.
And I could start MS Flight Simulator until the home page appeared.
BUT: during the opening of "videoparts' (i.e. the statement at the beginning, the parts of MS FS with moving images) the program closed and a message says:
"There was a problem. The program does much more. The program will be closed. »
I tried to find out if something went wrong with the compatibility. But everyhting seems fine.
I hope someone can help me with my favorite game show.

All I can think now is to update your video drivers.

If it still does not work, unfortunately it is something wrong with your computer because it says here that FS2004 is fully compatible with Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit):

  • Huge problem with Microsoft Flight Simulator Gold Edition

    Hello

I just tried installed FSX on my computer running Windows 7, and everything looks great except for one thing. Most of the aircraft when displayed in flight, when you travel in reality or in cut scenes are completely'm. Which means that there is no wings, the fuselage is glued on the front of the plane face down in the ground, or the wheels are attached to the top of the aircraft. So pretty, it is a metal band which is glued together.
After reading many forums I might have SP 1 SP 2 could help my problem, but apparently the Acceleration package includes those so I installed this one rather than service packs. After installing it fixed my problem, the planes look perfect now. However, several other issue was raised. First of all, the multiplayer option in the menu disappeared, so I can't play multiplayer (least of my worries for the moment). In addition, I can play 30 minutes! No matter if I do the Missions or free flight, I can play 30 minutes or a message appears saying that I need to enable to play longer. What I did for FSX, but the acceleration pack never asked me for an activation key. Also when FSX starts a message pop up to say that it was a mistake to activation, blah blah.
I want you to know that I got two keys with the game: Flight Sim X Pro and Flight Simulator X XP. Is there a difference? I used one.
I also tried some method to remedy such as inserting the CD and repair, uninstall and reinstall and download a crack provided to someone else in another forum.
As well, though I'm stuck. I can play 30 minutes or play with my pasted body in by propeller and my tires glued to my glass roof/ceiling.
    Help, please! Thank you.

    Hello

    1. which edition of Windows are you using? Is - this edition is 32-bit or 64-bit?

Given that the game is compatible with Windows 7, I suspect that the conflict can be 32-bit or 64-bit architecture.
The link below shows the compatibility of this game with Windows 7.

    Method 1.
We must ensure that the edition of the game must correspond with the operating system.
If you use 64-bit in this game, you need the 64-bit Windows to install it.
    Method 2.
If the above information matching I you recommend to start the computer in clean condition and then try to install the game.
See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: When the diagnosis is complete, don't forget to reset your computer to normal startup. Follow step 7 in the above article.

    I hope this helps.

  • Failed to install Microsoft Flight Simulator. Will not pass the installation wizard.

Failed to install Microsoft Flight Simulator, Version Deluxe 2010. I am running Windows 7 Ult 64 bit. The program will not install, it's an error that it cannot find the file. I tried everything, but it does not install. This is the full version of three discs.

I am convinced that Flight simulator is not intended to be run on a 64-bit computer that is very disappointing. I have a program which should install without all the aggravation I had to endure. If you run them 64-bit machines do not buy this product. I tried since it first came out. I feel at the moment where I get it going it will be a version dated date out. Wait until there is a version dedicated 64-bit, you will save yourself a lot of grief. I have an Asus dual core Centrino 2, 2.6 GB h. computer laptop with 4 GB memory. I install my DVD direct program. It worked when the computer is a 32-bit computer.

What finally worked for me when I tried to install MSFSX Gold Edition has been that I copied the disc 1 FS to my office.  Then I copied the contents of the FS 2 disc and put the files in the same folder.  When're asked you if you want to replace the files with the same name on both drives say no.  It seemed to work well for me when nothing else did.

I haven't read of anyone doing this exactly, it's my own invention/workaround bit AFAIK. Hope this works for all of you who cannot make it work otherwise.

    ASUS G50v-t
Intel Core 2 Duo Centrino 2, 2.26 GHz
