Mono to stereo

I'm new on first and hearing and loving it even if I'm stuck. I'm doing a short film with narration. I shot the film and voice over was recorded on a separate voice recorder which is mono. I used the hearing to extract the soundtrack of clips that I had to use first. Now, I noticed that the sound has two tracks, L & R, but the sound is only on the left and the right is 'empty' how can I copy the left channel to the right, so it's the same sound in both?

Rich Zep says:

Now, I noticed that the sound has two tracks, L R &, but the sound is only on the left and the right is 'empty' how can I copy the left channel to the right, so it's the same sound in both?

I don't think that others read this quite correctly!

CTRL + A to select the entire track, then the effects > Amplitude and Compression > channel mixer and select 'fill right with the left' preset, apply, save the results, and you're done.

I must also stress that it is not "stereo" as such, just double mono, which is somewhat different...

  • Alternating the problem of Capture DV Mono or stereo

I'm captures old video tapes digital (not analog bands although it happened there also) in v.2015.4 Premier Pro. From a single band that I captured several segments. The video is very good, in all but one of the only audio capture happens on a single 16-bit stereo channel as it should, but in the first capture of the Ribbon comes on 4 different channels 16-bit - Mono 4. Channels 1 and 2 are probably L & R tracks although I see no difference in the waveforms. Chanel 3 and 4 are empty. The original recording is in stereo. It is a bit of a pain because two audio tracks need to be adjusted independently and not as a single setting performing simultaneously the two L & R. I can miss some audio information too. Is there a way to set capture and audio settings always comes as a simple stereo channels, I can't find.  Or?

    Help appreciated.

    Greg

It is a good alternative.  Thank you.

But I think that I thought about it. I got to thinking a little deeper and more logically. It is only the beginning of a capture of Ribbon and remains so through the balance of this particular shot, no matter how long. In addition, I realized it only happens when I start the initially absolute capture of the band, on the head or the Virgin band HDDR. When I moved the band on a spot just a few images in the recorded video real audio capture although stereo. As I think about it, it makes perfect sense.  There is a signature on the tape for audio, or mono or stereo, as the capture begins. The default value must be mono that it holds in all of the capture.

    Problem solved.

  • Mono to stereo on Premiere Pro CC 2014 Windows 8.0

Got cut several times with the India today.  Deadline for the approach.  Not informed (e) a sprout earlier and recorded in mono.  Read the tutorial.  He appears to have been written for CS6.  Got two titles each left and right in the source area, but still the track showed audio.  Moved to the timeline with an audio track, additional audio right okay but left audio, but it showed volume, does not seem to be in harmony with the correct track.  Help!  Don't know how it works so my email is [email protected]

    Thank you.

Thank you.  I found "sound effects" and found "Filler on the right with the left" and "Left Fill with the right", but a brackets that says there: "works only when recorded in stereo."  That's my problem, as a beginner, I recorded two stories on a single channel.  Now to charge for news TV Server, I need to have something on both channels and have not figured out how to do this.  I think the well-meaning responses, I'm getting the 'Community' come from users CS6 where apparently it was simple to do.  Under the new system of Adobe, you must use the 'cloud' so I use first Pro CC 2014 and some very simple solutions I read just don't seem to happen in 2014.

  • Do single mono channel stereo left channel?

I have a stereo audio clip in which only the left channel has been used. I'd like this spread to the left and right - mono, right? I saw a number of Audio effects in my copy of PPro CS6, but I don't see how. Probably very easy and I'm not going to hit my forehead... ?

Thanks in advance for any help on this.

On the effects tab, open Audio effects and you should see the left or right fill effects fill. It takes the left (or right) channel and puts it on the two outputs Earth R, ignoring the right channel in the file.

  • Premiere Pro CC: Of Keyframing Dual-mono (stereo) Audio

    Hi all

OK, well, the title of example I have of is from 1 to 2 stereo audio source, recorded and 1 voice is music.

In this case, my sequence is prepared as mono tracks and when this happens, I'll have 4 audio layers in sequence.

-time passed and changes are made-

and it's time to do the audio balance. When I add a keyframe, it only affects only one channel of the layer, not the two channels at the same time.

How do I change the preferences to keyframe so it will have an impact on the L & R channel on dual mono source (stereo)?

    Thank you

    -howie @ goasean. com-

How can I change the preferences to keyframe so it will have an impact on both L & R channels?

Place a stereo clip in a stereo track.

    Apart from that, you can't.

  • Mono (left channel only) stereo

Accidentally, I recorded a video on only the left channel.  It is to be exported by using two channels.  How to play on both channels.  In the Adobe tutorial, he said, "in the project Panel, select a single element.  Choose item > modify > Audio channels.  In the Edit Clip dialog box, select Mono in stereo mode, click OK.  In the dialog box change Clip I have it on Adobe Creative Pro Cloud CC 2014 shows:

    Audio channels

    Screening: What is set to?

Number of Audio tracks: what?  My video is only recorded on the left channel

Format of channels: Stereo; Mono; 5.1; Adaptive.   To accomplish what I need, should what setting I use?

Preserve channel assignments: check or not?

Active channels per track: what it is set to?

If your clip on the timeline is stereo, with audio only on the left (or to the left is the one you want to listen to), go to the Audio effects and add "fill left", who will be the left channel, put also on two L + R (and silencing all sounds which stood on the right lane).

  • How to convert a stereo audio chanel in mono?

    Hello

I have to work on a project of CS5 with stereo audio in the timeline panel (and it is too late to import it back the file and choose to split the mono 2 stereo). On chanel, left, I have no sound and on chanel R. If I put the command of IBC, on the left, how to assign right AND left in the master? How to convert a mono 2 stereo audio file in hearing?

    Thanks for your help,

    Olivier Madar

Use the left or right audio effects fill fill, depending on which channel contains the audio you want to duplicate. You can use these effects to the clip level, since the effects bin, or you can select and use them in the stack of effects in the mixer Audio Panel for a particular track. The video effects allow you to isolate individual items, of course, while track effects will affect the entire track.

  • Old stereo recordings

I don't remember what thread I was reading when I read a comment about old stereo recordings with a separation full of instruments and/or voices and how boring it is listening with headphones.  I agree it of annoying and is mainly due to the studios tinker autour with "new technologies".  Regardless, if you find it embarrassing so there is a program that can help you.  It is called Audacity and is free.  I was listed in PC magazines to 101 Freebies in 2007 & 2008.  I know it will allow you to convert the mp3 to mono and I think that you can copy only one channel and add it to the other which could produce a stereo type effect.  The program will do a lot of things.  The most common thing that I use is to shorten the length of a track.  Suppose that a track is 12 minutes, but you want a shorter version for some reason any.  You call the mp3 file, you find a good place to disappear from the track.  To highlight about 5 seconds or so, select gradually remove tools and it fades the volume.  You highlight the remaining part of the song, then select cut.  Now you have a shorter version of the track, you can export to an mp3 file.  It can do things like change the pitch, increase the volume.  One of my friends uses quite frequently in his video production.  Volume multiplier, I found useful on the recordings I did of conferences and other.

As I said, it's free and works very well.  When you install the program, it will ask you if you plan to export to MP3, and give you a codec blade.  It is the only weird thing for me about the program.  MP3 is the most common audio format and it would be by default when you save, but you will need to select export as MP3.

    Orion, and al. ;

Until the mid to late 1960s, nearly all popular music has been mixed for Mono. There was some exceptions in the "audiophile" RCA, Decca and other records. When these recordings were made for the stereo, there was almost zero effort put the tracks in the mixer. The result is painful to listen to.

Why do you prefer Mono to stereo? Well, because if you are interested in the music as it was intended to be heard by engineers, artists, it's what you listen to.

A recent example, take the Beatles albums "remastered". First of all, the stereo mix on the previous records has been redone using the master tape. The result is stereo more as we are accustomed to hearing - as a "Soundstage" audio mix from left to right. However, a 'limited' MONO recordings box collectors sold (at a HIGHER price to the same value in stereo) so fast that Apple/Capitol/EMI had to Flex and expand considerably the production. People paid more for mono, because that's how George Martin and the EMI engineers were confusing.

Try listening to the original tracks of Rubber Soul (most) of the Beatles with headphones (not bad on a stereo room). It almost hurts.  The original poster made a valid, though observation for a niche market.

  • 5.1 (pseudo) mix stereo audio HDV

I did a lot of research on this... and people in the forum still helped me to find a way to make my mixing 5.1 on a Blu - Ray disc.

But now I have a problem of mounting...

I used the Adobe tutorial on how to set up a 5.1 sequence... I install a new 5.1 master sequence and he said I want 6 5.1 channels.  I then copied the same audio track to each of the 6 channels in the project window.  If I use submix channels, I assume that you do not get the rear washer by the tutorial so I need 6 masters?  It is clear that you choose 5.1, but not so clear on if you import audio stereo, how master and mixing of tracks for the installation program.

I want to take my stereo mix and 'it' through the soundstage 5.1. I know that's not true 5.1, but I don't like.  I did it with any NLE and if the rear channels are low, it offers a nice mix.

I think Miss me some steps... I have to separate my audio captured HDV stereo mono or just leave it as stereo?

And despite everything, once I had my 6-channel and moved the washers autour, he didn't was out 5.1 to my PC speaker system.  It is an installation 5.1 with a Creative X - FI titanium sound card.  I get 5.1 when my other NLE editing.

I have read all the help files on the choice of my hardware audio audio betweem of WDM and ASIO creative.  However no choice gives me my rear speakers when editing audio.

I can read that I need to configure my output audio mapping... and I need 'Tileslide the channel of the sequence desired in compliance with the material in the list channel.'  However, I don't have speakers appears twice... and they appear on the left and right... Even though I have 6 audio channels in the sequence and a map 5.1 sound and the configuration speakers.

    The questions are:

    (1) what should I change to hear 5.1 audio when editing.

    (2) for what I'm trying to do, should I split my audio captured in mono channels or leave the stereo form.

    (3) how can I configure my 5.1 sequence in order to achieve my goal.

I apologize if this is something simple.  I did the reading and research and can not make it work...

I feel I'm close enough to be able to make the transition to the much more powerful tool.  The video part is quite simple.  However, I have questions on the audio portion.

If it's CS4 and a question of photo, I could probably answer!

    Thank you

OK, I am correct that you have one 2-channel (dual mono or stereo) Audio source stream?

I would create a project/sequence with a 5.1 master and two stereo Audio tracks. Place an instance of the element 2 channels on each of the two Audio tracks. Now, in the Audio Mixer Panel, locate the two Clips on the "sound stage" with the washers for each Audio track.

I would use the central channel on the first switch (Audio track 1) increase the supply of the center channel a bit, but leave the zero value in the Clip on 2 Audio tracks. I would like to add some of the Audio Track 1 power to the LFE input, but not too much.

Now add stereo Audio Effects > Reverb and Delay on the Clip audio track 2 and probably he alleviate a few dB down from the level 1 Audio track. Experiment with the settings on these two effects.

PrPro does not allow the pure creation of the LFE channel, but you can do it at the hearing, if you use 6 discrete channels sources in a multi-track Edit. I use it to create DTS streams, to be used as additional streams in yet.

This should help you good fake 5.1. Now, you should export this way SurCode DD 5.1 SS plugin. There is an entire article about the conduct of a "poor DD 5.1 SS", but I never tried, as I SurCode DD 5.1 SS plugin, as well as the SurCode DTS encoder. I'll get this older article.

    Good luck

  • Retiming does not not on surround sources

I have a problem using logic to reprogram cinema surround sources. I use Pitch' no time did a great job of Retiming of mono and stereo sources and working happily in ProTools, which we don't have.

But once a surround source is used in the logic and a speed control is composed, (such as-4% for the 25 > 24 fps Retiming) rebound resulting is the same in time to the source. This occurs using NTP and also one of the algorithms. Nothing works except mono tracks, which destroyed the Retiming of split engine block beautiful phase.

    Anyone else had this?

In fact, I'm wrong - or perhaps in law in a different way - it seems to be the choice of Surround sound in the bounce dialog box that fires it upward, regardless of the source.

I uninstalled IDT audio driver I went into Control Panel and uninstalled the IDT Audio driver.

Then I restarted my computer and I reinstalled the drivers of HP's Windows 8.1.

After restarting my computer again, I checked to see if everything was back to normal, but it is not yet sounded even.

When I right click on the "speaker" icon and then choose playback devices here is what was posted:
    The top unit is called:

    The central device is called:

    A temporary Solution:

After you have solved the problem by reading through countless messages try every difficulty that none of them I went into Control Panel and he took a glance at the the Dolby Advanced Audio Control Panel now I never tested with this before so far but I was able to fix the Audio questions here is exactly what I did :

When you use your built-in Laptop speakers or possibly other speakers:
Right-click on start (the white Windows icon located to the left of the bottom of your screen)
    Click on Control Panel
    Click on hardware and sound
    Click Dolby Advanced Audio
    Click on listening experience
    Check Dolby Advanced Audio

    I've tested on the following:
    Play music (sounded great)
Played a Youtube video (sounded great)
Played a video that I saved on my PC (sounded great)
Played a show or a movie on Netflix (sounded great)

When you use your headset from Turtle Beach Z11 or possibly other headphones:
Right-click on start (the white Windows icon located to the left of the bottom of your screen)
    Click on Control Panel
    Click on hardware and sound
    Click Dolby Advanced Audio
    Click on listening experience
Uncheck Dolby Advanced Audio now, your headset should ring loud instead of sound like Mono and stereo and crappy.

    I've tested on the following:
    Play music (sounded great)
Played a Youtube video (sounded great)
Played a video that I saved on my PC (sounded great)
Played a show or a movie on Netflix (sounded great)

You need to keep the box checked when you use your built-in Laptop speakers, otherwise they will sound like Mono and crappy.

So basically when you plug in your headphones uncheck the box.

So basically when you disconnect your headset check box.

If you have messed with the implementation in and want to return to the default value:
    Click Advanced settings
    Click on Reset

Note it's the LOCAL MACHINE, not the CURRENT USER.

Search for a key in the installation folder called DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade

Double click and change the value to 0

Now go back in the Panel of Synaptics, put all how you like and restart.

in any case if someone has problems with Windows 10 Post here and I'll see if I can help you but I recommend resetting your PC in recovery Menu so that most of the problems will be solved then I would install all my drivers from the manufacturer.

I am currently using window 8.1 1 driver from AMD and HP drivers.

This may not work for everyone, but if you have the same laptop and headphones I don't then it should work.

I posted this as well on Microsoft Community:

Since microsoft rolled out updates for windows 10 mainly the updated driver to update I had is no longer using the old methods such as the use of the old HP drivers to this windows 10 drivers working for my laptop then everything works fine.

I always use drivers from AMD for My APU (CPU and graphics card), but everything else is Microsoft I using Microsoft drivers for the month now and have had no problem.

I hope that everyone knows success with these drivers.
