  • BlackBerry smartphones is browser Blackberry Blackberry Services

I have a Playbook and want to increase its functionality by investing in a Blackberry smart phone. There are a few things I'm not sure and would appreciate advice from participants in the forum:

    1. The Blackberry browser automatically comes with the 9320 curve or is it only available if you pay for the Services of Blackberry?
    2. Are there other features (other than the Blackberry e-mail access and e-mail) that comes with the paid for services?
    3. If I connect a Blackberry Smartphone to my Playbook I'll be able to run applications smartphone installed on my Playbook, although there may be not be an equivalent app Playbook?
    4. What is the oldest version of Outlook that can be synchronized with a smartphone?

Hello... and apologies for the late reply.

The browser comes as part of the core OS BB on the device, but depending on the level of the OS, it may or may not be able to operate without an adequate data plan subscription. Some (most recent) OS levels allow the browser to function very well via WiFi BB only, while others limit the browser race strictly via BIS (even when WiFi is the data connection only). Opera can be installed on the BB as a replacement browser and normally works very well when WiFi is available. Many 3rd party applications have parameters of configuration inside of them to direct the application to use BIS, BES, WiFi, etc. for their course of data... we must be sure to have the apps configured correctly to allow them access to a functional way, especially when BIS is not due to no data plan subscription.

    See for general guidance:

It is not quite fully updated for the newer operating system levels (see above re: BB browser), but it is generally reasonable to use.

Other than BBM and SMS (in newer versions of PB/BB/bridge), I don't know any way to run, your PB, whatever your BB at all. On the BB, he has the ability to remote control of the PB (via Bridge of BB), but not the other way around as far as I understand. Since you will not subscribe bis, you won't have BBM anyway.

    See this orientation:

    • KB12268 Support for synchronization for BlackBerry Desktop Software for Windows

It is not in itself a function of the smartphone... but rather the version of the desktop software that is in use.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Magnify browser text/image

Hi all!  I'm a newbie on Blackberry assignments.  Just bought my Tour 9630 and real love it but I have a TERRIBLE TIME TRYING to READ THE TEXT in THE BOWSER.  Is there an application that I can download to increase the size of the browser text/images.  It is impossible to read more... and I'm not so old

Go to your browser, Options, General Properties. Now, you will see where you can change things. I have mine to column view, global Serif, size by default and Minimum value 8. Experiment and see what you come up with.

Hi @joedevo! Welcome to the Forums! I'm sorry that you're having problems with your BlackBerry.

    Please check this box:

    • Go to Options (the one with the wrench)
    • Select Security>Parental controls.
    • Please check if the Parental controls is enabled, this could be the reason why you cannot use the browser and the BlackBerry App World
    • If it is enabled, see if the "browser" and "Facilities application" are NOT checked
    • Uncheck the option "Activate" entirely o disable Parental control, you will be prompted to enter a 4-digit password. You must know this password to perform this task.

Furthermore, you got this unit brand new?

    Good luck!

    my blackberry "BOLD" 9780 used can open Web site, for example. www.Facebook.com www.youtube.com, but now he cannot not the browser can only open wap or mobile site, please help, what do thnx;

    Hello alikadhian12,

    Welcome to the forums.

The option to enable the full version of the Web site will be site specific. For example, if you visit www.youtube.com and it redirect you to m.youtube.com then you can scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see an option 'Office '. If you click it, you will get the full version of the site.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure if Facebook® has the option available.

I hope this helps. Nice day.

I just got the "BOLD".  When I went to click the browser icon is the browser from MediaNet.  I can't change the homepage on it more, I already have the MediaNet browser as its own separate icon.  My old blackberry was a regular on browser. Is it possible to reinstall the usual browser this icon?  I don't know how he got the MediaNet browser-related. I used the Blackberry Desktop software to transfer data from my old blackberry to it, but everything else seems to have yielded very well.

MediaNet is the ATT browser, HotSpot is the Wifi browser.

Call ATT Customer Center and ask for the Blackberry Internet browser

  • Native Blackberry blackBerry Smartphones web browser

    Hello

I am Nishant Potdar, I am owner of Blackberry 8520 curve, and very often I use the native browser of bb instead of any other third-party browser.

I have a question about this browser. Whenever I want to open multiple windows (tabs) in the only browser, so I can't do so, as I do the same with the native browser of android phone with which I'm much more comfortable than blackberry.

So, I would ask you to get rid of it as soon as possible and provide us with an update of the latest browser soon.

I hope that you understand my problem and waiting for your solution of expertise sooner.

    Thank you and best regards,

    Nishant Potdar

    Hello, Nishant.

Having several tabs open on your browser is a feature of the OS 6.  Unfortunately, your phone is running OS 5, which does not allow for this.

Some people have attempted to upgrade to OS 6 on their phones of 256 MB, but I would strongly recommend against this; your phone's internal memory is not OS 6 work correctly and you would run only in delay and freezing constantly.

When the time comes for you to upgrade, I highly recommend an OS 6, 7 OS or QNX telephone (when available) as your next choice.

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphone Internet browser works is not on my 9700.

Out of the blue today my browser just stopped working.  My camera no longer works.  Tried the camera in case of problems and managed to make it work temporarily by putting my finger in front of the flash but that only allowed me to take black pictures so I think that the lens is struck down.  I can't live without the camera.

But I can't live without the browser.  I get the message unable to connect to the internet please try again later

I can always download fromblackberry app world apps, play the music of my apps, use applications.  receive email, bb messenger works. Send SMS etc. I can connect via wifi or network.

I tried to clean the cache, make the diagnosis of the mobile network, battery pull.  running out of ideas

    Any help would be appreciated.

I am in canada and my provider is fido.

Hello and welcome to the community!

There is a current major outage... official information are available here:

From my experience, this affects BIS, BES and all services that depend on those (BBM, email, AppWorld, web browsing, application access to the data from the internet, etc.). Troubleshooting specific issues during this interruption may be unnecessary.

Once the fault clears, if things are not yet flowing for you, try the following steps:

    (1) registry HRT

    • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > host Routing Table > (it matter little what line is current) > sign up now

    (2) Service reference books

    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

I hope that will move things again for you!

    See you soon!

  • Failng to blackBerry Smartphones via browser downloads

    Hello world

I have download video podcasts, usually by the browser that I have been unable to find a podcast program that deals with videos.

Much of the time, the file will be partially download, seem to hang for a while and then fail. This happens even when I am in a strong 3G signal.

Could there be a reason why this happens a lot?

    Thank you

    Paul

    Hello

I managed to find an answer to my problem, so I thought I would post it here in case anyone else has similar problems.

Now, I use Opera Mini. I managed to download several files ranging from 30 to 60 MB, with no download fails at all.

Opera Mini also supports the RSS STREAM, which is handy to know when these sites are updated with the new podcasts.

    Thank you

    Paul

  • BlackBerry smartphones delete browsing history

I would like to know how to delete the history of navigation on my Blackberry Torch. If anyone has some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Open your browser.  Press the menu button (button beside the trackpad BB) and select Options.  Scroll down even to clear browsing data.  Decide what you want to remove from this list, click clean up now.  Everything will be deleted, just like you wanted.  However, here is a little word of warning.  When you leave a page on your browser to access the Options, this page remains in memory.  When you open your browser again and type in an address, this page will be appear immediately while your browser is looking for the address you typed in, so clear what I have loaded, then press the back button until you can go back no further.  THEN your story will be history (clever, huh?).

    I hope that helps you.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Web browser problem

I was using my web browser yesterday when it rather suddenly a white bar 'dead' at the bottom of the browser that does not display anything.  At the same time, the small blue arrow at the top of the browser that could be used to open the search bar shows at all.  In addition, to make a new search, rather than scrolling up, I have to press the menu button and select ' go to ' every time.  Finally, I use to be able to scroll through a Web page by using the trackpad, but since yesterday, I have to use the touch screen.

I don't have these problems in my facebook application or in the rest of the phone. I would really like this problem because I use the browser frequently and is very annoying.

Hello and welcome to the community!

Each time a random strange behavior or slowness comes, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:

    • Pre-BB10 ONLY devices. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
    • Peripheral BB10. Hold the top button until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the unit to be completely stopped (for example, nothing appears on the screen, no lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red light. Wait through the entire boot process. If this fails, you can try the method of battery-pull above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.

See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy.

    Good luck!
