Image compression

Hi all!

I have an image, it is very big: 4724 x 3496. So my Golden/Geom-Pattern matching algorithms are so slow. Is it possible to convert a smaller, without loss of information?

Try interpolation of the image. But it really depends on your final application in any case. For measures more pixels is boon. To simply identify some animals increases the processing time.

    Hi all

    Sorry for my late reply, I've been very busy lately.

    I did some debugging n test with my http code. Apparently, the problem occurred because I added a few headers in my http connection:

               _headers.setProperty("Profile", getProfile());
                _headers.setProperty("x-wap-profile", getProfile());
                _headers.setProperty("x-rim-transcode-content", "*/*");
                _headers.setProperty(

    I deleted just this code now.

  • Background Image compresses when illustrious keyboard

    Hello

    I have an application that uses an ImageView on the container root in order to display a background image.  All's well until I hit a textfield to display the keyboard. When they keyboard shows, the background image is compressed to take into account the height of the keyboard.

    Is anyway to avoid this?

    If you don't care your content moving on the screen (i.e. If it is visible even when the keyboard is indicated without moving) then you can consider changing the behavior of resizing on the page. If you set it to none the keyboard will be just superimpose you content rather than resize.

  • Muse's automatic image compression is destroying my images.

    I exported a series of drawings to 1000 pixels for the respective long edge, that seems like it should work for most situations.

    I'm experimenting with a slide show full-screen, or full-width, so the final size of the image is somewhat dependent on the users screen size/resolution.

    However when I publish the site, designs are all strongly compressed, which is horrible with the effect of dotted lines in the drawing. I know from experience that you can ignore the automatic compression of Muse by exporting your drawings to the same size that you want to display at, but in this case it is not cut and dried.

    Is there a manual way to disable this option?

    If this isn't the case, I would like to request that it be added. In fact, it would be wonderful to have a dialogue of compression available for images, so we could experiment freely with the images at full resolution and the output will be both aesthetically pleasant and efficient.

    No, the most common problem there just if the originals are opaque PNGs of computer generated art.

    If the images were used according to their original format Muse crosses then the intact.

    Without a specific example, it is difficult to speculate more in regards to what you see. See need for the URL of a page and original .jpg that has been placed or imported into Muse. (Screenshots are not useful in this case, since they introduce their own compression artifacts).

  • PNG image compression

    I have a script that captures images PNG from a 3rd party server, I can save them to my server by using this code, forcing them to 45 x 45

    < cfimage

    action = "resize".

    Height = "45".

    Width = "45".

    source = "#objImage #

    destination = "#newFileName #

    Overwrite = "yes" >

    The issue I see is that the sizes of the files are nowhere nearly as low as they could be, I dropped a few of them in tinypng.com, and they can be reduced by as much as 75% and less than 50% without significant loss of Visual quality.

    The question is, does anyone have a method to compress the PNG? I see that the quality = "" is only suitable for JPG files "

    BTW, I use this on CF8

    It seems that I have a solution.

    The good folks at PNGout ( http://www.ardfry.com ) told me to go on https://pngquant.org/ that uses compression with loss, by dithering (aka being) the image.

    Looking at their site it appeared that they have different ways to test their software with links to third parties who use their software, one of them being http://www.tinyPNG.org , as you will see in my thread above I tried to produce the same great results from tinypng.

    I downloaded the version of pngquant for Windows command line and used CFEXECUTE to execute, it was super easy-->

    arguments = 'd:\232.png--ext .png - strength - speed 5.

    outputFile = «»

    Timeout = "60" >

    In order to not create a new file, but replace the original, I added -ext .png , otherwise, you end up with two images

    I noticed that I could do to run two times faster with -5 speedand still get the same amazing results, 20 k images a fall until about 5 k, with no fall obvious visual quality, if you go for -speed 11, the faster it can be much faster, but the file still much smaller size are not at their small.

    The only argument I've had trouble with -skip-if-plus great who is supposed to do not create the image, if the results of the new image are actually larger than the original, however when I tried I found that the new image would not create even if he would indeed be smaller (I emailed them about this problem)

    Ardfry suggested that I then run the image through their pngout without loss to earn more on the reduction of file size, the tests I did that did help, but only about 2% or more.

    This doesn't seem to be a good solution, it's fast enough, so I'll do what the good answer.

    Thanks for your comments.

  • Quality and JPG image compression

    Hello

    I wonder what algorithm, quality and compression Adobe Muse by JPG compression placed Images used?

    If I do this in Photoshop the best compromise between quality and file size is something between 60 and 80.

    It's almost the same in Adobe Muse?

    Thanks a lot for the quick comments.

    Marc

    Hello

    Take a look at these links,

    Output of improvements in Muse CC 7.0 "Adobe Muse CC Engineering Team.

    Re: My images blurry when I export or publish my site of Muse. Why and how to fix it?

  • Why image compression information is different on the method used

    The size of the new image is 72 dpi @ size 1280x800px resolution.

    The final output settings target when using "Save for Web" in Photoshop should be:

    resolution of 72 dpi @ 1280x800px dimension

    JPEG quality: 75 @ 246,7 kilobytes.

    1. If I re - upload the image which is supposed to be 246,7 kilobytes in Photoshop, then click on the image size.

    He told me that the image is 2.93 MB.

    2. If you use Apple app 'Preview' and click the Inspector he tells me that the image is 253 KB (kilobytes).

    3. When you use the 'Quick look' feature of Apple, by selecting the image and then press space bar, he tells me that the image is 247KO

    (rounded) parameters of 246,7 kilobytes of output which is closer to the original final goal.

    4. Finally, when I click on order I for the information of the image, it tells me it is 253 bytes or (254 KB on disk).

    Why all these news image available so different and what method do I use or trust?

    Hi Choiceimport,

    Don't sweat the little things. The subtle differences between preview, Quicklook and command-i are due to a variety of things such as sectors how this program could look to get all the data. Some programs cantilevered sector reading. One area where you will see really is if you have saved your image is 253 kb and when you put it in a mail client, it might be (and I do this number upward) 370 KB.

    The big problem, that is why it is so big in PS. To understand this, we must remember that JPEG images are compressed in a lossy format. There are two types of compression here, frozen appearance (because the format actually loses information (ergo with loss), so that more compression, more data is removed and thrown (never to return) and General format compression algorithms.) For example, the file has a size of storage 247KO (or about), but when it is developed, so it can be seen is 2.93 MB. How much is the PS must take care in what concerns the ram to work with the image but not its storage size.

    And FWIW, I specifically call on "storage size" by referring to the size of the document is on the hard disk, as opposed to the size of the image that is (for me) refers to the dimensions of the image (either MPXL or X pixels wide by Y pixels maximum).

  • Image compression when you export a site

    I use Muse 3.2 build 2 (so a recent version)

    I'm worried about what size are the size of myimages file when the site export as HTML feature so that I can then FTP to my host.
    I took the time to collect and compress files jpg with a smaller size file without quality loss.

    I have quite a few images in the widgets (menus accordions and slide shows etc) but Muse does 2 things.

    1. put an extra machine generated filenames on the end of each file.

    2 change my jpg png and massively increase the size of the file, for example the size, we went from 22 k to 129 k and many ot the files that I spent the time compression until less than 10 k are now over 40 k. If I can't change what is an incredible waste of time with these overides the export and also heavy bandwidth, especially as my pages are image heavy, some use 30 + images.

    Is there something that I am missing to stop what is happening to export?

    Thank you

    Hi Matty,.

    Yes, Muse is re - make the images as png when you add any kind of effect; drop in particular the shadows, corners rounded, etc - and when Muse does this, you've discovered your irritation, it increases really the size of your files and the main part of the site. When Muse looks at how you have designed your site and see all these ' added extras ' he does the work of effects for you and re-renders, but with little regard for the size.

    The only way around this is to apply this type of effects in PS and then drop them in Muse with all the extras is already made. In this way when Muse looks over your work and design and sees no 'added extra' that he must return, it must pass over your images without touching leaving them the size of the file, the extension and the conpression as it should for you. This feature is ideal for one person only has a few images, or know not how apply shadows to make a rounded edge etc effect in Psalm... but certainly, you pay for it on the other end.

  • Create PDF without image compression?

    How can I create a PDF from multiple images without any compression?

    Seems that, even if I do optimize pdf and select png (change settings for max res and no reduction of scale), when he saves the PDF, 100% zoom, it is obviously bigger than my original and compressed png (or maybe it seems blurred, because it is to be enhanced when I never asked).

    In short, if my png 500 x 500, I want it to be exactly this size to 100% account once the pdf file is saved to. I don't want no compression, I don't want to any scaling... Why is it so difficult to do?

    Any help is very appreciated!

    However, the conversion can be lossless.  If you make a PDF file from a SINGLE image (different option) and select the image format in files of Type, you can click settings and choose the compression format. Choose the ZIP and equivalent PNG compression is used.

    You also have a precise control when printing to PDF.

    It's just the function to combine files, which is quick and simple, has no choice.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro - change Image Compression/quality w / Javascript?

    Hello

    I have a script to the folder level that will merge PDF files using "insertPages" to add a list of PDF files to a new document. The file size is too large, and I noticed that if I go in the PDF Optimization manually and change the Image settings, so the quality of compression is 'low' for images in color and grayscale images, it brings the size of the file where I need it to be.

    My question is, can I do this in my script somehow? I see nothing in the Javascript reference or Acrobat SDK to update the images in the document. I really want to automate this optimization in my script.

    Has anyone ever done this before?

    Thanks in advance!

    Why not first to merge all files into a single PDF file and then crop and

    optimize only one file?

    Then you'll only process a single batch (to collect the paths of the files),

    and a manuscript of level the record to combine the selected tracks, and then crop

    and optimize the merged file.

  • Levels, threshold, and other image compression does not

    I try to hyper to compress the tonal range of a noise layer in order to get the task, but I can't get any adjustments stick. They display properly, but as soon as they are applied the image returns to its original state. The adjustment is listed in my story, but there is no visible effect on the image. This is true for a time setting and adjustment layers. Adjustment layers are I think the worst because the preview correctly in direct, but flattening, conversion of a dynamic object or a visible stamp all delete all adjustment. It's as if she never existed.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated! It's driving me crazy and delay a major project. I tried to restart the app and the machine with no result.

    They display properly, but as soon as they are applied the image returns to its original state.

    You who are back! In fact, you see an incorrect overview.

    Adjustments preview correctly especially on an image that is detailed with especially pure black or pure white pixels saw less than 100%. If you view at 100% (actual Pixels) you can see what real effect (if any) the settings are seen.  Usually, in turtorials like that, you put a little blur on the noise layer to give a few gray pixels for adjustments to act on.

    (In fact, in your case, you can see the images before and after incorrectly.) Such fine detail, high contrast will only show right to 100% view).

  • How the TIFF format to compress images?

    When we choose "file > save as" to save an image to a TIFF file, a TIFF Options dialog with 4 options of image compression (None, LZW, Zip, Jpeg). What is this for? The TIFF format is Compress images? They are detrimental to the quality of the image? Thank you

    All TIFF compression is lossless, except of course JPEG compressed TIFF (which should be avoided in any case because of compatibility issues).

  • How to disable the PNG Images

    How to disable the PNG Images?

    PNG is a format for images (compressed) as JPG format. There is no way to disable this format.

    If you have a problem with images on web pages, then you will need to block images from certain domains.

    You can watch the Adblock Plus extension to block specific content.

    You must subscribe to a list of filters (for example the EasyList).
