  FFDShow has no need to be open, if you can not get your audio to play because you do not have the appropriate separator installed.

  Media Player Classic doesn't have this divider.

  A bit of theory:

  A video file is usually identified by its extension ("avi", "mp4", "mkv") etc.

  These are only "containers" like a box.

  Inside them, we have streams encoded in different formats (video, audio, subtitles, etc) (for example: audio in MP3 or video in Xvid or MPeg, Dolby etc..)

  So we need two tools:

  1 to open the container and separating ("separator") flows

  1 to decode the different streams, which was the intelligence of reverse the encoding into decoding. It is the role of ffdshow.

  What you're probably missing is the separator to separate streams. Try Haali splitter media (http://haali.su/mkv/). This should allow ffdshow to watercourses and that WMP works.

  I don't know my exact model. It's just a Satellite, and this is the only information I can find.

  It is not easy to say what may be wrong with that. Try to clean the lens and check it once more.

  Our school has three laptops Satellite Pro A60, as well as 12 of the different producers. All except the Satellite Pro machines play DVDs through our digital projectors without problem, but we cannot get the A60s Pro to play. We can put in place the Office on the laptop screen and projectors, but the DVD itself is not displayed on the projector (but not on the laptop screen).

  We managed to get one running by increasing the RAM, but even what is glitch at best and often won t run at all. The other two does not have the image. Any help/advice welcome! Thank you.

  Before you start the switch from DVD to the projector by using the FN + F5 key combination. After that, start the DVD player.

  As far as I know on some laptop models, it is not possible to watch DVDs on the screen and an external device at the same time. It will be shown right on the screen, but not on the external monitor or projector.

  As I have already said device for external use only and after that, start the DVD player application.

  Windows has stopped playing almost all the scheduled windows sounds. It won't even play the default windows sounds. Sound plays on Windows Media Player when called individually.  The speakers seem to work well.  It will be not just play MOST of my model of sounds or sounds by default.  This happened after defrag the C: partition, backup files and do a scan complete antivirus.  I had eliminated as just a backup partition which was too small to use longer and transformed space to be used for my photo files.  All the sounds have been maintained on the main C: partition and should have not been affected.  What gives?  Can someone help me with this please?  Thank you for your attention.

  Method 1:

  I suggest you to follow these steps and check if you are able to hear the sounds of the system:

  a. click Start , click Control Panel.

  b. click hardware and sound and then click sound.

  c. on the sounds tab, make sure that its regime is set to default Windows.

  d. on the Communications tab, select reduce the volume of other sounds of 80%.

  e. click OK.

  f. check if the problem persists.

  I do video editing.  I transferred my camera video file and Windows Media Player played the video and audio very well at the beginning.  I edited the file with editing software and exported the file again.  Now, the sound will not play using WMP but it will play if I use video editing software.

  (a) don't you get any specific error message when you play the video?

  (b) what is the file format of the resulting video file after editing by using the video editing software?

  (c) you are able to play the files on the computer? You hear the sound?

  I suggest you try the following steps:

  O make sure that windows MediaPlayer is not muted, press F7 on the keyboard to turn the sound back on.

  Ø check if the volume is at a minimum in Media Player, press F9 on the keyboard to increase the volume.

  Verify that the default audio device is correctly set

  1. click on start, type Sound in the box to start the search.

  2. click on sound in the results of search at the top of the start menu.

  3. click on the tab reading notice the check mark next to the default device. For most users, the default device is speakers. Make sure that the audio settings are configured as expected. Follow these steps:

  4. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab and make sure that the default Format is set to the value you expect. When you are finished, close this window to return to the previous window.

  5. on the playback tab, select the playback device, click on configure and make sure that the configurations are set correctly.

  6. If the sound settings are well positioned, you are using speakers as the audio device and your speakers are already set as the default device, go to method 5 now.

  7. Select the audio device you want as the default audio device and then click on set as default.

  8. click OK to save your settings and close the sound dialog box.

  Now, check if the problem is resolved.

  I use logic pro x but I use the regular mac as my midi keyboard since I have not bought a real keyboard yet. but will not play a note (A-2). all the other notes work very well, including the other I tried to look in the controls and editing them, but it still does not work.

  It is not in the key commands, it is within the powers of the controller. Open the window controller assignments (cmd-K) (expert opinion) and select the offending message and delete it. Make sure that the learning Mode is power off.
