Microsoft Home Server problem

Hi all

I have a HP Nas server at home and everything that was happening until last night when I tried to transfer files from my laptop to the server on my network.

When I tried my laptop does not see the drives on the server, there saw that there an acess network power but can't not all readers. I tried to reinstall the connector but kept coming up with 'unexpected error' after you type the server password. Then I did some research and discovered that it had to do with the name of the computer, even though I haven't changed anything on the server or laptop. So I changed the name on the server, restart both the computer laptop and server but still the same problem.

I then reinstalled home server 2011, hoping he could solve the problem, but it didn't. The only software but that has changed is my internet security has expired, I'm sure that would not prevent the device to see each other.

No one knows how to fix? Or some software so I can get around it?

Thank you

Sean

    I had a hard drive failure partial who gave no symptoms or errors except a VERY slow start-up and operation.  I tried to do a restore of the entire system of my Home Server 2011 backups to see if, perhaps, just the image was corrupt.  USB was created and all drivers copied from pilots for the full system restore folder.  Has started the full restoration of the system and loaded the missing NETWORK adapter driver by using the scanner for drivers.  Driver support was successful but no lights NIC and the message "cannot find server".  NETWORK card was working fine before, even with the bad hard drive and also after the abandonment of the restoration.  Installed the new drive hard C:-System and that was the main problem, BUT..., the later to restore attempt was always the NIC starts not problem.  Tried the driver directly at Gigabyte support and drivers drivers for the full restoration of the system of records from several different backups.  No love.  Just NIC does not start after the specified load successful pilot.

  • Windows Home Server + Config IP/LAN WRT54G problems

    Hello

    I tried to fix this for days now, and I feel more I read on questions from other people who appear to be similar (at the beginning), I realize that I don't know even where to start... [: Confused:]

    What I know:

    I can't access my Windows Home Server from outside my home network. Whenever I have try and enter the domain name, setting Page of the WRT54G (identical to display when you enter http://192.168.1.1. inside my network) is displayed. Seems I found a way to configure my router remotely - but it's really not what I want... I rather like to access my home server, but it does not work. My LAN, I don't have a problem to connect to my server via remote desktop, but not from outside.

    I'm sure it's a (simple?) Number IP/LAN, but I just don't know how to solve. I know that something is obviously wrong with the IP addresses, but I don't know which ones to change without messing up my network, server, router etc...

    My presentation of Setup/settings:

    1.) WRT54G (v6) installed with latest firmware. Active DHCP.

    2.) HP MediaSmart Server (running Windows Home Server 2003) is configured with a static IP address > TZO domain name.

    3.) WRT54G Port Forwarding: all need ports (80, 443, 444, 4125, 3389) passed on to the Home Server (192.168.1.222)

    What strikes me (as shown in the tab "Status" of WRT54G):

    The IP address of the router is the same as my domain TZO address... is that supposed to be like that? -Need help, Pleaseeeeee!

    Q1: How can I access my home server from outside my network without pulling up the configuration of my router settings?

    Q1: which of my IP addresses & settings need to be changed... and where?

    Any help is appreciated...  Many thanks in advance!

    Armin

    Simply turn off remote access of configuration on the router or change the port that it sits on.

    The problem is that the web INTERFACE of configuration for the wrt54g is on port 80, so when you try to access port 80 (internet) outside it goes directly to the configuration UI instead of the server on port 80.

    Don't ask me where it is that I do not run firmware factory on wrt54g nmy.

  • Use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2008 home

    I am a student in learning SQL. I have downloaded Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio 2008 as is the SQL software used in class. When I click on Connect, it is said that it can not connect. I chose the following options.

    What should I do?

    Hello

    Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    According to the description, the problem is related to the installation of Microsoft® SQL Server® 2008 Management Studio Express to the point 8.1 of Windows, I suggest you to ask your question in the following link, because they have more expertise on this issue:

  • Problem of metric Collection of Microsoft Sql Server.

    We try to use the new 4.2.0 hyperic HQ and we encounter problems collecting some metrics in Microsoft Sql Server 2005. In particular ' Full Scans/Sec ' but not only. "Pages/sec reads" and writes of pages/sec also seem to be affected by this problem.

    It's the metric definition in hq - plugin.xml in mssql - plugin.jar

    < name metric = "Full Scans/s"
    alias = "FullScansSec."
    model = "" methods: access platform Win32:Full Scans/Sec = ""
    category = 'USE '.
    Group = "Resource Utilization"
    collectionType = "dynamic".
    units = "none" / >

    The collection type is dynamic and values in perfmon are actually dynamic, but collected values are incorrect and metric seems to be a collection trendsup type.

    Agent to run on windows 2003 R2 with sql server 2005

    Can someone help us?

    Thank you

    I checked and it seems that these measures are not currently supported.  There is a demand for improvement created for this issue:

    http://JIRA.Hyperic.com/browse/HHQ-3432

    Activation of these parameters is more than just a-commenting on HQ - plugin.xml. HQ will take any counter the metric Basic that is trends upward and adds an equivalent rate based. Therefore the steps to adding the metric:

    (1) remove all references / dry model and the name of metrics. (HQ adds the rate automatically when creating the metric base rate)
    (2) change collectionType in Dynamics trendsup

    alias = "LatchWaitsSec."
    model = "" latches: platform = waiting for Win32:Latch / s ""
    category = 'USE '.
    Group = "Resource Utilization"
    collectionType = "dynamic".
    units = "none" / >

    Will be:

    alias = "LatchWaits."
    model = "" latches: platform = Win32:Latch expected ""
    category = 'USE '.
    Group = "Resource Utilization"
    collectionType = "trendsup."
    units = "none" / >

    When HQ automatically creates rate based metrics, it will use a side "per Minute". To change this per second, add rate = 1 "s" to the tag.

  • Problem with driver installation Home Server

    Yet another question!

    I had a bad day with ESXi today, nothing worked and I am still to get a guest OS installed and work after hours of banging my head against the server.

    I am trying to install Windows Home Server, I have a bootable DVD for it, but it fails with the error:

    "hard disk capable of hosting windows home server is not found."

    After Googling, I find that I need to download a SCSi driver and put it on a floppy disk.

    First of all, my floppy drive on my client did not work so I went along to a neighbor, he had no one, so I then drove to my nearest neighbor who said he had a working floppy drive.

    File: ESXi_WinXP.flp is too large to fit on the disk! It didn't matter what we tried it wouldn't fit. Then we researched on the VMWare site for another driver, but it was too big for a floppy as well.

    Where I am goingwrong and why is it so difficult (for me)

    Thank you, again.

    you have really no need put one flpppy image btrue diskette - you can point the flp on shared storage image - as you do an ISO for cd rom image.

    We need a replacement for windows home server that does not cost as much as a PC. 2011 is not really available and 2008 has compatibility problems, because it is based on XP and Server 2003. None of the motherboard manufactures will support XP (thanks to MS) and more recent SATA drives do not work in my motherboard more old.

  • Cannot partition on Windows Home Server

    The problem:
    We are currently the main C drive partitioned 20 GB and we cannot repartition try with several different partition tools.  The error via a tool, it's "the volume you have selected cannot be extended.  Other tools to give similar messages.  The hard drive is 250 GB RAID 1 mirror.

    What we tried:

    A suggestion according to the https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/841650 does not include the home server edition so can't take the risk that she clearly serve States own risk.  We tried Acronis partition software, G-Parted, diskpart.exe command BACK and Macrorit http://macrorit.com/partition-magic-manager/server-diskpart-fails-to-extend-system-partition.html

    Other suspicious Info:

    1. System Properties window says that the operating system is 'Windows Home Server'.

    2 window Information System indicates that the operating system is 'Windows 2003 Small Business Server. "

    The person who owns that server call purchase Home Server edition.  Not sure if this is related or not, but it's conflicting information to find a solution.

    Bottom line, even if that server is outdated and not fully supported any longer, we hope to keep alive a little more long if possible if we simply repartition C drive and increase the free space.  Other than replacing the server suggestions are appreciated because they are not willing to spend the money to replace the entire server.

  • Using Microsoft SQL Server SP2 2012 and update KB2793634

    I'm in control of several servers that are running Microsoft SQL Server SP1 2012. One of these servers is broken to cause the same symptoms as KB2793634 ( http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=36215 ) fixes. This error is due to the installation of SP1 (which has been done on all servers) and will come into action later. I'm afraid that the other servers will be in shortly.

    Prior to this fix, I applied 2012 SP2 of Microsoft SQL Server on the server with the issue in the hope of resolving this. KB2793634 is now unable to run on this server because it is compatible with the SQL SP1. So my question is:

    SP2 includes KB2793634? I want this problem to be addressed before the other servers are affected as this first, then should I install SP2 or just install KB2793634 on other servers?

    Thank you very much, I hope that all the senses. If it's in the wrong place, can you please direct me to where I can ask SQL related questions?

  • Non-native install copy of Windows Home Server

    Hi, I was hoping that someone could erase something for me.

    I have an OEM of Windows Home Server 2011 version that I bought in England, when he arrived in the post that I realized that it is a German copy, probably why it was so cheap.

    I'm not really bothered about it, if I can just change the language during or even after the installation. My question is this a problem or problem further down the line or the whole operating system will be identical to a UK copy if I change the language and regional settings?

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd rather not go back if I can't.
