MobileMe and Palm Pre?

My company recently "upgraded" our Exchange Server.  Now, the server works with raspberries and iPhones.  Not only I have access to e-mail on my pre, I no longer have access to my contacts and calendar information.  If I enter these data in iCal and address book on my iMac at home, it is possible to synchronize these things up on top of my pre via MobileMe?  More importantly, can I give my log in info so she can keep my calendar updated for me and have all sync?  If not for MobileMe, what other solution would you recommend?

I can't wait to get my double assistant all my appointments, but I'm not giving up my pre for a Blackberry and AT & T is not an option.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  (Good mood ribs would be tolerated).

Just a tip: the solution seems to be to use Google Calendar and gmail as an intermediary between the pre and Apple iCal and address book applications.  Apple ICal and address book syncs with Google applications.  Google apps sync with the Pre.  This gives you the choice.  If you want to use Apple applications, you can use them for data entry.  Once Google apps have been implemented for synchronization with the Pre and Apple applications, you never need to open Google again.  On the other hand, if you prefer Google apps, you can do your data entry there and allow synchronization to update forward and the iMac.

In my case, my assistant will record in Google on the desktop (Windows) to update my calendar and contacts.  (Google makes it easy to give another person editing privileges.)  It will take double entry - which will result in some crawling errors in - but that's the best I can do until my company decides to support the Pre.

  • SMS does not work with T - Mobile CZ and Palm Pre

    Hi, here is my problem:

I bought a Palm Pre from the Germany. Everything works fine, but there is problem with sending messages. I tried to ask in the Czechs, precentral forums or my carrier and no answer has solved this problem. So I ask the heart of the problem, the Palm developers.

There are guides to get or modify certain parameters of the carrier, but without any documentation. I see in \usr\lib\luna\CarrierNetworkSettings.db3 and /var/luna/data/CarrierNetworkSettings.db3 for my carrier this line:

And IMHO it should be the highlighted area in the smscNumber column. I tried to change, but nothing worked.

I tried this phone with my friends by CZ Vodafone and O2 CZ SIM cards and everything worked very well. The problem is only mind combination with T-Mobile.

I also downloaded new ROM of Palm.com/ROM and it has the same values.

And my carrier: there is not much info on the configuration of the parameters of phones, but the number highlighted should be ok.

And of course the error message. There are screenshots:

So guys, what do you think about this? Where is the problem? How to solve it? Can anyone help? Are there any other DB where phone reads the parameters?

Yes. My Palm Pre has been activated with my Czech SIM T-Mobile without problems and App catalog works as well.

Edit: And here's problem at the main post resulution: I ask the new sim card (I had an old since the time of Paegas (10 years ago)) and everything is now ok.

  • Yahoo Mail and Palm Pre

I have problems with my paid Yahoo email account.

During this first week of my pre, Yahoo and the pre have been better and better. Initially, my deleted emails were not be deleted from the Yahoo Server. They are now.

Here are my last two problems:

    (1) I put my sync manual (to try to deal with my problems of battery life), and yet the Meadow always regularly retrieves my e-mail address... Not a big deal, but see #2.

    (2) even when I was on airplane Mode or even turn my phone off, I always get an error code 5 Yahoo trying to connect to my e-mail via a web browser. This error indicates that "another device has logged in to your account and so e-mail is not available now. I need to do to tag emails as spam or not since E-mail app for the pre does not support that. I am able to retrieve electronic messages through web client on PC. It is as if one or two faces does not release the connection. (I have a ticket to Yahoo).

    Any comments would be appreciated...

    Thank you

I have a "ticket" on Yahoo, but in the meantime, I deleted the account Yahoo, waited a few days and then added.

This "re-install" seems to be good! I now have ALL my inboxes and can be both the phone e-mail application AND web client on a PC and actually work in both places at the same time AND BOTH SIDES SEEM to BE in TIME REAL!

    Thank you Palm and/or Yahoo...

  • Palm Pre calendar, screen saver and Conference questions

    Hello

I am a Palm Pre (Sprint) 1.4 and the Palm Pre Plus (verizon) 1.4 user.  I use the EAS option to connect to my company groupware system.  I have two problems, I need help:

    1. on the Sprint and Verizon, location of the grille section seems to offer very limited space.  Minimum Adequetly so that when I'm on the road and I am trying to get an address or con-calls, he doesn't seem to have enough space to support location data.  In addition, there seems to be no option to scroll left or right to see the data.

    2. on the phone from Verizon, when the screen saver comes in and the screen turns off, the only option is to press the power button on the top right of the phone.  However, when the phone is flipped open, it's a physical impossibility.  I then have to return the phone closed and then press the button.  It's a question on Sprint phones and through a software upgrade they have enabled the option to press the middle button a screen saver option Michael.  The same option on the Verizon phone is necessary.

    3. I don't know if it is a function or a lack of, of the CDMA network, but it would be nice to a conference call of the United Nations and switch between private calls.

All-in-all, I'm very happy with my phones and think that WebOS is more operationally effective phone OS on the market.

    Thank you

    Babak

1st edition. Just, I typed a few characters in my location section and had more than 100 characters without running out of space. Never came to fruition. To access you type on a line of text, hold down the option key down, and move your finger to the up, down, left, right anywhere on the screen. It will be your cursor from that direction.

    2. I have sprint, so maybe verizon is different. But by pressing any key on the keyboard while his opening turns my screen turn it back on.

    3. no idea on it.

  • More Palm pre WiFi and AT & T

I just bought a Palm Pre Plus for use with AT & T.   I have a few questions about the use of WiFi.

When AT & T tell me that WiFi is disabled on the palms of AT & T, are they just reference to the "attachment" function

which allows the phone to be used as a mobile hot spot?

If the phone is connected to my home WiFi network, it means I save data to use on my AT & T Bill?

Now that AT & T is the elimination of unlimited data plans, it is particularly important.

Thank you.  I hope someone can help.

    Bruce Berman

Yes, they are referring to attach.

And Yes, connect your phone to your own WiFi network will save its use.

  • Palm Pre, Bluetooth and other phones

I will have no problem using a hands-free bluetooth, or my wi - fi.  However, I can't my Pre and my rants to talk to one another - to send the contacts from your old phone again pre.  I'm not familiar with Bluetooth profiles: PAN, PBAP, HFP/HSP, A2DP, AVRCP - I do not understand well what these all say.

Post relates to the Palm Pre P100EWW

To do this the Pre needs bluetooth OBEX profile. Who, at this time, he didn't. This does not mean that it will not be added however. This is not a hardware issue, but the software.

  • Calendar of transfer and Tungsten E2 for Palm Pre contacts

    Hello

Im trying to transfer the contacts and calendar information from a Palm Tungsten E2 to Palm Pre. Im doing this at le nom d' a school support us in our IT Department and just want to sort or tell the school that is not possible because they have going about it since a few weeks now. I have tried to export the Palm desktop .dba file to yahoo calendar, then a .csv so I can import it into a google calender, however, it does not work.

Is there any backward compatibility that the Pre offers for the E2?

    Thank you!

    Chris

If all data has already been in palm desktop. You can use the migration of palm tool to transfer the data to the device.

  • Palm Pre and Blue Ant Q1

Someone at - it this combination of Q1 and the pre?  This is the inconsistency of the connection.  It was the blind.  I have to turn the phone completely off discovery and resynchronization... sometimes.  Sometimes, it works without doing that, but that was the only solution I found to this day.

Pre set updated to Web OS 1.0.2... Blue Ant Q1 upgrade 8.15...

Good people... I finally decided to help out the Pre again.  I returned to the Sprint store and decided to try to pair it with the DEMO model in the store to see if the blue ant would stay connected with the phone locked screen.  HE DID IT!   So, I started the process of Exchange... 45 min later the tech comes out and tells me that it cannot replicate the problem.  I sat down with him and associate my phone to my helmet & he has continued to work. Then I tried something I forgot to do...

I put in a lock key... Yes, a simple release button & phone started to empty my connection again!   So, we swapped phones and I tried with the NEW phone and everything worked... PALM.  SOMETHING IS SCREWED IN THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS. BT IS FUCKED UP!

  • For the HP Palm Pre 2

    Hello

I use palm pre 2, I had the problem recently after reset it...

It not Signin and messeging 'it is perhaps because of the low network coverage or the setting of the phone to your SIM card must be entered manually.

now, I do this (IDEA using SIM-India) manuallly but it does not work.

    Please suggest me a solution...!

Hello and welcome to the HP support community.

As it has been explained several CIHI, several times in the number of threads, webOS servers have been closed.  No profile of webOS more.  No more backup.  No more App Catalog.

There are some discussions 'stickied' at the top of this forum discuss this.  Try it, which includes links to articles on bypassing the webOS servers.

  • Printing from Palm Pre

Announcement 'Happy Baby' shows print from a Palm Pre for a printer, but the site has no indication of what is required (next to a HP x).  There is a link to the website of Palm (now owned by HP), but nothing on this site.

    Can someone explain.

ePrint work on a Palm Pre, like any other connected device internet.  Add an attachment to an e-mail message addressed to your HP printer connected to the Web and press send.  For more information or how to find the email address of your printer connected to the Web, please see HP ePrintCenteror ePrint FAQ.

  • Palm Pre cannot do timed Pause or break closes in a dial string. (e.g. online access to the Conference; Access voicemail; NBR of 10 digits, pause, spindle)

I called Palm support who told me to use commas for 1 second pauses, even if this was not documented any where ever I could find. After thanking them and hanging up I tried. It does not work. Commas are deleted as soon as you click DONE to save the changes. I called Palm, with the same number of tickets, and they have reproduced the problem. 18 hours later (as promised), they called back to say there is no work around, but software engineering focuses on this offer in a future update.

Now, I can not access voicemail (1) Office, with House (2) answering machine, voice conference lines (4) (3) cable phone that requires entry of a PIN; (5) launching my own conference for others to compose in bridge.

Those are often used while I'm driving (auto speed) 1 access key to an integrated chain of 24 characters with 2 breaks is a huge requirement for safety and convenience.

This will be a major issue for the business users and the fix should be in the next push of software. This cannot be considered a new feature request, it's a bug. Even in charge think commas should work. This seems to be a mistake to design and test.

[Later note: Although there is an open ticket to Palm, I have also posted here in the hope others would chime if this feature is important to them.] Visibility + Votes = pressure + interest = fixed sooner?  ]

Features of technology of the Palm Pre are works perfectly for me. I don't know how something this basis exceeded the testers.

Have you tried 'P' for break?

    Just curious...

  • Palm pre more (Verizon) does not connect to the Exchange Server

I've been on the phone for 3 days (bought the Verizon Pre the day it came out) and couldn't connect to my companys mail server. I had a Palm Treo 755 for years and have always got my email to that. After days of talk with representatives of the Palm, I am told that no. Verizon Pre is able to connect to a server to exchange corp at this time. I'm quite upset hereby, since after listening to a Council of representatives of Palm, I've had a computer scientist to ensure that our server was updated, we had the correct certificates, etc. This of course took hours to complete, and the person of COMPUTING time is not cheap. So afte spend all that time and money dealing with this, I learned today by a supervisor at Palm that ANYBODY on Verizons network is able to connect to their mail corp server and that it was an issue that is discussed in.

I searched the forums and found a lot of this Sprint service problems, but didn't find any with Verizon. Anyone else out there on Verizon and unable to connect? Or maybe the better question is, someone out there have a pre with Verizon and IS able to connect to their server Exchange (EAS)?

Correction to my last post. After doing a reset on my phone and update of our server, I was able to connect to my email. Thank you for your comments update to SP2. Overall, I am still very upset over the phone support provided Palm. As I mentioned before, I brought to the SP2 SP1 vs option several times by phone and I said whenever it was not the question. Even my computer, have fought a little, to get this update since that he had heard the same information I did representatives of the Palm on the phone. After you have created an account on here and PDAguy pointing me to the long thread about people having a similar problem, I showed it to our it guy and he has fortunately upgraded our server to SP2.

I'm happy to get this issue resolved, but feel still Palm mislead me along the way, probably cost me over $ 400 in IT supports, lost my time and traveling in a Verizon store to swap a perfectly good phone and I try the different options which should not be fooled. I did 3 different calls to Palm (with my COMPUTER technician who has been paid by the hour) and each call lasts about 1 to 1-1/2 hrs. Most of the current time on hold any 'research' rep my question.  Even had a representative on the phone to me lie and tell me that he was able to connect to our server (using my info) with a meadow he had with him. He told me so I had a defective phone, and I was directed to return to Verizon to switch the phone outside. After I had passed the phone out, and of course, it doesn't work, I was then told by another representative of Palm and his superior that it was a known issue and that person is with Verizon was able to connect to a server (with a pre) because of a software problem on the phone. I got a refund from Verizon to get this phone for $149, but with all my time lost, the cost of my computer and the lack of knowledge by representatives of Palm, I think I have probably the most expensive Palm Pre Plus there.

  • Call on Palm Pre

    Help from Palm Pre:

    "

    Forward calls

Note Depending on your wireless service provider, your phone can be without this feature. Check with your ISP wireless on the availability and pricing of calls rerouted; extra charges may apply.

You can transfer calls to another phone number.

    1. Open the phone.
    2. Open the Application menu and click on Preferences.
    3. In the calls, the value or both of the following:
      • Call forwarding: Press on or off.
      • Enter the call number to the front: enter the number you want to forward calls to. Click to edit an existing number.
    "

Sprint does not have this - am I missing something?  Looks like him you wish because they charge per minute for this feature.

Simply dial * 72NPANXXNNNN (area code, Exchange, number) to start the transfer. * 720 to stop.
