  • Are there drivers Windows 7 for a Microsoft SideWinder Precision Pro and how to work?

I have a MS SideWinder Precision Pro. I looked at the Windows 7 Compatibility Center and he said compatible. There is no link to a download of driver. On the internet, someone said Windows 7/Vista can no longer bear 'game ports' and you need a game-> USB adapter port. I don't have this kind of adapter. I also read that a USB adapter would not work because who only works with analog game controllers. Is this true?

So I need one of these adapters? And where can I get the drivers for this gamepad win7?

    Hello

USB adapter only works with analog game controllers, so that he's not helping.

There is no driver Win7 scheduled this joystick. You can try to install the drivers in xp compatibility mode xp. Read this:

I have windows xp family. I try to get my old precision sidewinder pro controller to work. XP does not recognize the controller even when I went to the control panel command, game controllers, sidewinder(auto detect), all I get is, your gameport or gameport drivers are not properly configured. I don't have my original disc supplied with the controller. Can you please direct me in a simple way so that it works because I'm not very good with the Tech stuff. The product I.D. # for my controller is: 85791-579-9297393-00000. The manufacturer is: x 03-57540. It's a Microsoft Precision Pro. It has 4 buttons on the left of the controller, under the buttons he has a small spinning wheel like the disc, according to which another button with an arrow pointing forward, the button can be toggled back for 2 functions, then it has a handle in the middle with 4 buttons on the top and a button below. thank someone for all help.  E-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

  • Compatibility Microsoft Sidewinder Dual Strike Gaming Controller

Can someone please tell me if there is progress regarding the compatibility with Windows 7 the Dual Strike and its associated sidewinder software. I had this works well in WindowsXP - even with installed SP3!

I saw the previous answer to this question that is frankly - unfortunately incorrect. Although the double strike - (being a USB device) - does not install automatically (kind of) in windows 7 - is NOT recognized when the games is open. I can't do THE buttons to assign it to the actions of in the game set up the menu (Dark Void game as a good example) that is to say - it does not work.

Also - can I install sidewinder in compatibility mode - but that's where it ends. When I try to open sidewinder central to assign keys to buttons - I get a message saying: "there was a problem which may be due to low system resources - close other programs and try again." Then, when I try and close sidewinder - I get another message saying "Windows host process (Rundll32) has stopped working."

Now obviously a controller programmable games that - a. who don't recognize not games and b. he can't program keys - are kind of redundant isn't.

I'm afraid to change the compatibility settings, either manually or by using the Troubleshoot utility has absolutely no effect.

    Does anyone have a solution?

    Sincere greetings to you all

    Phil

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer.

I looked at all the links above - without success - Similarly, I found a Microsoft soutions Web page that says this game contoller went well with windows 7

(obviously written by someone who does not even tried to use it).

The problem is that the Sidewinder game software is not compatible with windows 7 - even in mode of compatibility, and therefore, the buttons cannot be programmed.

For those who have the same problem - I found a solution using the 3rd party software called Xpadder - available at Xpadder.com

(or just google Xpadder and you'll find it).

This allows all the buttons to program, works in Windows 7 and is a good replacement for the sidewinder software.

But why I'm able to use 3rd party software?

Is that a shame isn't - that Microsoft can't be bothered to support their own products and we had to spend hours and hours searching for 3rd party solutions.

I think this has tought me a lesson - and I have to think very carefully before buying a product microsoft again.

  • Mad Catz Pro game controller, no driver available

There is no driver available. When connected it simply says that it cannot find a driver i Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

If this is the Xbox 360 compatible controller, unplug it, download the driver MS here (choose your OS before download):
     http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/Xbox-360-controller-for-Windows#support

Install this driver, then plug your Mad Catz. Windows will then detect as a compatible controller Xbox 360 (or at least it did on both Win7 and a Vista machines I have).

  • How to install the Microsoft Xbox 360 game wireless laptop controller running Windows 7 as a ' instead of "unspecified '?" game controller

Downloaded Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless game controller for laptop running Windows 7.  The driver does not read like a game controller but appears as not specified.  How can I get the hardware to read like a game controller?

How have you connected it to the computer?  If you are using the play & Charge kit, it won't work because it connects only makes it to the battery.  The controller always connect wireless so you will need an Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming receiver for Windows. Probably not.  Basically, Microsoft made Vista and Windows 7 compatible with the Xbox 360 controller.  As part of their Games for Windows program, games is now designed with this in mind as the standard gamepad.  And the focus was there.  Previous hardware support for Sidewinder and other game materials has pretty well dried up.  There may be some alternatives with third-party tools, but I'm not aware of anything.  However, if you happen to have an Xbox 360 wired controller, you can connect directly to your PC and start using it.  A wireless controller, however, requires a receiver of wireless like this on Amazon game.  Located here

I know that this is not directly answering your question, but I thought I could give you at least some options in case you can't get the Sidewinder to work.
