mode locking and DCUI

Can someone give me a guide for the novice associated risks:

(1) not activating the mode of locking on the hosts

(2) do not disable DCUI on hosts

I'm relatively new to vmware, but since I work at risk, these results have been raised in a security check, I wanted some suggestions of experts in dangerous how these findings are - perhaps in the context to know if they expose the data on clients that reside on the host? Please keep fairly basic answers.

If you enable or disable the locking mode using the Console UI to direct address, permissions for users and groups on the host are ignored. In order to preserve these permissions, you must enable and disable locking mode using the vSphere client connected to the server vCenter. 1At the direct Console User Interface to host procedure, press F2 and log in. 2Allez for the lock Mode setting configure and press to enter. 3Press Esc until what you return to the main menu of the Console UI to direct address. • 2 TM lock and DDL shared lock mode

    (Oracle 9.2)

    Hi guys,.

    as I understand it,

a 2 lock TM mode allows the DML to occur, but stops the other DDL occurs.
a shared lock of DDL allows the DML to occur, but stops the other DDL occurs.

Therefore, is it safe to say shared DDL lock = mode lock 2 TM? or I've simplified things too?

    Thank you

    Oracleguy,
In a way its correct to say cela, but they both work in different ways. Lock TM is essentially for the tables for the DMLs.As long as you a few LMD hotel the table, others cannot make a ddl top and corru [pt it.]
The shared DOF is mainly for tables not just for other objects as well. If we see the definiition of documentation,
    {quote}
    Share DDL locks

Some DDL operations require DDL locks for a resource part prevent destructive interference with contradictory DDL operations, but allow competitive access to data for similar DDL operations. For example, when a CREATE PROCEDURE statement is executed, the transaction containing acquires locks DDL share for all referenced tables. Other transactions can simultaneously create procedures that reference the same tables and consequently simultaneous locks share DDL on the same tables, but no transaction can acquire an exclusive lock for DOF on any referenced table. No transaction can modify or delete a referenced table. Thus, a transaction that holds a DDL lock is guaranteed that the definition of the referenced schema object will remain constant for the duration of the transaction.

Action DDL lock is acquired on a schema object for the DDL statements that include the following: AUDIT, NOAUDIT, COMMENT, CREATE (or REPLACE) a VIEW / PROCEDURE/PACKAGE/PACKAGE BODY/FUNCTION/TRIGGER, CREATE the SYNONYM and CREATE TABLE (when the CLUSTER setting is not included).

  • I broke my external hard drive and now it locked and disassembled?

I just have a lot of questions here. After trying many things I found in a deeper hole.

I use an external hard drive, it's a Seagate Backup Plus 1 TB external hard drive. It is formatted and partitioned, I did using the steps for me the Web of Seagate site, when I got it.

I entered the hole, I'm right now because I had backup problems near the top of my photos of Lyve on my external drive. I think the reason why they would not return, it was because my drive was in offline mode in the "Status" section in Lyve, despite the fact that disk utility says the status of the disk is online. I researched and found out that this can happen if a.) the storage is full or b.) the wifi connection is bad or a connection is not available. When I opened my Seagate dashboard, I discovered that my drive was full, so I thought that was the reason. This made no sense to me because there was no way that I had somehow already packed 1 TB, I had saved only once and it is brand new. However, I deleted a ton of pictures I put in 'Lyve Import' and then allowed the trash. (I must have accidentally imported them several times, so the photos doubled several times or something because altogether they are 50 GB, 1 TB not...) That seemed to be the source because then my drive had 938 GB free!... But my drive was always in offline mode.

So I refreshed, rebooted, unplugged and replugged, returned Wi - Fi works for Seagate Lyve and my computer. But my drive was still offline even though disk utility always says that it is online.

Now, I'm still trying to find out why, it's that my drive has been appearing offline in Lyve when I used different Wi - Fi connections in different places and they all worked well, and I have lots of storage. One of the reasons is that the partition on my drive has still pictures of Lyve copied import, I had deleted, because there is almost no storage on this score somehow, I suspect. As you can see in the second photo, the score says he has only 16 MB of available space, and I somehow used GB 999. If it is the same as before, I don't know how to access this partition, and then delete them. It is a copy of all of these photos of Lyve Import? However...

NOW, currently the main problem that prevents me from continuing to investigate on the previous question is: I had encrypted my external hard drive some time ago. After having annoyed having to enter a password long so many times because of the reopening and that to solve the problem 'offline', I've deciphered this hard drive clicking in the Finder by clicking Decrypt. I entered the password to do this, and have decrypted AFAIK because the password has been accepted. But now my drive says that it is locked and disassembled? What? It is shaded in the left sidebar of disk utility. It does not appear as a device plugged into the Finder. It's as if he is not yet here, but I can still access Lyve. From what I understand, my disc encryption would protect its ' content with a password. Decryption, it would mean that I wouldn't have to type a password to access? Seriously worried that I screwed to the top of something because I did not understand what the consequences would be here. In addition, why my player not appear when the score indicates the status of the disk is online?

I have included pictures of both the disk and partition information, and what they look like now in disk utility. Previously, from what I remember, in the information section of my car he had about 948 GB available, was mounted and he said it was a logical Partition encrypted, if it is of no use. It does not display this information now because it is locked, correct? I did not delete anything?

As you can tell, I didn't know what I was doing the same in the first place - and now, I'm stumped. Please bear with me on this because all of this formatting and partitioning, and editing and similar is confusing me, only knowledge I had performed since the steps provided in the forums or on Seagate and Lyve directions on their website. I really don't understand what that means anyway - I wasn't trying to screw around things just... Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

^ Note that this is what my Finder looks like now despite the fact that my external hard drive is connected. He always used to display the full drive Center 'FAVORITES' and 'TAGS' as a device that is currently connected, with the option to display its "table of contents or eject it.

Update - I managed to solve this problem using this forum:

How decrypt external hard drive, so it can be re-partitioned

Make it wiped my drive, but given that I had pictures about it as I have copies on my computer, which was not serious.

My dell Inspiron 1150 windows xp password son has locked and the screen displays the dell logo and says that I need the master password or administrator, my son can't remember and we do not have the reset disk, is it possible to get and reset the password or enter the system

If you are using XP Home Edition, the built-in Administrator account probably doesn't have a defined password. You can start in safe mode, where this account will be selectable when connecting. It allows to connect and change the password of your normal connection.

To start in safe mode, keep hitting F8 twice a second after turning on the PC until you get the start menu where safe mode is selectable by the up/down arrow keys, and then press ENTER.

If you are using XP Professional, try to connect using the built-in Administrator account. You don't need to do it in safe mode (although you can if you wish). If your normal login screen is a display of the user symbol and hit ctrl-alt-del twice to get to login to text entry. Type administrator as the user name and try a blank password.

  • The referenced account is currently locked and cannot be logged on to. How to unlock it?

This is the error I get when I enter the correct password also. I have Windows VISTA and I have a set a local policy for the account lockout threshold. My friend wanted to break my password without knowing it. It is not a domain account. Mine is an independent home PC. There is a single account that is my account. I tried in safe mode (even with the command line too), but even then I get the login screen & tell me to enter the password. If I enter the password, it says "the referenced account is currently locked and cannot be saved in. There is no fingerprint reader in mine either. So how I now access my account & see my Office I couldn't since 4 days now! Suggestions, please WELCOME!

Next time consider that to have a friend who does not really know what there mess in this connection with your computer isn't a good thing. Nor is defining an account lockout policy without knowing what you do or creating an additional administrative account so hot either.

The faster and easier to solve this problem is to enable (disabled by default) built-in Administrator account and set a null (blank) password. Allowing this account will put an icon for it on the logon screen so that you can then you connect, make an emergency administrator account (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or other), change the passwords of other accounts, etc.. When you are finished, log on the built-in Administrator and in the "CompAdmin" account and disable the administrator built-in again if you want this additional security (recommended). Leave the account "CompAdmin" rise and future emergency situations given that the account for your daily work must be a Standard account. See the end of this post for general information on configuring user accounts in Vista.

    http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Download CD (.iso) image and burn as an image, not as data. You will need a third party burning software. Then boot with the CD that you created and follow the directions.

Once all of your changes, on the account of CompAdmin disable the administrator account integrated yet for security reasons:

Start Orb > Search box > type: cmd
When cmd appears in the above results, right-click and choose "Run as Administrator" [OK]. Now, you will get the command prompt. At the command prompt, type:

NET user administrator / active: No. [Enter]

General information of user accounts *.

You absolutely don't want to have only one user account. As XP and all the other modern operating systems, Vista is an OS multi-user with system built-in accounts such as administrator, by default, all users and guest. These accounts should be left alone because they are part of the structure of the operating system.

In particular, you do not want one account user with administrative privileges on Vista because the administrator account integrated (normally only used in emergencies) is disabled by default. If you use as an administrator for your daily work, and this account is corrupt, things will be difficult. It is not impossible to activate the built-in administrator to rescue things, but it will take third-party tools and work outside the operating system.

The user account that is for your daily work must be a Standard user, with the extra administrative user (call it something like 'CompAdmin' or 'Tech' or similar) only it for elevation purposes. After you have created "CompAdmin", connect to it and change your normal user account Standard. Then log on to your regular account.

If you want to go directly to the desktop and ignore the Welcome screen with the icons of the user accounts, you can do this:

Start Orb > Search box > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    Original title: Program Files gone?

Recently, I started my computer and noticed that a bunch of files are corrupt, and left most of my shortcuts.  I went into Program Files and discovered the entire file completely empty.  The computer says to run chkdsk b/c the program files are corrupted.  When I run chkdsk/r, it indicates that the NTFS is locked and I have to restart to run chkdsk.  When I reboot, the chkdsk never runs.

My wife has all of its graduates work on the computer, I backed up since then, but I try to avoid doing a restore of the entire system.  Can you help me?

    I am running Microsoft XP.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with your XP system.  For XP support please visit the link below
    http://www.Microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/list/en-us/default.aspx?DG=Microsoft.public.WindowsXP.General

Also, try to start the computer in Mode safe.
When the computer is switched on 1, start pressing F8 until you get a menu of Windows startup, choose Safe Mode.

Sounds like something important happened (corruption).  If you have important data there (for example, your wives, diploma work), I would strongly suggest taking the computer to a qualified technician so that they can recover data out of there before the drive goes down or the o/s is too damaged.

  • The referenced account is currently locked and cannot be saved in

    Hello

About three days ago, I am entered the wrong password into my computer and received the error message, "the referenced account is currently locked and cannot be saved to." I let the computer turned on for a long time see if this resets eventually, but I get the same error message. There are no other accounts on the computer and I do not currently have a password reset disk or the Windows 7 installation CD. I tried to access the system settings to turn off the need for a password to log on to the computer and change the date and time system, so the time lock should be reset, but it did not work.
Any help would be appreciated, especially since if I had reset and reinstall, I would lose a lot of files and programs that I have purchased, which would be expensive to replace. Another friend of mine had a similar situation, but the blocking period was 30 minutes, so I'm not sure what the problem is here.
    Thanks for your help!

Your running your PC mode at high risk:

    -No disc reset
    -Only one single admin account
    -No backup file
-No installation media for your applications (and maybe no list of product keys)
    -No CD repair
Each of these steps takes only a little effort to implement. Without all in place, you are likely to get hurt someday. You can probably fix your current problem as follows:
-Ask a friend to burn a CD to repair for you.
-Start the computer with this CD.
-Use a system restore to set Windows in a week.
    -Revise the list above.
  • Cannot lock and send data to an Excel add-in planning application

    Hi all

One of our customers uses Essbase 7.1 version and planning 4.0.1

The question is when one of their user tries to lock and send data to an application of addin planning Excel Gets the following error:

"You don't have sufficient access to perform a lock on this database"

But he is able to lock and send through a form web planning without any problem.

The user belongs to a group that was supplied with some filter access that the planning application and write permission is given for this filter. The filter has been created from the side planning and was rejected.

Also in excel, under Essbase-> Options-> tab Mode, the "Update Mode" option is not checked.

Can someone help me on this topic.

    Thank you
    Raja

    Hello

What is a recent thing? I guess they use these versions for some time? If it's a recent thing then I would start by looking at what has recently changed on the server.

One of our clients had a problem with a version a little older (3.3 planning and Essbase 6.5.4.2) where each user had 2 filters in Essbase. "User1" was the filter of planning and "User1_" was the Essbase filter for the same user. Whenever an update of the planning was made he re - create the Essbase filter such as users could not run calc scripts or perform locking and send in Excel.

We had to use a script MaxL to replace the underscore (essbase) filter with the filter of planning and which meant that users can write to Essbase.

I may be the line of underscores and no line underscore filter the worng way round, it was a long time ago!

    Hope this helps

  • Bought an ipod on ebay. Locked and probably stolen.

Well, look, I bought 5 iPod on eBay for a reasonable price. Showed up at my door and it was locked, so I tried to figure out if there was a way to unlock, and it turns out that I have told me that I had to plug it into my computer to unlock it, but the message pops up saying that this people iPod was locked, and I had to type in the access code for synchronization. I researched more about it and figured out all the signs being stolen has pointed out, I tried to contact the seller and there is no return policy. Now I'm just trying to sell this thing, I'm so wrapped up in anger and frustration in the inept apples difficult to use devices. I'm afraid to try to sell this thing because I don't want to be arrested. What the * I do? I want my money.

If you want your money, you must deal with the seller. If they refuse, then open a case with eBay. If the device is locked activation, you must be the original owner to remove the lock or return it for a refund. Without this lock is removed, the device is useless to you. You can be too frustrated with Apple that you want, but Activation lock is a measure of protection against theft, and it cannot be bypassed. You must be frustrated by the person who sold you the unit.
