Missing DVD players

Hello

I do not use my DVD players for a while and just went to load some software and found two DVD players are listed is no longer.  I checked Device Manager and they have both of the yellow question marks, but when I check the drivers it says I have the latest drivers for both.  A drive is a Dell #HL - DT - ST - DVD + - RW GSA-H31N and the other is an ASUS #E616A3T.  On both Device Manager States "this device cannot.

Start (code 10).

I have no idea what to do next.  Will someone please help?

  • My CD & DVD players disappeared from Vista 32.

My computer has a triple boot of installation; Vista 64, Vista 32 & XP.
Currently, Vista 64 and XP are both able to use CD & DVD players.
Vista 32 is a clean install which, initially, recognized readers
and behaved normally.  After installing the ATI for the XFX HD 4350 driver
card video through the graphical installer, ATI Catalyst, readers have disappeared.
Setup of catalyst has also loaded "distributedables studio 2005" along the
    pilot.

Not only does the Device Manager lists them specific readers but it is not yet
    the CD/DVD drive category list.

If this does not work, you must restore your computer to a previous state.

Follow the instructions below to restore the operating system to an earlier time.

    1. Click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    1. In the System Restore dialog box, click Next.
    2. In the list of restore points, click a restore point created at least a week before the current date, and then click Next.

Note: If you do not find a restore point that is aged for at least a week, select the first point of restoration that is available.

    3. Click Finish.
    4. The computer restarts. The system files and settings are returned to the State they were when the restore point was created.

If the problem persists, you must update the latest drivers for your CD/DVD drive.

  • Missing DVD/CD ROM (drive E).

I had trouble burning a CD when I realized that my CD-ROM/DVD-ROM has been totally absent. I think I need to install new drivers, but don't know where to find them. I have Windows 7. Help, please!

    Hello

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

  • After that I did a refresh, my DVD players is no longer recognize disks

an update of Firefox would not change your DVD players, being able to play DVDs, however, will update to windows 10.

  • Will there be another windows coming out soon with the floppy drives and DVD players.

Will there be another Windows coming out soon with the floppy drives and DVD players.

    Hello

Disks: I don't think so. I always keep 25 floppy disks for Windows 95, should be a few thousand disks for Windows 10. Very, very, very expensive to store files and transport.

Of DVD: would soon come out, new machines will have 10 Windows (who knows) pre-installed or downloaded. You can always find Windows 10 DVD in some countries where users will still have to use dial-up Modem.

    Hope it makes sense.

  • Satellite 1410-902: DVD players that are compatible?

My CD of Toshiba s1410-902 is broken and I would like to change to drive DVD or a DVD recorder. The problem is that not all CD/DVD IDE drives will work with this Toshiba. BIOS accepts only final pushes some of the manufacturers, but I don't know which.

Where can I find the list coplete copmatible for this model of Toshiba DVD players?

    Hello

You are absolutely right. Each car can not work with every Toshiba laptop. Unfortunately there are no public list on compatible players. I recommend you call service partner in your country and ask them. I presume that they have enough experience on the hardware upgrade.

Maybe you will be lucky and someone improved the same unit but if not call and ask the technicians.

  • Two DVD players showing in 'My Computer' - Qosmio G20

    Hello

I have a G20 and for some reason, Ive got two showing in my computer DVD players.

The first is called "DVD player - RAM" and is known as the D: drive. If I put a CD or DVD in the drive, then it appears on this icon.

But there is also a second called "DVD player" and it is known as the E: drive. It appears not all of the disks I put in the machine. If I double click on it, it gives just the usual error saying "Please insert a disk in the drive."

Can someone explain the difference here and why I have this second drive?

    Thank you!

    Hello

On this path, it is not easy to say what is happening here. As far as I know some applications to create virtual drives and I n know not for what applications are preinstalled on your machine.

Otherwise, you can go by car properties (right mouse button) and click on the Hardware tab. On this site, you will be able to see the type of device.

  • What DVD players are compatible with Equium A60 PSA67E?

my question; What dvd players are compatible for an equium a60 (psa67e-001001en)?

background; I did a very stupid thing! while I was at the Japan and about 18 months after buying my a60 in the United Kingdom, the packaged dvd player. I replaced it with a teac dvd player and it worked like a dream! I threw the old disk (I think it was a matsu * has, but can't remember the exact model). in any case, I came home and had a little time on my hands, so I decided to set my machine and corrupted the windows xp registry.

Now, windows xp runs in the loop, I can't access and I need to wipe the hard drive and start again essentially. I put the recovery disk in, but the computer doesn't read him and desperately wants his wacky way to windows. I believe that it is not recognizing the teac drive that I used to replace the old. I think that if I put an original return type, the firmware can recognize the drive and I'll be back in business... or so I hope!

of course, all the other tips would be welcome too! Thank you.

work around? PS a work around, I thought so... copy the contents of the diskette of recovery on a hard drive (using my old computer) can change the current hard drive in my a60 with it... theory; When the computer detects the content during the start-up, it will install xp on another part of this drive and I have a working machine once again. could - this something like this work? any thoughts?

    Hello

Have you checked if the CD/DVD drive you purchased is a recordable disc? If this is the case, there should be an indication (e.g., CD-RW/DVD-RW). You can also check for the indication Device Manager.

If you have confirmed that it is indeed able to write on the discs, then try to activate the IMAPI. To do this please see the instructions below.

    1. click on start

    2. click on run

3 type "services.msc" (without the quotes)

    4. in the window that opens, you select IMAPI

    5. right-click on it and select "Properties".
