Monitoring of the IIS Service Manager.

Hi, I have Foglight 5.5.8.2.  I know that I can control the IIS server with the windows agent but how can I follow the following.

Manager of IIS - application (DefaultAppPool, pmsnet, PMSNetInstal, pmsnettrain) Pools

The Internet - websites (default Web Site) services manager

If you want to monitor a web site, any web site, you can use the agent webmonitor. The web monitor is a part of the operating system control (old OS monitor) http://edocs.quest.com/foglight/565/doc/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/frameset.htm?href=Cartridge/OSCartridge/index.php there is also an article that mentionshttp://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/performance-monitoring/foglight-administrators/w/admins-wiki/5646.monitoring-application-availability-using-foglight-utility-agents

With respect to other measures of surveillance, if you can get this information with powershell or other type of script, you can send information to Foglight as agent script, as explained in the following article http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/performance-monitoring/foglight-administrators/w/admins-wiki/6155.custom-script-agent-1-leverage-an-existing-monitoring-script-to-push-data-into-foglight

I hope this helps.

  • Monitor the status of the IIS service

    Hi all

What is the best way to control a service IIS when its rebooted? Configure IIS in windows Agent?

    Please guide me

    Thank you

If you use the cartridge of the Infrastructure WindowsAgent, optionally monitor all or a set of selected Services.

To configure this, modify the properties of WindowsAgent. Clone the defaultServices Services of screen' list and add "World Wide Web Publishing Service" (the full name of the IIS service) to the cloned list, as shown in the following screenshot.

Allow a monitoring of this service and all the others want to follow.

Turn on possibly "restart if stopped.

Once you save these properties of the agent, the WindowsAgent will start collecting the State of these services, storing the data in /os/services.

Here is a table drag - déposer created by removing this list of services on a portal and configuring the columns:

  • Web service data control - how to use the data for the axis2 service manager

    Hello

    I have the following questions:
I consume a Web service using the web service based on axis2, MTOM data. The webservice response returns a complex response object.

    1. How can I link the (type axis2 DataHandler object) the response content to be stored in a column of data?
    2. in the response object, the name of the file is stored in a hash table structure, how can I retrieve the value of a specific key only? In an ideal world, it's a no-brainer, in ADF(newbie here) I do not know how to extract it?
    3. in addition, the display of collectibles for a response from webservice with a radio button beside each line?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Is the part of the information that you want to display available as a separate attribute in the results of the Web service in the data control panel?
If not, and you do a manipulation of the result to retrieve content, you can consider creating a Java proxy for the Web service, in that proxy to expose a method that gives you the news you need and then expose the proxy as a data control. Then, you can call the specific method to get the specific information in the format you need.

  • Customizations out-of-box Manager application to Service Manager

    All,

I wonder if someone is attacked in a way to port on customizations so ideally placed in the request handler for vCloud Director to the Service Manager product.  Essentially, I don't want to reinvent the wheel.  The customizations in the product manager application out of the box are a good starting point, IMO, for a Service Manager Director vCloud implementation.  In addition, and before anyone asks, we went with the product Service Manager Manager to ask for the extra features, such as modifiable workflows.

I asked my SE and it came with nothing.  I tried also to port on the changes myself, a screen and the setting at the time, and I got the results mixed, coupled with an acute loss of my hair and the patience.

    Help or direction is appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Your best option is to look into the VSM CP, a flavor of the Service Manager has been developed specifically around Cloud integration with vCloud Director and that includes some of the customizations apply to Manager.

You wondered about this product and if he doesn't come back with something, contact me.

    Thank you-

    Didier.

    Hello

    1. what version of Windows you are using (Windows XP, Vista, 7)?

    Follow the steps mentioned below:

    Method 1:

Step 1: Run in SafeMode networking

Safe mode, start Windows in a limited State, where only the essential is started. If a problem does reappear when you start in safe mode, you can eliminate the default settings and basic device drivers and services as causes possible

Start your computer in safe mode with networking

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Step 2: Perform the clean boot

A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts. The article below describes how to solve problems in Windows 7 by performing a clean boot. This article also describes how to start the Windows Installer service and how to reset the computer so that it starts as usual. To configure your computer to clean boot see the following link.

  • VShield service Manager installation and vShield app to the same host ESXi

Hello, I'm planning on vCloud Director assessment in a laboratory with only a single ESXi host.  When I try to install the app vShield service I get the following warning: do not install on a host or a cluster where the VC or the vShield Manager resides. This can cause network problems. The following IP address must be a unique IP address assigned to this unit of App vShield. Please do not use an IP address that is assigned to another machine, including the VC, vShield Manager or any ESX host. Using an incorrect IP address you will need to uninstall and reinstall App vShield on this host. My question is: is it is absolutely impossible to install vShield manager on the same host ESXi as the vShield Manager resides?  Or is it just a bad practice?  What are the ramifications of installing?

It is a general practice to separate management and resources. What you see is just a warning. When there are very fewer resources available you can do. Make sure that you exclude from the required VM by referring to this post
