This panic was not caused by a third-party software. If the problem recurs, the possibilities are:

  1. A stale or corrupt kernel cache
  2. A damaged OS x installation
  3. A flaw in a device, if applicable
  4. Corrupt the nonvolatile memory (NVRAM)
  5. Internal hardware failure (including incompatible memory)
  6. Obscure bug in OS X

You can already have excluded some of them.

Rule # 1 by starting in safe mode , then restart as usual. Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a Fusion drive or a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.

You can exclude #2 and #3 in reinstalling the operating system and tests with non-essential devices disconnected and removed aftermarket expansion cards, if any. Sometimes a clean reinstall may solve a problem which is not resolved by reinstalling in place.

Corrupt the PRAM, which causes panic from time to time, may be excluded in resetting it.

If your model has replaceable memory by the user and you have upgraded modules of memory, reinstall the original memory and see if there is any improvement. Make sure not to touch the Gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Spare memory must exactly match the technical specifications of the machine.

Apple diagnostics or the Apple Hardware Test, as generally unreliable, sometimes detects a fault. A negative test may not be depended on. Run the long version of the test, if necessary.

More than a screen connected is another trigger for OS X bugs reported.

In the category of obscure bugs, damage the data on a file server, such as a Time Capsule backup - can sometimes trigger a panic. If necessary, remove all the network devices and see if the panic stop. If you use Time Machine, disable it temporarily in its preference pane.

Otherwise, an appointment of 'Genius' in an Apple Store, or switch to a different service provider authorized to have the tested machine. You may need to leave for several days. He is not much of interest to do this, unless you can reproduce the panic, or if you can't, it happens quite often that he is likely to be repeated at the store. Otherwise, you can be said that everything is fine.

Print the first page of the report panic and take it with you.

  • Mid-2012, MacBook Air of random stop

I tried to find a solution to more than a year. My MacBook air has been cutting randomly without warning.

At first I thought it was overheating, so I installed Mac Fan Control and cranked up the fans, but it always stops around 60-70 ° C temperature of CPU, which should be good. The first three years, I owned the computer I never had a single problem and the fan never accelerated where she was audible 2 times.

The error code in the log files is Cause of previous stop - 2, which I can't find a description of anywhere.

I took the computer to the Genius Bar for a verification of the material, but the computer turns off as soon as they are trying to run the test. They wanted to change the logic board for $600 + then I said that I think about it.

If anyone has experienced this? I can find no solution confirmed online and don't know if I have to replace the logic board or card IO first. When he died, it's like it lost power. Immediately turns off. It will not restart for at least 20 seconds, and if I turn on for a few minutes it turns off again before moving on to the screen. However, it will work perfectly sometimes for up to an hour or two.

The computer was pampered life whole and never dropped or spilled on. Looking inside, it looks fine, but tbh I don't know what I would look for.

If anyone has any ideas at all, I'd like to hear them. It's a mid 2012 Air i5 with 4 GB of RAM.

EDIT: Also, I did the resets of SCM, this does not solve the problem.

  • How can I increase storage on a 13th 2011 macbook air?

How can I increase storage on a 2011 13 macbook air?

Buy a drive flash memory or if you need a storage more consider purchasing a USB hard drive. If you need a low-profile option, you can use an SD card but transfer speeds will be slower. You could get the updated DSS to level, but this will be done by a trained professional and would be quite expensive.                   -zerotwo77

  • Mid-2013 MacBook Air sees buy do not mount or format a 128 GB USB 3.0 flash drive

MacBook Air is mid-2013 model 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 w/4 GB of RAM.

Running the system report shows the details of the car, but OS X 10.11.2 utility disk do not see for putting in shape or mounting.

Flash drive by (by PNY) is to be connected directly to the MacBook Air. Without hubs involved.

  • Mid-14 MacBook air won't turn on

    Big trouble in China little...

My MacBook air of 2014 lights.  When I plug it to the Magsafe, light amber, as if he were in charge - but I guess that's not.

The story is a bit complex. My husband and I are cycling through China, and we are weeks to be in a city with an Apple store.  We took the quick train to Hong Kong for the weekend, a couple of weeks and I plugged my computer to load.  Later this weekend, when the battery was dead, I plugged in to charge, and he left a little.  That's when he started... Or stop from where appropriate.

I took it to the Apple store in Hong Kong and they said it was probably the logic board.  For reasons of time, we have sent to a friend in Beijing who took it to an authorized service provider that works without problem, cleaned, charged for diagnosis, and they sent back.

I'll be just my computer a few hours ago.  Press the power button to make sure that things would turn out, he did, so I jumped on the charger it and we went to dinner.  When we arrived back, he would not turn back on... and that is where we are.  I did everything that Apple said to do, including resetting the SMC.

    Thoughts? Questions? Advice?

I would test with another charger if available.

    Ciao.

  • 13 "mid 2012 macbook air affected by video artifacts, known problem?

My macbook air is randomly video defects showing, screwed to the top of some parts of the screen, seems to be at the start, not so good once it heats up. It happens on the desktop, foxfire or in video games, that has happened before and after the update to el capitan. Sometimes the sections of the flash screen. Is this a known fault? is there maybe some some campaign to provide a repair? of course, my 3 years protection plan apple just expired

I'm not aware of any program by Apple about the graphic problems with MBA.

You can connect a monitor on the MBA and which could indicate if there is a problem of connecting GPU or display/display.

An Apple Hardware Test could provide a clue:

    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT201257

Note that AHT free error is not conclusive.

The best option will be a date at a bar in engineering of Apple for a FREE evaluation.

  • MacBook Pro retina 2014 keeps restarting

    Hello

My refurbished Macbook Pro has been reset continually in recent days, but done so much since I got the computer. I don't have a problem out of it first because it was only a few days, but now it's annoying, because sometimes I'm in the middle of a report and it resets any chance. If anyone can help me understand how to solve this problem, I would really appreciate it.

That's what the report said that when the computer restarts again...

This kind of panic can be caused by a bug in OS X, or by a hardware failure. I suggest that you upgrade to the current version ("El Capitan") in the App Store and see if the panic stop.

Before the upgrade, verify that all of your most important third-party software are up-to-date and compatible with current versions of old OS X. Very Microsoft and Adobe products, for example, may not be compatible. The Web site is the best source for this information.

Incompatible third-party software causes almost all problems with OS X updates.

Finally, in back up all the dataand be sure you know how to restore if you don't like the results of the upgrade.

If you have a with a sufficient capacity storage device, you can copy the boot volume in disk utility, then run him and to upgrade. So, if you don't like the results, all you have to do is change the setting in the startup disk preferences pane and restart.

  • MacBook Air ceased to recognize Vizio TV via HDMI

    Hello

I have been connecting my 13 "mid-2011 MacBook Air to my smart Vizio TV with a bolt of lightning for a HDMI cable for a while now to stream online TV. It's very simple. (Forgive me if these descriptions are a bit off, but to the best of my memory). With connected to the laptop, once that the cable is connected, the TV/HDMI adapter as well as the choice for the choice of display Built In both appeared in the display preferences panel. I choose the HDMI connection, go to the "input" on the TV Panel, select HDMI source, and that's it. Connected. Lately I had trouble with some buffering, and it was suggested to connect the TV as another option in this Panel of preferences on the airwaves. Unfortunately, I can't remember what we called this connection/option. But I did, there are options for the proposed resolution, which I brought from 1080 to 720 (another buffer solution I'd come through). Everything connected very well, and the entire installation sank my program with no buffering either. I felt that I had sent to my problem of buffering. Until...

The next time I went to connect to TV, he did not appear in the display of the preferences panel. Indeed, the Panel itself was different, simplified. I tried the "hold down Option detect poster", reset the SMC, zap PRAM and nothing.

For memory, the Macbook Air still connect to my monitor ViewSonic Desktop via a bolt of lightning to the HDMI adapter connected to a HDMI cable. In fact, I thought that it might reset everything that was causing the problem, but it didn't.

I am trying to determine if the change of the type of things screwed connection. It's the only explanation I can find. Any comment is welcome.

    Patrick

Info extra, when the cable is connected, the Macbook Air flickers a couple of times, the screen goes black and says "Data recovery" as he usually did, but said then "Signal"!

Of course, this does not solve my question. I don't know why, it is marked as such.

Please delete "Little Snitch" and see if the panic stop.

Any third party software that is not installed on the App Store or by drag-and - drop in the Applications folder and uninstall by drag - move to the trash, is a modification of the system.

Whenever you delete changes to the system, they must be eliminated completely, and the only way to do this is to use the uninstall tool, if any, provided by the developers, or follow their instructions. If the software has been removed incompletely, you may redownload or reinstall even to finish the job.

I never install modifications of the system myself, and except as stated in this comment, I do not know how to uninstall them. You'll have to do your own research to find this information.

Here are some general guidelines to help you get started. Suppose you want to remove the so-called "BrickMyMac" (a hypothetical example). First of all, menu using the product, check if there is one, for instructions. Not finding here, look at the Web site, let's say www.brickmymac.com. (Maybe it's not the name real site, if necessary, search the Web for the name of the product). If you don't find anything on the Web site or in your search, contact the developer. While you are waiting for a response, download BrickMyMac.dmg and open it. There may be a request here as "Uninstall BrickMyMac." If this is not the case, open "BrickMyMac.pkg" and look for an uninstall button. The uninstall program can also accessible by clicking on the button customize, when one exists.

Back up all data before making any changes.

Generally, you will need to restart the computer in order to perform an uninstall. Until you do this, there may be no effect, or the unpredictable effects.

If you can't remove the software in any other way, you will have to erase and install OS X. Never install any third party software, unless you're sure you know how to uninstall in the contrary case, it can create problems which are very difficult to solve.

Try to remove the complex system of changes by hunting for files by name, often will not work and can make the problem worse. The same goes for 'utilities' as the 'AppCleaner"designed to remove software.

On my 13 "mid 2012, MacBook Air, I had just completely loaded the night too many MacBook and I needed to bring it to school. I checked the battery and it said '100% ', but when I checked the time remaining, he says "01:29. I thought it was weird and I quit all applications, restarted and then checked once more. This time, he said "04:46. The laptop lasted all day school, but I had to have only the minimum of apps open and the brightness of the screen on 3. Anyone know why?
