  You must either install Snow Leopard on the MacBook and upgrade, or go to a Lion-compatible Mac, download the installer it and either use drive mode target to perform the installation or create a license key from it.

  Jump Snow Leopard will probably require that the internal drive of the MacBook be repartitioned or deleted.

  Click default programs. Then click "associate a file type or Protocol with a specific program.

  You see a list of file type, .appref-ms? I stated it in my Windows 8. The description is the ClickOnce Application. The default to open this type of file is a click once Application Deployment Support Library.

  If you hold down the SHIFT key at the launch of the Organizer, you should get a dialog box with the choice to start with a new catalog, repair the current or open an existing one. If starting out with a new catalogue works which should mean it is a problem with your catalog rather than a Mac problem.
