Monitoring of growth of database vCOPs

Suppose I have start my installation vCOps with standard disk of two virtual disks of 12 GB and 200 GB configuration.  What is the standard way of tracking when it fills up so I can plan add a virtual disc until it is full?  I need to plan a failure to add a virtual disk and have enough time for a change of control, etc.

    I played with them all, it's 6 of these, 6 of those. Nagios also has a plugin as well. All you need is something that will send/page when there is a problem. This is crucial.

  • Growth of database problem

    We have a problem with HFM by which the database increases each month.  We notice that
    most of the scenarios where we might have to do a force to translate or to consolidate
    with data and sometimes a consolidate all this.  I know that consolidate it all the
    is not good, but it is sometimes necessary for some scenarios.  I expect to
    growth of this with things based on dormant entities,
    etc, but not insofar as I see in the DB.  Doing some more
    investigation, it seems that we have a significant amount of zeros in these tables
    where we see growth.  For example, our scenario scheduled for 2014 has 7.4
    millions of documents of which 5.5 million
    are zeros (tran type 32) hard.  I have
    don't know much about these hard or derivative zeros, beyond because they do
    no result I think that actually enter zeros.  If I do an extract from the data
    of the whole of the year and the scenario, I get a few zeros but not anywhere nearby
    from what I can see in the database.  No one knows what might happen?  Help or direction would be so appreciated. Thank you.

    Hello

    Please check if you have accounts for the calculation of the zeros.

    You can limit the flight of zeros in your application by using the HFM rules file.

    Let me know if you need more information.

  • Growth of database by minune

    Hi experts,

    I just want to follow the growth of the database (tablespace/datafile) per minute.
    Is there any method/question to do?

    AWR collects information and I can use 'dba_hist_tbspc_space_usage' to follow the growth of the tablespace.
    But I would like to follow per minute.

    993705 wrote:

    The reason for this is to prevent the incident when the database develops abnormally.

    If you are worried about the occasion when "the database grows abnormally", write a script that checks the percentage of free space for all your storage space and warns you if the percentage of free space for any tablespace falls below a certain level. It's much better than having to follow the growth of minute by minute.

    Edit: Also, Oracle has built in Faculty of alerts especially designed for this purpose.

  • Growth of database for 6 months in the grid control

    Hello

    We have need of my team needs growth of the database for the last 6 months or every month for 6 months.

    I have not used before grid control. Can you please guide me how to set up to collect the necessary information.

    Thanks in advance.

    Target database size is indicated on the database Instance 'home' Page in the section "summary of the space. If you click on Size (GB) of data, you get a graph called the use of space based on historical data. In the upper area, you can set the 'time set' to be your 6 months.

    You can get this information from the sysman schema repository database´s as well.

    It is possible.

    Option 1:

  • Will be OEM 12 c monitor databases ODA?

    I use Enterprise Manager 12 c to monitor numerous databases. One of our groups recently bought and moved to a unit of Oracle database and would like to watch these databases through OEM. I found the Blog of device database Oracle and it says:

    "In addition, if you are using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control or control of Cloud Oracle Enterprise Manager in your organization, you can use it to manage the databases running on the Oracle database machine." A device to plug in Oracle database can also become available for Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control in the future. »

    I take that as meaning that I can monitor the databases on the ODA with my OEM Setup, is that correct? I'm intrigued by the statement that plugin ODA may be available in the future. What would be the addition of plug-in?

    Are there issues around the ODA with OEM 12 c of follow-up?

    Thank you.

    Bill Wagman

    Yes, you can now monitor the objectives of database and host ODA with the database plugin.

  • All monitors based on java out there?

    I have a monitor that queries a database using sqlplus command which belongs to the customer oracle installed on the server. The sqlplus command is encapsulated in a standard BB shell type monitor. It works fine, but my new servers do not have or need a client oracle in this way because they use type provided via WebSphere jdbc connections.

    In order to use JDBC to DB connector, I'll need to write the monitor directly as java, or have a java agent that updates a flat file that monitors the BB.

    I don't want a java agent if I can implement directly. Has anyone ever done this before and if so, willing to share a model of the java code base?

    I'll answer my own question here with what I was able to do.

    I found myself using groovy to do this and it works fine so far. Steps below;

    1 downloaded the package binary groovy and unpacked in my Big Brother PE file

    2. Add the ojdbc6.jar file in the lib subdirectory groovy directory

    3 created a groovy.env file in the directory ext of Big Brother (with additions GROOVY_HOME JAVA_HOME and PATH set)

    4. has created a simple groovy script that queried the database and output the results to standard output

    5. wrapped in a standard model of shell of Big Brother in the groovy script

    6. added the new monitor to bb-bbexttab

  • Formula to calculate the SGA for 12 c of OLTP database

    Dear Experts,

    What is the formula to calculate the SGA for an OLTP database application.

    This will surely depends on several variables such as

    (1) the maximum number of connections application would have

    (2) growth of database

    • users connected
    • Server connections
    • total number of connections
    • connection memory
    • OS/application memory

    Thanks John.

    Is below the formula makes no sense?

    Why thank me when you don't know what I said:

    You will not find a formula.

    You formula has nothing to do with the numbers suggested for EBS, which could (only "might") be a reasonable starting point. You have not given any indication of how you arrive at these figures. You just apply that 80% of the RAM formula suggested by Mr. Faruq? If so, you might want to ask him how he justifies the algorithm.

    One point, that you should study management PGA. Your formula assumes that all connected sessions required 30 MB of RAM, all the time. How can you come to this conclusion? On your development system, you can observe how PGA is necessary for the optimal performance of your queries. Then you can ask "how many sessions is actually running a query at the same time?", adds on the non-negotiable PGA by session and calculate the requirement on the PGA TOUR as a result. You should also think about what you call ""memory connection ' and what you call 'PGA Pool'. " These aren't words that I know.

  • How to configure Enterprise Manager Database Control (MCCD) to make it work on 2 servers (primary and standby) work according to the rules of the DG

    Hello everyone I use Oracle Database EE 11.2.0.4 with DG.

    In these cases, I need to get Enterprise Manager Database Control running against DB with no CARS and no DG I do the following:

    I have SQLPLUS logon as user SYS or SYSTEM and drop the account sysman and business objects:

    DECLARE

    CURSOR c1 IS

    SELECT master, synonym_name name

    OF dba_synonyms

    WHERE table_owner = "SYSMAN";

    BEGIN

    TO r1 c1 LOOP

    IF r1.owner = "PUBLIC" THEN

    RUN IMMEDIATELY "DROP PUBLIC SYNONYM ' |" R1. Name;

    ON THE OTHER

    RUN IMMEDIATELY "DROP SYNONYM ' |" R1. Owner: '. ' || R1. Name;

    END IF;

    END LOOP;

    END;

    /

    Mgmt_view DROP USER CASCADE;

    /

    DROP ROLE mgmt_user;

    /

    Sysman DROP USER CASCADE;

    /

    After that, I run

    EMCA - config dbcontrol db-rest recreate

    But what do I do in case I have 2 servers (primary and standby) work according to the rules of the DG?

    Hello

    It is not possible to monitor and administer a basic physical or logical standby, IE using Enterprise Manager Database Control Data Guard.  This is mainly due to the fact that Database Control is designed to monitor the 1-database and an environment Data Guard, by definition, includes more than 1 database.

    If you attempt to run emca against a database of pending, you will get an error like (i.e. ORA-01219: database is not open).

    Of course, database Control, can be used to monitor the current main database (with no capacity to administer or control Data Guard related features).  In such a case, failover Database Control needs to be reconfigured to run on the new primary database using the commands described in detail in Note 278100.1 how to remove, create and recreate DB Control In A Database, section c. recreate/ReConfig DB control, Option 2 10 g. recreate the control DB Configuration files and repository.

    Enterprise Manager Grid Control or Cloud control provides the functionality for display, monitor, and administer the primary and standby databases in a Data Guard configuration.

    Reference: It is Possible to configure the database for a logical or physical Standby Database command? (Doc ID 315116.1)

    You can effectively use EM 12 c cloud control to monitor and manager ensures DB

    Ref to the link for more details below

    Set up and manage to Oracle Data Guard with Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud control 12 c

    Kind regards
