  You must install all the operating system software and pre - req. (Oracle E-Business Suite Installation and upgrade 12 Release Notes (12.1.1) for Linux x 86-64 [761566.1 ID]).

• Migrate standard network switch to VDS

  I intend to migrate little my clusters that are running in a standard switch to DVS. Need help to automate this process.

  My scenario is:

  In a 15cluster environment are present 5 are already running in DVS
  but 10 clusters are still a standard switch so I need to migrate the
  already existing DVSwitch.

  By taking a cluster of 10node as an example.
  (1) mgmt and vmkernel are on a vswitch (ex: vswitch 0)
  [vswitch 0 - connected with 2 vmincs]

  (2) virtual machine in a vswitch portgroup (Ex: vswitch 1)
  [vswitch 1 - connected with 2 vmincs]

  On all groups, we need to migrate only machine virtual portgroup
  or vmnetwork (ex: vswitch 1) to off-network vmkernel mgmt DVs.
  My plan:
  First add all cluster hosts to DVswitch
  Remove all a redundant vmnic (ex: vmnic3) connected to the machine virtual portgroup. (Ex: vswitch) 1 and adds it to DVswitch.
  Now migrate all virtual machines connected to a standard switch to dvs. (Here I hit)
  Is it possible if VLAN 10 (standard switch) then consists of 5 virtual machines
  check the VLAN 10 DVS and portgroup network set to 10 VLAN adapter on the
  SMV (I mean can we compare VLAN ID on VSS and VDS and inspiring than us)
  need to migrate virtual machines to a DVS.)

  If you want to restrict the VMS to migrate to some hosts there is a work around.

  Create portgroup VM additional network on the hosts that you want to be allowed and connect VM to present portgroup.

  Well, I know I'm asking help two former products , well, an or our old applications developed using developer suite 2000 & then migrated to 6i which can not be in a way migrated to Oracle EBS, due to financial constraints and the size of the application. We have data with this database of nearly 14 years, and we recently had a major outage due to power failure.

  We recovered the database using dump exp files (sacrificing a number of days of data) and the export made every night was our backup ONLY for the database (as defined by the solution provider). Once we recovered the database, we allowed logging of archive and automatic backups.

  This legacy application is for a service call center which is 24/7, that is to say, put the database offline and making a suggestion cold backup will receive a cold shoulder at the stage of the proposal itself. I can write Windows services that those could automatically create .zip files for entire folders of Oracle binaries in the background on demand or scheduled intervals, even copy them to the backup devices. Just curious to know how reliable is such archive files for data recovery, as I will zip binary files, while the database is online?

  I just bought an iMac 27 "new and decided to keep my 21".  I would like to selectively migrate apps to the new machine.  I have a number that I do not use, but want to leave on the old mac, just in case I need it.  Can I selectively only migrate the applications I want on the new computer, or is it a company all or nothing?

  I currently have a problem with CrashPlan and their tech people think it is linked to a set of Java instructions that appeared last July.  I didn't consciously add any application that requires Java.  The technology has tried to remove it using screen sharing, but was unable to do so.  I don't want to bring forward a new machine, but realizing this is the vacation I expect to get it resolved this week.  I thought that if I migrated only the apps that I know are good, I might be able to prevent the problem.  Did this happen with Migration Assistant?

  Migration Assistant is a utility all or nothing. I suggest that you transfer only what you must leave your existing backups. MY is not a tool to correct errors that you already have. My suggestion is you erase the disk and reinstall OS X, you can start over and do everything right.

  Install or reinstall OS X from scratch

  Make sure that you have backed up your files because the following procedure will remove all of the hard drive.

  HD recovery start:

  Restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until the menu screen appears.

  Erase the drive:

  1. select in the main menu disk utility and click on the continue button.

  2. once the charges of THE select your boot volume (usually Macintosh HD) in the

  You can basically do what you describe, but don't forget to format the SSD for Mac OS extended (journaled).

  Personally I format the SSD and then clone the old information from player to another or use Time machine.

  I would add that Samsung Evo 850 SSDs have been problematic for some users.  There has been a number of questions on these forums.  Note that Samsung does not Mac compatibility for the Evo 850 on their Web site.

  The wife and I have our own computers laptops (MacBook Pro and MacBook Air). We buy a family iMac now children need to use a computer for school.

  The question is how we merge our 2 computers together on 1? Just use assistant Migration twice? We want to be done with Applications, 1 library system folder 1 folder and our 2 user accounts distinct (we can add child accounts after).

  You can migrate a system/settings of one of the computers folder and then migrate only the user account from the other

  You answered your question on this one, there are an involved migration process that converts your old base of 4.2 to 5.2, take into account the fact that migration migrates only the hard parts such as: groups of network devices, internal users, ldap database configurations, network devices, sets of shell commands, to name a few. You will need to reconfigure the authorization policies since acs 5.2 takes on a different model of acs 4.x.

  But the Migration Document, said that the ACS4.x device must be restored to a windows ACS4.x server before migration and backup. This does not seem like an easy migration. Is there another solution?

  This isn't a bad solution, all you have to do is to deploy another server windows just to run acs for windows on, and then you use vnc to walk through the migration process. You will need to open a folder of tac for a person to publish the installation files and patches to put you on the same version.

  ISE is a new product that migrates only 5.x databases. Right now ISE 1.0 not Ganymede support.
