Missing update of Windows 10 icon

Missing Windows 10 Update icon in system tray notification area. Windows 8.1 runs on HP Pavilion p6-2350 PC. All Windows updates are up to date. I tried every "fix" for what I found on the internet with no luck. Still no icon. So, how am I supposed to reserve my copy of Windows 10?

Hello:

This is what has worked for me on 2 of my PC that just would not receive this icon appears...

I have compressed upwards and attached a tool that hopefull will put the icon for windows 10 get on the taskbar of your PC, as it did for me.

To run it, unzip the file and right-click on the file and select run as administrator.

After reading the disclaimer notice, run the first menu item to confirm your PC has the required updates.

Then run the second menu item, and it is the one that did the trick for me.

Then simply click on the GET W10 icon to get a software booking W10.

  • OfficeJet 4500 G510g: software HP does not work after update recent Windows 8.1

It is one of the three HP OfficeJet printers, which essentially has the same problem.

This printer has been in service under window 8 and 8.1 of Windows (and before that, with Windows 7 and Windows XP) and fully functional (even if I only used print and scan with this printer), it is connected by Ethernet to my local network.

After the recent updates of my system (I've enabled Windows update to automatically install all Important and recommended updates) the HP Solution Center are more recognized this printer.  My first action was to remove the device (using the control panel:connected and printers) and then attempted to add a printer.  Windows adds that a printer has failed.

My second attempt was trying to add a device.  While that * fact * seem to succeed, the specific printer icon has been replaced by a generic printer icon and control panel:Director something did * not * show the printer in the list of devices!  She has shown a print to the printer queue, however.  HP Solution Center did not always recognize the printer.

For my third attempt, I went to the HP support site and downloaded all of the following: OJ_AIO_4500_G510g-m_Full_Win_WW_140_408, printing HP and doctor Scan, the diagnosis of HP network and user HP printer Installation Wizard.  Using the full installation package, I uninstalled just the specific printer software first (leaving the solutions, digital imaging and other software in place - they are all used by my other printers as well) then tried to reinstall all the software installation package specific printer could not conclude, as he could not find the printer on my local network!

Then I ran the Diagnostics of network user and found the 4500 (and a 6000, but not my 6300!  I had not yet done any changes to the installation of the 6300!)  The recommended action is to download the full installation package and run it.  Even if I had downloaded manually, I leave Network Diagnostics continue - download failed before finishing.

Then I tried printing and Scan Doctor, who took nearly three minutes to tell me that the 4500 was not connected to my network.

I then used the web server integrated for the printer by opening a browser directly session by its IP address.  The printer is online and processed as expected, but Windows still does bllind to it.

I then tried installing printer Assistant, but she missed like printing and Scan of the doctor.

Frustrated, I have re-directed the full installer, but this time after selecting the uninstall, I let him remove all HP software, knowing that I would then need to reinstall all three printers.  I downloaded the full package for my OfficeJet 6310xi and my OfficeJet 6000 - E609a (after checking that all three were supported by HP for use under Windows 8 and 8.1)

Then I started the resettlement for all three printers procedure, starting with the 6300.  This facility has failed after leaving an Add-a-device shortcut on the desktop.  I tried to use the shortcut to add the printer, but he did not better than my first attempt

Then I tried with the 4500 and 6000.  Even failure for each of them.

I uninstalled all three printers, but became suspicious of something else than an obsolete installation package (even if I had downloaded the latest versions on the HP support site!)

I made one more attempt to install the 4500 - after uninstalling just - and this time he only gave me the option of installing additional software!  Something had clearly been left (probably in the registry) the installation program takes to mean the printer was already installed!  So I canceled the installation attempt and decided to look a little deeper for the remains of pieces of attempts and prinior facilities.

A search with the found registry editor a few each printer detritus left behind in the registry and search for foud Program Files, a large number of files related to the printers.  I was quite impressed by for each printer uninstall programs!

In particular, in the SYSTEM ROOT and sections registry have been entered for the Olympic GAMES of 4500 and 6000 JO under the subsections MULTIFUNCTION.  Even administrators system to a Windows system cannot usually change permissions to delete these entries, I left those alone, but I wonder if this is what prevents the installation program to install the printing software.

It is not only the installation and HP software support which is defective after the recent updates of Windows.  Such widely used and stable programs like Firefox, Thunderbird, and even Windows Explorer has been updated unexplainable in their behavior.

I am desperate to get my printers fully functional again!  I strongly suspect a compatibility issue, but I really need advice here!

    -Barr
