Missing fonts - InDesign CS3

I read everything I could find on the mssing fonts, but continue to have problems with opening the InDesign files and receive a message on a police missing (Arial Narrow).

InDesign CS3 v5.04

Two users (Administrator and user (with the Local administrator rights) have no problem with missing fonts when you open the same file.

Two different users (who both have Local administrator rights) receive the message about missing fonts when you open the same file.

The PC has the police loaded in Windows,

I copied Arial Narrow in the Adobe\Indesign\Fonts directory

I deleted all the files from Adobe*.lst

After the Adobe*.lst file is recreated the lst file has the specificity of Arial Narrow in the lst file.

Don't know what to try next

I did not understand the original message that users working on the same PC. Who would like to do away from the problem of the police, I think, and perhaps to a corruption of preferences, although I couldn't say for sure.

I think trying the patch would be a good thing, and Yes, there are perhaps Adobefnt*.lst files in each user profile that should be deleted (maybe it's all that is false). Otherwise, replace preferences for the users concerned may be in order.

On the same machine, assuming there is no problem on customizations user of everyone that you don't want to share, you can copy the profile data of one user to another without problem, or you can rebuild each bad set from scratch. See this page for instructions (in English) and don't forget to read the comments. Adobe InDesign CS4 * setting preferences

  • Missing fonts InDesign CC

    I have a laptop that I use when I work away from home.  My laptop is a macbook pro that I bought recently (early October 2013).  Both my iMac and macbook are passed by the recent updates to the Mavericks and my iMac works fine with creative cloud.  However, when I was trying to open documents I share via the drop box on my laptop, using InDesign CC who was just upgraded a few days ago, I was told I was missing 3 fonts, all fonts that are always in InDesign.  So I turned off my computer and restarted it, and now it tells me I'm missing 9 fonts!  I have to go out of town for a family emergency tomorrow and I need my laptop.  I searched and have no idea how to fix this.  It is a headache I really don't need right now, so any help is very appreciated.

    These are the missing fonts:

    Bell MT "BOLD"

    Average BlairMdlTCTT

    Book Antiqua Bold

    Bookman Old Style

    Bookman Old Style bold

    Cambria

    Cooper Black

    Mona Lisa solid ITCTT

    Caslon great Medium

    And honestly, I have not tried uninstalling/reinstalling InDesign CC - is it possible?

    Most of your missing fonts appears to be fonts that are installed with Microsoft Office, with the exception of Blair, Mona Lisa and Big Caslon. These fonts appear in your FontBook app?

  • missing fonts in Indesign CS3

    I have a weird problem with missing fonts in InDesign CS3 and Photoshop CS3 under Windows 7 64-bit. PostScript fonts are not on their menu, but are listed as being installed in the menu \windows\fonts. Fonts are also available in Microsoft products and in Framemaker. The strange thing is that the old saved files that use PS fonts have always listed fonts (but not other fonts PS). If I open a file inherited with the particular font to PS, I can create a new InDesign file that will have this font available. If the legacy file is not open, the new file will not police as an option. I know that the CS3 products are pre-Win 7 64 bit, but Framemaker, for all its ancient code, works like a charm.

    By fonts PostScript , we assume you mean fonts Type 1.

    There was a problem in CS3 as you describe. The problem is solved with the CS4.

    The solution is to copy the Type 1 fonts (both the.) PFB and. PFM for each font file) in the InDesign and Creative Suite-specific fonts directory. They will be seen by the CS3 applications.

  • Fonts missing after migration to InDesign CS3

    After migration to InDesign CS to a new PC, a font is missing: Arial Narrow family. I've used this for large number of tables in a book, I need to find a method to retrieve this font. Arial Narrow police is listed in the installation of Windows fonts (Vista). The police is also listed in the font list of InDesigne CS3 on my old PC.

    Is there a way to fix this?

    Thanks, Joop

    If this does not work, you will need to copy the old policies of the other system and reinstall new versions.

  • Missing fonts in Indesign

    Hello, I have problems, find missing fonts in my Indesign CC program. At work, they use an earlier version of Indesign CS5 and of course the fonts are there, but when I work at home, I can't find the fonts anywhere in my CC version. I need this problem as I work from home due to problems of connectivity to work. I read in some forums of old, and I'm sorry, I guess I'm a noob here, but there was so much confusion open type, Extensis Suitcase... and so on.

    I need a very clear answer how get these fonts on my computer. I don't know why Adobe have brought to this program. Also, I looked through fonts Type Adobes kit nothing helps. So, it's really confusing. Please help me because I need this resolved as soon as POSSIBLE!

    At work, use file > package... and include the fonts. Take the case of the House package and the fonts should be available in the file without having to install.

  • InDesign CS3 missing INBOOKLET. PLN

    Hello
    I created a file in InDesign CS 2.0 using a plug-in "inbooklet.pln".
    When I open the file in InDesign CS3, a window opens saying "missing plugin: inbooklet.pln. After you click OK, however, I can work with the file.
    But these windows follow poping up everytime I open my files and I have a lot of files like this.
    Is it possible to turn off forever?

    In CS3, I thing they used the "inbooklet.pln" directly in the program itself, and not simply as a plug-in but CS3 retains the opening pick her up every time.

    How can I make my files open without the missing plugin notification?

    Thank you very much for your help!

  • Problems with fonts in InDesign CS3 in Snow Leopard

    Has anyone else had problems with the font book and InDesign CS3?

    Just had some new Mac Mini running Snow Leopard against Migration Assistant an old Mini. Initially, every thing seems to be great. But on the opening of the ads in Indd CS3 I noticed that fonts disappeared, even if they have been enabled in the font book.

    Then I reinstalled the necessary fonts and we don't use iLife and iTools products, I traded the Helvetica TrueType for the version of Adobe.

    It does not work...

    So, I have rebuilt the Mac fonts installed, once again, a CD original and installed InDesign CS3 clean (orig DVD)...

    Yet once again, did not work.

    Now, I know I can put fonts required in the folder Fonts in InDesign, or store them in ~/Library/Fonts, but since we have a library of 3000 + policies that manage our users with the font book, it will become unworkable.

    Anyone could launch a patch or fix this, another way...?

    There is a Snow Leopard update, you will need to search in preferences/software update system after the upgrade. After the reboot, this problem has been elminated for me, fortunately!

  • Missing fonts in InDesign via javascript

    Hello

    I want to list all missing fonts in the Indesign file via javascript

    I was a little confused with no. 2 and no. 5

    1 FontStatus.installed1718831470

    2 FontStatus.notAvailable1718832705

    3 FontStatus.fauxed1718830689

    4 FontStatus.substituted1718834037

    5 FontStatus.unknown1433299822

    that one must use or should I use these two?

    Please help me

    Thanks in advance

    Mahesh J

    Hello Manu,

    You can use only no. 2 [FontStatus.notAvailable 1718832705].

    Because points 5 is a rare case. If the application unable to identify the status of the police then only he presented as 'UNKNOWN '.

    For a list of missing fonts, you can use only the 2 bridge.

    Kind regards

  • the font size of InDesign CS3

    Hi all

    Could you please tell me if it is possible to change the font size of the InDesign CS3 menus?

    And I don't mean the size of the text that I work with in the program, but rather the size of all the letters:

    the status bar (which shows the zoom of the document, for example, 75% of the State: ever recorded, etc..)

    the icons in 'tools '.

    all headers

    I'll be very greateful for your answer, because everything is too small for me in the programe and I can't quite see.

    Thank you!

    Lol not without the computer screen... something you don't want to do.

  • InDesign CS4 missing fonts

    I'll try that again.  After the upgrade from CS2 to CS4, there are many missing fonts from my system, in particular the Warnock Pro family.  How can I get that back?

    My CS2 Premium came with a disk called Resources and Extras, and in this drive is a folder called Goodies. In the subfolder of InDesign, you will find some fonts. There is also a folder called documentation, and in this folder, you will find that another called fonts which is where Bickham Script Pro and Warnock Pro are hidden.

    Similarly, CS4 came with a labeled disc content, with a Goodies folder contains a subfolder fonts. I'm not sure wheter you woould get images with a download to disk, but I think so.

    You can install these fonts normally as with any font - you wouldn't need to run CS2 or CS4 Setup to access.

  • Modify the filter script to check missing or outdated links AND missing fonts

    OBS: Script InDesign CS3:

    I have this script:

    if (app.documents.length != 0){

       var myFrames = app.activeDocument.textFrames;

       var thePageNames = new Array();

       for (var j = 0 ; j <= (myFrames.length - 1); j++) {

         if(myFrames[j].overflows == true){

           try {

             thePageName = myFrames[j].parent.documentOffset;

           } catch (e) {

             continue; // must be on Pasteboard so ignore

           }

           thePageNames[thePageName] = 1

         }

       }

       if (thePageNames.length == 0) {

       } else{

           var s = "";

         for (i in thePageNames) {

           s = s + app.documents[0].pages[Number(i) - 1].name + ", ";

         }

         s = s.substring(0,s.length - 2);

         if(!confirm("Overset text on page - continue?"))
         exit();

       }
    }

    With the same princip and funtion, I want to also check for:

    1. missing or outdated links

    2. lack of fonts

    Can someone help me to rewrite this? I tried with this for the part of links, but nothing happens when I run the script:

    if (app.documents.length != 0){

       var myLinks = app.activeDocument.links;

       var thePageNames = new Array();

       for (var j = 0 ; j <= (myLinks.length - 1); j++) {

         if(myLinks[j].status == LinkStatus.LINK_MISSING || myLinks[i].status == LinkStatus.LINK_OUT_OF_DATE == true){

           try {

             thePageName = myLinks[j].parent.documentOffset;

           } catch (e) {

             continue; // must be on Pasteboard so ignore

           }

           thePageNames[thePageName] = 1

         }

       }

       if (thePageNames.length == 0) {

       } else{

           var s = "";

         for (i in thePageNames) {

           s = s + app.documents[0].pages[Number(i) - 1].name + ", ";

         }

         s = s.substring(0,s.length - 2);

         if(!confirm("Missing or not updated links in document - continue?"))
         exit();

       }
    }

    Hello

    I modified line 13 in your code, that it will work and then added the code for missing fonts also. Try this

    If (app.documents.length! = 0)

    {

    var MY_DOC = app.activeDocument;

    myLinks var = MY_DOC.links;

    var thePageNames = new Array();

    for (var j = 0; j)<= (mylinks.length="" -="" 1);="">

    {

    If (myLinks [j] .status == LinkStatus.LINK_MISSING: myLinks [i] .status == LinkStatus.LINK_OUT_OF_DATE == true) {}

    Try

    {

    myLinks [j].parent.parentPage.documentOffset = thePageName;

    }

    catch (e)

    {

    continue; should be on the editing table so ignore

    }

    thePageNames [thePageName] = 1

    }

    }

    If (thePageNames.length! = 0)

    {

    var s = "";

    i in thePageNames

    {

    s = s + app.documents [0] .pages [Number (i) - 1] .name + ",";

    }

    s = s.substring (0, s.length - 2);

    If (! confirm ("missing or not updated links in the document - continue?"))

    Exit();

    If (fun_FontMissing)

    If (! confirm ("missing fonts in the document - continue?" ""))

    Exit();

    }

    }

    function fun_FontMissing()

    {

    var isFontMis = false;

    try {}

    for (var i = 0; i)<>

    If (MY_DOC.fonts [i] .status == 1718832705 |) MY_DOC. Fonts [i]. Status == 1718834037 | MY_DOC. Fonts [i]. Status == 1718830689) {}

    isFontMis = true;

    }

    }

    }

    Alert (ex);

    Exit();

    }

    Return isFontMis;

  • InDesign CS3 does not not with OS10.5.8

    I have loaded InDesign CS3 on a former Mac G5 that I just upgraded to 10.5.8 and InDesign does not work on it. It starts to load and the InDesign rectangle displays on the screen but the wheel continues to turn. I do a forced close to get rid of it.

    Any ideas how to get InDesign work?

    The first thing, have you updated CS3 for the last patch, 5.0.4? You may need to download it from the Adobe.com site and manually install as ID does not currently.

    Delete font caches can help, maybe not.

    Also, it's pretty typical of Oriental missing fonts Adobe or a problem in the subsystem to SING. This OLD article talk for older versions, but solutions would be the same: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/328/328886.html some users find they need to remove the back to SING and SING plugin entirely. Unless you set the Asian type, you won't miss them.

  • Missing fonts in imported PDF files

    I have a document with several PDFs 'Place '.  When I go to print, it tells me that I have lack of fonts.

    To search for a font, I see missing fonts and what they came to PDF.  Only search a font will not let me replace it.

    I can't change the font in the PDF file either because it was not made by my Department.   I tried with and without frame setting.  Tried incorporated and related.

    Here is an old workaround that might do the trick. Add a transparent element to your PDF and then use for your vector fonts flattening preview, every once in a blue moon that works, even if the required fonts are not on your system (I think). In Acrobat, go to Document > watermark > add > text (hit the SPACEBAR) to 99% opacity, this will add a transparent invisible watermark. Go to Advanced > printing > Flattener Preview > vectorize all the text > Apply. If you see a message that the fonts should be post incorporated, read Peter # 1 once more and print out the PDF to an image, this option may be under Advanced options in your print dialog box. Not ideal, difficulty, but might suit your needs.

  • How to get rid of pink highlights on missing fonts?

    Hi, take a look at this screenshot.  See how the text is highlighted in pink?

    http://imgur.com/9Udspvl

    I worked on this document, which was started by another developer, and I have all the right fonts.  I know.  InDesign has replaced all the missing fonts by something similar, and it's fine for my needs.  Then, I was working on the doc for two days, with missing fonts, and everything was fine, roses only highlights.  Then somehow (I don't know what I did to trigger it) all missing fonts becomes highlighted in pink.  What I've done and how I put back it?  I don't want the missing fonts highlighted in pink.  They were not like this before, even if the fonts were still missing.

    Another thing about this document view has changed as the rose also, appear.  At first, when I got a picture or text that ran out of the page, it was not displayed.  The finished page where it ends, and the extra part of the image that would be cut has not been demonstrated.  Now it shows images that extends off the page.  You can see in the same screenshot above.  This setting affects this and how do I put back it?

    I hope this makes sense.  Thanks for any help.
