  Hello everyone,

  I have been using MID-7654 for 1.5years as for now with the motion controller PCI-7358. I encountered several problems and I am now controlling 4 different actuators simultaneously. But today when I turned on the system, the motor connected to the axis 3 of the MID-7654 was not responding to commands. I opened MAX and saw that when I ordered something the engine was not pass at all, but the following error has increased and the axis killed himself. I tried to assign axis motion controller 5-8 to the driver and again all axes except axe 3 worked.

  Can there be sth wrong electrically within the pilot? All the world is facing a similar problem? Is there a a chance to overcome this problem by changing the settings of the axis?

  Gencer,

  as this seems to be a hardware failure, please check with your local branch OR for the RMA procedure. In general, we tested the unit and if it's broken and not guarantee more OR will send a repair offer.

• Cannot start AMD Vision Engine Control Center

  I downloaded the driver Plug-and-Play (project-style) for Agilent 8648 A generator of signals. I use LabVIEW 2011.

  I open the file project and resource VISA name menu, select COM1. Note that I use 82350B of the PCI-GPIB Interface Card.

  Given that you do not use a NI GPIB, go to MAX, select software and NI-VISA. In the right window, click the Options of VISA, and then select passports under general settings. Check on the passport of NI-VISA for Tulip.

  I'm assumimg you loaded the driver of Agilent and tested the communication with their software.

  My ultimate goal is to skip a XY (via 2 linear actuators) in a circular motion (radius of 0.47 ") at a frequency of 1 Hz. I run the example VI 'Demo circle' which received my copy of LabView, version 9.0.

  I really wonder the max speed in the datasheet.  0,0833 "/ to 3.3" rev / s = about 40RPS (2400 RPM), which is extremely fast for a motor, especially at 24VDC.  Know exactly what engine is on the cylinder and go to www.applied-motion.com and you should be able to find curves of torque for that or a similar engine with various readers.  You will see that couple to 24VDC curves are not good.  In addition, ask Ultramotion if their speed/strength curve is theoretical, or tests have been conducted.

• 7344 PCI behave erratically, the random movements of servo

  I use a PCI-7344 to control a 3-axis test bench. Today when I booted with on all the settings it has not worked, just kept servos moving randomly, even when controlled by MAX and a script of movement. Even the kill command has failed. I checked for the disconnected wires, but nothing has moved since the last time I used the system.

  The servos for all axes acted weird. The current position, the target position and the following error message remained at zero, even though the engines were spinning. On an axis, the MAX software would show the current increase in position and values of random speed while the position of the target and following error message has remained at zero.

  Something went wrong and I don't know how to fix it this time. Does anyone have an idea what to do? Since I was put on this project, I never enjoyed working with NOR-MAX or the PCI-7344. It seems I have spend more time to use it for experiments in fixing it.

  It turns out that someone disconnected the cable used to power the PCI-7344. Once I plugged it back in it works well again.

• 3 MainStage mapping expression midi pedal

  MainStage 3 question. I recently redesigned my guitar rig to include some pedals in a rack drawer that I can control via my midi controller (Voodoo Lab Ground Control Pro). I decided to add my M-Audio M-Track to the rack so I can use virtual effects and plugins with MainStage. Everything works so far impressive and I get some really great sounds without my pedalboard full so it will make for a small backup/repetition plus platform.

  One of the patches that I'm working on now is going to be big ambient swells. I use the plugin Shimverb of Valhalla (awesome plugin, especially at this price!) and I'll probably add some digital delay him as well.

  I want to use my expression pedal (Ernie Ball Volume Pedal Jr.) via the sockets of the expression on the ground control to control the volume for this patch. I got this to work with a little trial and error. The problem is that when I use the expression pedal to control the overall volume of the patch is. I want to control my entry level so that when I lower the volume with the exp pedal the reverb and delay continue to ring. I see a parameter in the assignments and Mapping tab labeled 'entry level '. I think this would be the parameter I want to exp pedal control. The small icon next to him has a lock on it and I can't adjust the settings. When I select "input volume" I don't have any options to change anything.

  I found a way to make it work. I will post it here in case someone else has a similar problem. I added a plugin to 'gain' on the front of the signal chain for the patch then assigned the expression pedal to adjust the level of the plugin. Min value to something like 96 db and max has the value 0. Works perfectly for what I needed.

• El Capitan keyboard volume control does not

  I upgraded to El Capitan, and now, while volume on the keyboard controls display the volume on the screen change, they have absolutely no effect on the actual volume. I have to manually control the volume within the application (for example, QT).

  I am running OS X El Capitan 10.11.3 on a MacBook Pro for mid-2010, and the volume control on the activity of keyboard perfectly, be it with iTunes or QuickTime Player.
