Migrate from PC to Mac

my PC for my photos directory is C:\pictures\users\jimdad\pictures

my PC for my catalog directory is C:\lr5ciib\LR5_PSE11_Import_from_LT_2013_06_15

my catalogue LR6 name is LR5__PSE11_Import_from_LT_2013_06_15 - 2.lrcat

my data LR6 directory is named LR5_PSE11_Import_from_LT_2013_06_15 - 2 Previews.lrdata

I would like your help in migration LR6 photos and catalog from the PC to the Mac

I'm already under LR6 on Mac

I tried to copy the photos and the .lrdata and the .lrcat for the Mac.

I'm done with 27 k for a value of missing photos.

Sincerely, Jim C

Your K of 27 photos of the disappeared are because as the path of the folder and the name on a MAC is different that there on the PC. Instructions to solve this are here: Adobe Lightroom - find folders and files moved or missing . In particular, see Figure 4 and the associated text.

Also, just to be 100% clear, there is no important in this process. Import is 100% the wrong thing to do.

  • Problems to access the Collections after the migration from PC to Mac

I've migrated Lightroom CC from a PC to a Mac. Everything went very well (all images visible and changes, keywords, metadata, etc.

However, my Collections did not make the trip! When I go to my list of collections (who did migrate) I have a series of vignettes showing that are empty except for an exclamation point and the name of the image file.

Then, I click on that and go to the picture in my new Mac HD. The following messages are displayed when I click on the name of the file:

"The file is already associated with another photo in the catalog. Each file can be associated with a picture.

It seems to me that Lightroom collections there are "represented" images (I keep my same file tree) associate them correctly. However I am stuck and with more 40 000 images I can't really face

Gentlemen, the three of you are awesome! Thank you very much.

I've renamed the initially imported Lrcat &, previews to turn them off and copied into the original Lrcat from my old PC.

The Lightroom/Mac then becomes ignore the images that I had imported incorrectly allowed me to redo the link with the images. Relief soft, it worked.

  • Power PSE user migration from PC to Mac

I was a regular user of Adobe Photoshop Elements on Windows in versions more users.  I have a vast catalogue of 15 k photos organized with tagging complete sets, batteries and the version of the retouched photos.

I just bought my first Mac Mini PC.  I downloaded the trial version of PSE11 for Mac.  The interface is identical to that in PSE11 for Windows.  However, I fight to see if I can pass my catalog existing from your Windows PC to Mac.

    My questions are:

Can I migrate my existing catalog?  I tried on a small scale with importing the photos.  By exporting the tags to the photos in Windows, I can get the tags to move on.  This doesn't seem to help with batteries or version sets and also would require me to reorganize my existing tags in their hierarchy of origin (categories and subcategories).

Can I integrate my PSE11 on Mac with photo stream?  I wish that my iPhone/iPad to automatically import photos.  I had this works on Windows and it works with iPhoto on Mac.

Can I synchronize my PSE catalog via iTunes for the iPhone/iPad?  It has worked on the Windows PC.  However, running the latest version of iTunes 11 and PSE11, I do not get an option to synchronize the pictures of PSE, only iPhoto or Aperture or records.

Thank you very much to all those who can help learn me about my questions.

You can migrate your catalog if you use PES 9 or greater. Perform a full backup on a removable drive using the command organize in windows, and then restore it to the mac. Point the restore to the file .tly, and not the folder enclosing.

Interaction of the PSE with itunes is only for windows. For mac, the path is by iphoto, I'm afraid. You may be able to set photostream to see your default image file, even if - I've not tried it myself, but I think it works.

  • Migrate from CS4 for Mac new

I'm trying to move my Photoshop CS4 on my macbook to my iMac. My macbook doesn't have a full serial number. Missing the last 4 digits. I don't have the original packaging. How can I complete the migration of the software to my new computer?

Lost information - response #1 in https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2008767 (for Mac or Windows programs)

Migration of Mac with Time Machine WILL NOT WORK with the Adobe program activations due to hidden registration files

After you run the Mac program that is in the link above to get your serial number, you must disable this feature on the old computer, and then create a new installation on the new computer

In addition, for the OLDER programs on a new Mac, there is another step, you need to take

This information is a MUST to install old programs on Mac El Capitan

-You can't get the same error message, but these two links will help with older programs

  • Migration from windows to Mac

    Hi all

I'm new to this forum, but not in LR itself. I used lightroom for several months (not an official version ) on my old windows computer laptop and I have a lot of images on this laptop HARD drive. Last week I bit the bullet and bought myself a 27 iMac nine inches, which I immediately fell in love and I wanted to have the consciousness alone and registered for the software Lightroom official and licenses.

Now since this is my first iMac and I had no experience with Apple in the past, I don't know how I can import the picture from my laptop on the iMac. I want to keep all the changes that I made to these images of course.

When I installed the LR software on the iMac, it is automatically created a new catalog of images. Can I just copy - paste the files from the iMac laptop?

I'm sorry if this is a stupid question, but I don't want to lose months of editing by bad.

And I also regret to use an illegal version of LR in the past months. At least it made me understand it as a great piece of software it is and he deserves to be paid for (and that clears my conscience at a time )

You will need to move the catalog and preference files, but also your images. Strive to maintain a standard hierarchy that will make it easier to add a link to the pictures with the changes in the database. For example if all your images are in a subfolder images, move the entire folder and subfolders of images on Mac. You should then be able to simply add a link to the root folder and all the rest will follow automatically.

Your destination folder (as specified in the Destination of Lightroom Import dialog box Panel) doesn't have the WRITE permission. Change your permissions.

  • The profile from PC to Mac migration failed.

I recently made the switch from PC to Mac and can't get my Firefox data migrated. I prefer to be able to transfer the profile if possible (instead of using the synchronization), because the sync transfer my modules. The information that I find in the knowledge base seem to date, so I don't know what the problem is.

I was using the latest version of Firefox on Windows 7. I am now using MacOS Yosemite (regardless of the version that is; I don't am not very savvy Mac yet). I copied the entire Mozilla from AppData folder and crushed the Mozilla folder on my Mac with it, but Firefox is acting like I did nothing - I still have just a basic, clean install. I don't know why it is not reading the data that I copied, because I copied this, INI files and everything.

Profiles.ini should be compatible, but the structure of folders on Mac is maybe different on Mac.

Also be sure to check the permissions of files and folders (read/write access).

You should find the file profiles.ini in this hidden place:

    • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
      * C:\Users\ < user > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\
    • Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox /.
    • Linux: ~/.mozilla/firefox/

It is always better to let Firefox create a new default profile (delete profiles.ini to force a new default profile) and copy only the minimum of files.

  • How to migrate from Fireworks CS3 to a new computer laptop when the key to the series is lost?

I'm migrating from Fireworks CS3 to a new computer laptop. I lost the serial key number so I can't install it again. Instead, I copied the program and export/import the relevant part of the registry. And also copied FLEXnet. However, the program comes the spirit the message "licensing for this product has stopped working". I used the ADOBE recovery tool, but nothing helped. Thanks for any ideas or help them.

Products Adobe may not be transferred, they must be installed using installation files.  If you have an existing installation, then you might be able to get the serial number of this one.
