report of suspicious calls "Microsoft."
At 11:16 (PST) today our telephone office and phone rang a few seconds apart. I answered the office phone, my wife answered the phone at home. A man who sounded like it was said in India with Windows Office customer and was called because my computer was producing a lot of somethings 'international' and error messages, indicating that it is probably infected by malicious viruses. I asked him his number twice. When he give it to me, I hung up.
A moment later my wife went down with a similar message and handed me the phone. The man identified himself as 'Alex '. He also sounded like he was in India and named a Microsoft service - department slightly different name which I did not write down. He asked me: "How are you today." I said clearly, 'Suspects '. He started to tell me some things on my computer. I asked him his phone number, and he gave it to me as: 8635 78 3 double 15. I said to him saying that I had heard wrong: 8635 78 37115 and he corrected me: 8635 78 3 double-1 5 (i.e. 8635 78 3115) Then I said I would say Microsoft to check myself and hung up.
I checked my log of phone calls online and find both the calls listed from the: 000-090-0700.

Technical support of 360 E it's a scam
I think I have been scammed, I got a call from 360ETechnicalsupport.com their phone # is 760-429-2871, they said that I had a lot of mistakes on my comp. and I was likely to have a lot of viruses and malware, they called my cell # 11-11 and got me into a name the windows button, they said that they could take care of it and erase my comp. for errors. I have to pay them $165. a first payment of $85. which I did and pay the rest in installments. I paid it through paypal. This company is real. They sent me a welcome letter say they said has been prepared jointly with Microsoft / Cisco and Mac. What should I do if it is a scam.
Thank you

Why is your inquiry so long?.
I stopped taking the investigation because of the length of ridicule.
I'd love to go back, but not the object of so many unnecessary questions.
Hello businessman,.
It is a public forum for Windows Vista. While it is hosted by Microsoft, the answers are provided mainly by users in general products, not Microsoft face-to-face. Nobody here can influence the duration of the Microsoft Surveys.
I do, however, agree with you that Microsoft do tend to inflate their survey, not necessarily.
This forum post is my own opinion and does not necessarily reflect the opinion or the opinion of Microsoft, its employees or other MVPS.

Hello GeoPrencipe,
Microsoft regularly use research groups of third market as Ipsos for their investigations. AMT and Neilson are other brands.

Microsoft representative survey
I just got a call from a Jack Hardy, who pretended to be a representative Microsoft investigating damage to my computer because my computer downloads. After that I expressed some hesitation he wanted me to verify his identity (00442032397020) by dialing a number to give me. We got cut off before that happened. Can you tell me if Microsoft would contact me like this. My suspicion is that it is connected to the messages that appear sometimes for me to respond to errors to Microsoft. Comments?
It's a scam! Do not leave them in your computer! A search on these forums and you will see a HUGE amount of them being reported. Just hang up on them. Microsoft will never call you unsolicited.
I hope this helps.

You ask people to take part in a survey?
This morning when I went to the Firefox help screen, I got a message box to the top of the page asking if I wanted to do a survey. I clicked on the words saying I'd do the survey and entered my email address in the box provided.
It is now night and as no one has been in touch I'm afraid that it was a scam and that I might as well picked up some sort of infection.
I did a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials and nothing was found, but I'm still worried and would like to receive a response to my question regarding if it is a real investigation of Mozilla or a scam.
Thank you very much.
Hello
There is no need to worry. The forum is set up like that. This is a real investigation of Mozilla.
It's now night-time and as no one has been in touch I am worried that this was a scam and that I might have picked up some sort of infection as a result.
You have not picked up something malicious, and I don't think that anyone is supposed to contact you. The results (AFAIK) are sent to developers or a team of Mozilla.

How can I get rid of the survey popups
I use windows 7. For the last few weeks, almost whenever I click on a Web site, I get a popup survey. I tried all the normal methods to get rid of them, but they still popup. I downloaded Spybot and Malwarebytes and still no good. How can I stop them?
In the Firefox menu, (top left) to select Tools > Modules > select left panel Extensions, I selected something that I never installed called Yontoo so I pointed out and removed, then restart Firefox. Problem solved.
Advice from the other guy was sort of right, you have to do some research yourself if you want to solve PC problems without having to pay, Mozilla are excellent, but do not have the resources of c * ts like Microsoft.

Failure of a file registry - A32 Satellite running on Microsoft Windows XP
Hello, can someone help with this you problem?
I have a Satellite phone for 7 years that is running Microsoft Windows XP.
When I tried to turn on the system today, Windows is not started as usual, but instead, I got a blue screen with the following error message:-
* STOP: c0000218 (registry file failure *)
* Registry cannot locate the hive (file): \systemroot\system32\config\SOFTWARE*
* It is corrupt, the advent or not writable *.How can I fix this please? The computer does not at all, even in safe mode. He previously worked very well. I've never experienced anything like this before.
Thank you
Hello
In your case I'd take a Win XP disk and would try to reinstall the system.
Still is it that you are not able to boot into normal mode and safe mode so I put t see another solution for you.
Of course, the blue screen of death could be related to a hardware problem (HARD drive problem) and in this case the installation of the system not fix your problem. Then this would require the new survey -

You receive spam/scam emails. The senders of these messages have no way to know how full your trash is. Right click on the Recycle Bin and empty it. You will not earn easy money by taking surveys. Just delete these emails; don't answer, don't sign up for anything.

Call from someone claiming to be form Microsoft wanting to access my computer
Received a call from 1-800-786-0425 saying they were Microsoft and requesting access to my computer. Indian accent, had large echo phone and not clear. Search for Microsoft and I noticed that a number of 1-866-769-4258 using Microsoft Canada got another funny telephone survey and Indian accent. The number of Canadian is legitimate? I hung up.
