Migrating from 32-bit Windows XP 64 - bit Windows 7 - create Suite 6

I am migrating from a computer with Windows XP 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit. Install my existing Creative Suite 6 Design & Web Premium or I have to buy it again?

Hello

You can install and activate the perpetual software (purchased) two computers of the same type (mac or pc), as long as you use it on one at a time.

It is advisable to disable the software on a computer on which it will be is most used, especially before giving away or selling the computer or reformat the hard disk. Please see this link: How to disable the software.  This frees an activation if you have the option to install the software on another computer at any time.

You can please consult the system requirements for CS6:-system requirements | Adobe Creative Suite 6

I hope that answers your query!

  • Migrate from 32-bit to 64-bit (oel4 to oel5)

    Hello

We have applications (database) OEL 4, 7 SERVER has SERVER OEL5. Currently oel4.7 server is 32-bit, and we need to migrate to OEL5 64-bit server.
Could someone please help us find the correct steps/docs for this type of migration.

    1 32-bit server
    Operating system-> OEL 4.7
    Version of database-> 11.2.0.3

    2 64 - bit server
    Operating system-> OEL 5
    Version of database-> 11.2.0.3

Note:-we do not seek to upgrade the database. Just Let's break the DB to new 64-bit.

    Thanks in advance

You will need to install the 64 bit 11.2.0.3 software on the new server (pay attention to the pre-reqs), then apply the patches of same to 11.2.0.3 that you applied on the old server, follow the procedure in the above link.

  • migrate from 32-bit to 64-bit

    Here's the scenario.

Necessary for server migration Oracle 32-bit with data files on the DSO to the Oracle 64-bit server

I have move asm so 64-bit or I can juice install oracle 64-bit to new 64-bit server and use the asm oracle 32-bit home.

    Thank you

    Hey wins,

    Thanks for the detailed explanation:

I guess that the OS of the server will be the same - a simple change from 32-bit to 64-bit?
If you don't change the operating system platform.

The best way to do this:

    (1) install Oracle home 64 bit for ASM on the new server
    (2) install Oracle home 64 bit for the database on the new server
(best practices for houses - but it is not necessary)
    (3) establish a standby with RMAN in ASM on the new server - check it please Note: 413484.1 for 32/64-bit permitted combinations
    (4) you just do a single pass and you will be running on the new server

    http://www.Oracle.com/technology/deploy/availability/PDF/maa_wp_10gr2_asmmigrationwithdg.PDF

If min downtime is not your condition you simply implement the clone on the new server with RMAN and invalidate all packages and recompile - that's all.

    Kind regards
    Mike

  • Migration from 32-bit to 64-bit host host 32-bit clients

OK, so this question was asked to me.   We received a new chassis for a blade/SAN solution for free.   The new chassis will be our recovery site and will support 64-bit of the blades (unlike our last production version).    We currently have 32-bit hosts in production with all the 32-bit guests and we intend to put 64-bit blades in the new chassis if we can migrate it 32-bit guests.   What I read 32-bit guests are supported on a 64-bit host but can migrate us host 32-bit to 64-bit host?

It is still too early, so if it's coherent hike or you need any clarification please let me know.

What I read 32-bit guests are supported on a 64-bit host but can migrate us host 32-bit to 64-bit host?

    Yes.  No problem.

    Hello

Before purchasing Windows 7, follow these steps:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Windows 8 does not include a desktop e-mail program, you will need to download and install a. You can also use the start screen Mail application.

If you want continuity in your messaging experience, you can download the Windows Mail successor, called Windows Live Mail:

Download Windows Essentials 2012 (Web installer)
Download Windows Essentials 2012 (Offline Installer)

  • Migration from XP to Windows 7 - where are the photos?

I'll put up a new Win 7 machine. I 30 000 pictures on my old XP machine, almost all in c:\documents and Marc Documents\My pictures\ < date >.  The file structure is different in Windows 7.  What is the best way to make photos the new machine (where I put them in the file system) and not spend the rest of the Decade, reconnect the photos in the catalog?

PSE 8 on the old XP machine will be disabled and reinstalled on the Win 7 machine.

If you use the Windows utility to transfer your account and your files to the new computer, and you use the same account name, it will copy your picture files in:

    c:\Documents and settings\mark\pictures

(the new location for "My pictures" on Windows 7).  Windows also creates a special type of shortcut from the old location:

    c:\Documents and Marc Documents\My Pictures

in the new folder my pictures.   For backward compatibility, programs like PES who tries to open the old location will be automatically (unbeknownst to them) open the new location.  However, Windows Explorer shows that shortcut but it won't let you access it.

So, if you also transfer your catalog folder (help > System Info on the old system to find), in theory when you open the catalog in PES on the new computer, all these former locations stored in the catalog will be automatically directed to the new location.   While this works normally, there are a few pitfalls - PSE can be confused by the fact that there are two different names for the same exact set of folders and files.  I think that this confusion is often harmless, but some people have reported strange conditions that peut have been caused by this confusion.

So if you really want to be sure and avoid using shortcuts backward compatible 'useful' to my images, I recommend to use the backup/restore method to move your catalog and photos, with the new location / option of the Original Folder Structure.   It has its own warts (very deep structures of records creation), but you can clean them up later.  Check out this FAQ and the Adobe referenced tech note for more details:

  • try to migrate from dell laptop windows 7 for Mac Lion Fusion 5

I managed to install a virtual maching runing windows 7, but when I try to migrate using the IP address, I get the message following "Migration converter cannot connect to the remote computer" that the two computers are on the same network.

Also tried to use the code of access but execution in an other error message.

Don't forget: the windows OEM licenses cannot be legally virtualized.

And since you can buy a license anyway, you had better build a VM from scratch - convert VM (especially of the pc vendors) is swollen and unstable.

If you do not need to convert (and have a way to get a legal license) using the standalone vmware converter and build the virtual machine on an external drive connected to the PC.

  • Migration from XP to Windows 7 but drive C is still full

I've migrated my laptop Windows XP to Windows 7. However, my 100 GB hard drive shows 91 used and 10 GB free. I went through all the files in C:\users, registry, uninstall programs and can not find what makes up this 91 GB. How can I see this and then delete?

Right click on the C drive, and then select Properties

Select Disk Cleanup, it will scan the drive for redundant files. Once completed, click on clean up system files and it will do it again but this time with more reported options.

He has several options on what to remove. Windows.Old contains a copy of the user files and more of the XP system so make sure you have everything you need. If selected the update cleaning will result in the impossibility to cancel all windows updates so make sure that you are happy with that. Try to delete Windows.old otherwise normally generates errors in the authorization.

Check the program files to the directories of programs that you removed in the past, it is quite common for these do not properly cleaned for the uninstall program.

Use the root of C: search tool to search all files of a particular type *.jpg will display all the photos * *.mpg, *.wma etc for music files. These can take a lot of space without being obvious where he disappeared.

    migrate from 32-bit PC-to-PC 64-bit

Currently have 32 bit PC (Pentium 4 2.8 GHz 2 GB RAM) running Windows7 Pro 32 bit

Seek new 64-bit PC (Quad Core) with probably Windows7 Pro 64 bit to replace this old pc.

What are the options for should I migrate my software, etc for the new 64 bit PC in more just manually reinstall?

Is there a software to check if my software will work on a PC 64 - bit or what I need to check the manufacturer?

If it is a 32-bit application, it will work fine with Windows 7 64 bit, of course, you need to reinstall the drivers and applications. All drivers must be 64-bit native for your hardware.

  • I'm trying to migrate from Windows 2000 to Windows XP, with all updates.

original title: sharing fails file of Windows XP Home edition

I'm trying to migrate from W2K to Windows XP Home edition (Pro/SP3 with all current updates from today ' hui).  My network has several computers with the help of a working group.  I noticed that WXP defines what is called "Simple file sharing" (SFS) that did not exist in W2K.  However, I think that my W2K installation was equivalent to what we call SFS.  What I shared with readers and only granted the permission reading for everyone.  My migration technique involves the use of multiple bootable media to create the Windows XP Home edition system without changing anything on W2K systems.  The I want to share files on separate partitions of the system drive / start / we.  These data partitions are the same drive letters on all systems.  Sharing works as expected in all cases, except that the new system of Windows XP Home edition won't file to other systems (clients).  All client systems receive the same result which is a message access denied as follows:

\\computer_name\share_name is not accessible.  You might not have permission to use this network resource.  ...

Not enough server storage is available to process this command.

On the new system that is unable to use the files, the event log contains a message that says the following:

The "irpstacksize" server configuration setting is not enough for the server to use a local device.  Please increase the value of this parameter.

I found a number of items on this site about IRPStackSize.  An inspection of all computers reveals this registry key is not set on any of my systems.  This includes the W2K running on the same computer systems that are capable of serving the same files that fail on Windows XP Home edition, with no problems.  Any of those articles gives no justification for what is an appropriate use for the IRPStackSize value.  Moreover, some articles describe a situation where arbitrarily increase the size works for a short period, but does not seem to be a sustainable solution.  In addition, there is a range of valid values, and some articles describe that max is achieved without solving the problem.

Therefore, I am skeptical about the idea that there is a real solution.  Can anyone provide an explanation on why specifying a key IRPStackSize is going to help (or not)?  If Yes, what is the right value?
