Missing "Go" field emails sent through Thunderbird 38 email address

I had problems with emails sent through two addresses using different servers set up on Thunderbird do not arrive with their e-mail address of the sender. This happens only for the update for Thunderbird 38. I reinstalled 37 and hopefully, updated using 'Help' "on Thunderbird" and the problem is recurring. I have not tried to install 38 directly to a download. It doesn't happen when I send using GMail in Thunderbird, GMail systems probably insert the correct information.

You can file a bug for this in Bugzilla, but try safe mode first. Hold the SHIFT key when you start Thunderbird. Just in case where there is an add-on that does not have the update.

  • Using groups of Windows Mail contacts without displaying the FIELD email addresses; and without having to use the BCC field?

I want to see all the names of everyone in the group in the TO field: only the names of individuals in the Contact Group and NOT to display their individual addresses alongside their names; and I don't want to use the BCC field (because it will appear all the names). Is this possible?

Unless you have included their address in a part of the field name, the addresses must disappears from view when sending. That said, all they need do is click on transfer, reply to all, or view the message source and they see all the addresses. That's why the BCC option was created. Bruce Hagen

  • Validation script to match in a field course another (to check e-mail address)

    Hey everybody,

I have an Acrobat X form that I'm working on.  Two of my fields are:

    Email address

    and

    2 email address

I have a validation script in place under the email address to ensure that the user enters a properly structured e-mail address.

I need an Email address 2 validation script that makes sure that everything they enter matches what was entered in the field email address.

Someone at - it script alreafy built for this?

    Thank you.

If you want to test an exact match, you could do something like:

Get the value of the first e-mail address

    em1 var = getField("Email_Address").valueAsString;

See if the value of this field to the other, but only if this field is not empty

    If (event.value & event.value! == em1) {}

    App.Alert ("your error goes here.", 3 ");

    }

You could add code to reject the value (event.rc = false) or do a case-insensitive comparison by converting two lowercase field values.

  • Emails sent via Thunderbird are not saved on the e-mail server.

I have a critical problem with the backup of the emails I sent to Thunderbird.

The application works very well, that everyone sent mail is correctly saved in the folder "sent" located in the e-mail account of TB.
The problem is that messages are not saved on the mail server associated with (in this case, pop.mail.yahoo.com), so whenever I have to reinstall the software, I lose all my outgoing emails. If I access my email on yahoo.com account and email from there, it is regularly saved in the sent folder there.

I would be grateful if someone could
    (i) say me if it is a known problem, and if there is a way to remedy through Thunberdird server or Composition settings.
(ii) if there is a way around the problem by saving the file 'sent' located in the Thunderbird mail folder on my HARD drive. Is it possible, after the reinstallation of the application, to paste the file sent to the Mail folder? And I want to save the "Sent.msf" file as well?

Thank you much for the help.

The problem is that messages are not saved on the mail server associated with (in this case, pop.mail.yahoo.com),.

With a POP account, this is the expected behavior. Only the Inbox folder is visible on the server, all the other files are the.

To access the other folders on the server, for example your sent folder, you need to configure your account as an IMAP account.
    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/glossary-terms-including-types-accounts#w_imap

so whenever I have to reinstall the software, I lose all my outgoing emails.

You should not need to reinstall the software in the first place. And even if you do you will not lose any position, unless you deliberately remove your Thunderbird profile.
With pop, all mail is local to your computer, including the "sent" folder.

If there is a way around the problem by saving the file 'sent' located in the Thunderbird mail folder on my HARD drive.

In fact, you must back up the entire profile.

Is it possible, after the reinstallation of the application, to paste the file sent to the Mail folder?

As said before, nothing is lost when reinstalling the application. If you want to move to a new computer by simply moving the profile.

do I have to save the "Sent.msf" file as well?

If you want to backup files individual mail, you don't need to save the *.msf files. They are just the index files and contain no mail. They are rebuild automatically when you start Thunderbird.
In any case, to save the entire profile is the recommended method.

  • Thunderbird mail of BT yahoo email address prefixes [spam]

When I open Thunderbird to read mail from BT yahoo, mail is the [SPAM] prefix. This has happened in the last days, BT maintain there is nothing to do with them, and to my knowledge, nothing has changed in recent months. The messages do not appear in BT yahoo mail junk e-mail.
Whislt talk to BT, they sent me an email (like Thunderbird was opened) received without the [SPAM] prefix and this morning an email from Amazon received while Thunderbird was opened, again without the [SPAM] prefix.
He does not have with e-mail from an e-mail address Orange/EE.
Can I avoid this, please? (That's all just annoying rather than criticism and me unfathomable)!
It started on 19-10-14 after that I had not used my computer for 5 days and I opened all 3 addresses both through Thunderbird (as normal) for 60 e-mails with the [SPAM] prefix - previously everything was fine - and BT had yet filtered on emails that I considered as spam.

Thank you, the only thing I have running is AVG internet security, which has email and anti-spam protection. I found a box that has the fecility to add [SPAM] to emials sees it as spam.
This is great - thank you very much.

  • accounts locked messaging iPhone 6 + missing, missing notes, iCloud email? !

    Hi all

I'm desperate for more help please.

I have an iPhone 6 + 128 GB running iOS 9.3.4. I just noticed in the last few days or all my notes and all but one of my email accounts have disappeared from my device and I can't seem to get back them! I have travelled abroad (in Greece) for the last four weeks and noticed the question while I was there, but decided to remedy this when I got home.

I think that my notes may have been attached/linked to my iCloud email address (this email has not been used as my Apple ID and has never been), but when I tried to add this in my mail application I get a message that my account has been blocked for security reasons. So I tried to unlocked do so I can add it to my phone again and hopefully recover the missing notes. I have zero luck with that. During the unlocking process, I have the option to do it via e-mail or security issues. Safety issues tell me that I don't even know that my date of birth and e-mail option sends the email to the address iCloud Apple have locked? !!! Quite ridiculous. I'm really perplexed and a little disgusted by flawed how this reset password unlocking process is. Not to mention the possibility of not being able to recover the notes that I lost and they contain a lot of important information! I have a back up on my PC (Windows), but I fear that the use of this will wipe away anything from my phone that was added after I backed up before my trip abroad or other data.

I am also having a very hard time to add my gmail email accounts in my mail as application his requesting information server etc, that I simply cannot. I've never met before and I have no idea what caused it. SO I would appreciate some help with this please. I really, really need to solve this problem...

    Thank you very much

This looks very suspicious to me - as if someone took over your account.  I guess you try to unlock your Apple ID, through the standard process, and, when're asked you your date of birth, told you that it is incorrect.  This probably means that someone else is in your account.  Never share your Apple ID / password with anyone?  Perhaps they have been compromised, especially during your travels abroad?

What about adding email accounts in gmail, when you click Settings > mail > accounts > add account, simply choose 'Google' as the type of account and all appropriate server information will be provided for you.

  • Thunderbird will support a number of incoming email addresses at the same time?

my current e-mail program will not work with any os later than win xp. I have a number of email addresses that are delivered to a computer and are organized in different folders by my current e-mail program. Existing my computer is too old to continue with him want to upgrade to a new machine and I hope using Thunderbird for email. This will allow multiple addresses and if so where can I find how to install and configure?

Yes, you can have several e-mail addresses set up as e-mail accounts to receive mail.
You can configure POP and IMAP email accounts.

    Download Thunderbird from here:

Choose the language and the type for your operating system.

When you Thunderbird the first run time, it will create a default profile.
It will then ask you if you want to create an e-mail account.
A wizard helps you through the process.

Basically, file > new > existing e-mail account
or the icon Menu > new Message > e-mail account
Enter the name, email address and password.
    Click on the continue"" button.
Thunderbird trying to locate the configuration.
Make sure that the correct type is selected Pop or IMAP
Use the "Manual Configuration" button to change the settings manually.
Click 'Done' to create the email account.

  • Imported contacts have SMTP with the name of the recipient after the email address and cannot be sent.

I imported my contacts from Outlook, from a CSV file. In the e-mail section, I get the name, sometimes with "and after the email address, I get SMTP and the email again. Of course, it cannot be sent. What I have to go through all my addresses and change each of them, or is there a better way?
Example: My e-mail address appears as follows: [email protected] SMTP Hoogeveen,.
In some I get quotes here and there, or.

I would suggest to edit the CSV file and import again. Much easier than the use of the address book to do. Have a look herewhere I discuss editing CSV in a spreadsheet.

  • Thunderbird is a hidden ' mailto: ' line in each email address I put in the body of my message. It screws the processor end on the mail server I maintain upward

I maintain a club email list by sending plain text commands to him such as:

    Subscribe to [email protected] members

(If you're old enough you get an idea of which continues to use the web master).

Thunderbird started attaching an invisible "mailto:" in front of each of the email addresses in my orders and the remote server rejects them. I see these hot links in my sent folder to outgoing mail.

I have disabled HTML processing and tried to send text only, but hyperlinks are always there in my copy sent the message in plain text box.

I have POP my mail for some reason, more even than just my own convenience.

    What is going on?

    -russest

Use ctrl + u to see the source of the message. I think that you will find no sign of the mailto: source, which means it is added to display the link for you. Since it is internal and private to Thunderbird (unless you can prove that it really is in the source of the message), then I don't see how it affects your server. Your server is not looking at Thunderbird, is it?

  • Thunderbird change outgoing email address

    Compose a new email:

In the field 'To' I start typing an address. Thunderbird offers a drop-down matches of my address book. I select one of the addresses. Thunderbird puts in the field "to". At this point, my cursor is still in the field "to". Then I hit enter to move to the next field, & Thunderbird changed the email address to a different address (an address that is different from my address book).

If I add a space after the e-mail address before you press Enter, Thunderbird leave the email address as it is.

Behavior is somewhat random - address is not replaced all the time. In addition, for a while, Thunderbird will make a change - as always change address X to the address, then it will switch to another change - address Z always replacing address w.

The alternative address is always one that is in the address book.

Also, Thunderbird colors randomly a few e-mail addresses out in red, even if they are in my address book.

This is known and reported bug the developers are working on a fix critical. Please note that this bug only occurs if you are using TAB or ENTER.

Two options, but I recommend option 2.

    1. if you use your mouse to select the email address and use the mouse to move to the next line then it does not.

    2. suggest using this method. This method does not require using the TAB or ENTER keys, so will not produce the bug.

    Write a new message.

    • Use the Contacts Sidebar
    • 'View' > 'Contacts sidebar' or toggle view using the f9 key.
    • Select address book only SELECT strung
    • Click on the button 'TO Addto' or other options.

You can follow the bug here:

You can "vote" for the bug... in the upper part, where it is said:

    • Importance:-criticism with 13 votes (vote)

This is not a forum 'cat' or 'support', it is used to report bugs and developers will use, then do not enter do not comment, unless adding new useful data, but you can vote for it. You must register to vote etc.

  • When you click on the name in the address book - email address looks different in the email address bar and can not be sent - why?

I've been using thunderbird for a few years - in the last month when I tried to send e-mails, I have a problem with some of them as part of the email address changed when I insert it ino the address bar and has quotes around the first part of the address before the @. I tried to remove the addresses and re - insert them but the same thing happens. If I go to the address bar and delete the commas that the email is sent - can I overcome this problem without having to enter each email? I send emails to many people and change each one who has the problem takes a lot of time. Not all e-mail addresses has this problem. Many thanks - Tim

    The space is not evident.

The most common and probable cause is you copy paste the email address.
This can very easily copy paste an empty space and empty spaces do not appear as an easily detected error. But this is the only scenario that I found which produces the question you had - incorrect address Contact framed by double quotes around part first - pre @ but the blue link is good.

It does not occur if you have an e-mail address is sent to you in an e-mail and you use the left click on the email address and select "add to address book".
It should not happen if hand typed unless an error is made.
