More embedded platforms

I finished the MOOC and enjoyed learning Java ME 8.  I also enjoyed using my raspberry pi for this because I have several and use them for various things.  I understand that it is convenient to use the IP - R for this course.

But moving him run, I am interested in what other embedded platforms I can use it with.  The Pi is easily able to run other than full Java SE.  Older versions of Java ME supported things like ARM Cortex M3 and MIPS.  There will be something as it took in charge to Java ME 8?

Also, perhaps, it is a strange question but is there a way to port manually a java me JVM 8 to another platform by myself?

Hello!

Yes, the RPi is not quite right target for Java ME. It is supported for the most part because of its popularity. At the same time, it is expected to support Cortex-M3/4 devices. I can't make commitments, but it's be worked actively on. So stay tuned. MIPS architecture only is currently not supported by virtual machine (the dynamic compiler and byte-code interpreter) is not as simple as that.

Once upon a time Java me was available in open source (project phoneme). But that time has passed and now it is only possible to transfer yourself if you become licensed and that not free

Kind regards

  • System repair of Windows XP Embedded without the help of his CDs?

I use a CCTV using the Windows XP Embedded platform. Recently, due to some problems, I'm not able to boot the system and that's what suggests to repair windows using the CD because of the missing "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM" file I have lost my CD of Windows XP Embedded, but I have original Windows XP CD. Can I use the Windows XP CD and repair system?

For this error, always start with a chkdsk/r from the XP Recovery Console.

The question was preceded by a loss of power, aborted reboot or abnormal termination? (This includes the plug pulling, buttons power and removing the battery).

These can cause corruption in the file system that must be fixed before you do anything else.

If none of these events occurred (or even if they have not taken place), you must verify the integrity of your file system before anything else (especially "try" things).

There is zero logic to begin to try to begin to try to modify or copy files to a hard drive that has a corrupted file system, so this must first be fixed using the XP chkdsk program and run chkdsk on your hard drives may solve your problem completely.

Use the XP Recovery Console to check the file system on your HARD drive and fix the problems and then try to start your system - this may be all you need to do.  Or, you are welcome to just start trying things that might work.

Boot into the Recovery Console Windows using an XP bootable installation CD.

If you have no XP bootable media (or aren't sure you have) create a bootable XP Recovery CD of Console and don't forget (no support for XP not necessary).

This is not the same as recovery disks that might have come with the acquisition of the system store.

You can make a bootable Recovery Console CD by downloading an ISO file and burn it to a CD.

The ISO bootable image file you need to download is called:

    xp_rec_con. ISO

    Download the ISO from here:

    http://www.mediafire.com/?ueyyzfymmig

Use a new CD and this simple and free program to burn your ISO file and create your bootable CD:

    http://www.ImgBurn.com/

When you install ImgBurn, DO NOT install the Ask toolbar.

Here are some instructions for ImgBurn:

    http://Forum.ImgBurn.com/index.php?showtopic=61

It would be a good idea to test your bootable CD on a computer running.

You may need to adjust the computer BIOS settings to use the CD-ROM drive as the first device to boot instead of the hard drive.  These adjustments are made before Windows tries to load.  If you miss it, you will need to restart the system again.

When you start on the CD, follow the instructions:

Press any key to boot from CD...

    Installing Windows... going to pronounce.

Press 'R' to enter the Recovery Console.

Select the installation that you want to access (usually 1: C:\WINDOWS)

You may be asked to enter the password (usually empty).

You should be in the folder C:\WINDOWS.  It's the same as the

C:\Windows folder that you see in Solution Explorer.

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • JavaFX 8 embedded Mode

    Hi all!

I'm always looking using Java + 8 JavaFX for an integrated X 86 device. I found that there is a mode, described here (30 UI on embedded platforms (exit 8) controls), which includes a screen keyboard and a modified style (embdedded.css), which is suitable for integrated devices with a touch screen. Is it possible to activate this mode manually? I tried to connect a touchscreen to a windows 7 PC, but I don't you the integrated keyboard or GUI style incorporated.

    Best regards

    Stefan

With all the usual warnings about "unsupported features", you can use the following system properties:

com.sun.javafx.virtualKeyboard, which can be set to 'none', 'javafx', or 'native '. If the value is javafx, you get an emulation of a VK.

com Sun.JavaFX.Touch, which is "true" or "false". It is he who will cause the (misnamed) embedded.css stylesheet to use.

  • How can I publish a SWF with embedded video?

I would create a SWF that does not require any additional files (file video .mp4) alongside of it to play. How to make a video output completely encapsulated calls to external videos to SWF?

I use 6 Captivate and to my understanding up to now, this feature has, for some reason, been removed.

You are right.  Video files are more embedded Insider SWFs.

  • What is the fastest platform to run ColdFusion on

    Hello

I'm looking to use ColdFusion in a new project. I wonder what is the more robust platform (speed, stability, etc.). Windows, Mac, Unix?

    Thanks in advance,

    Mitch

    Hey, Mitch,

I'm not really sure, there is a "more robust" platform CF. objectively, I think that the big three all have advantages and disadvantages and the choice, in the end, comes down to an idea of your personal preferences. For me, I have developed in CF since end 2000 and have used all three platforms for development and Linux and Windows for the production.

Over the years, I moved to the Mac platform for development. Once again, for me, I find a Mac best suited. OS X has great memory management, which allows me to effectively run a variety of servers and one or two IDEs at the same time, something I had trouble with my PC days.

On the deployment plan, I prefer Linux for his precise control of the production environment, stability and overall performance. That said, I have never seen a big difference in the CF on Linux or Windows production environments with all of the other elements of the environment being more or less equal (same DBs, etc.). As long as you use CF, how could go wrong you?

Good luck with your new project!

    Best,

    Craig

  • ScrollPane - issue of transparent track

    Hello

I'm trying to get a minimal appearance in a ScrollPane on a project of mine.
To do this, I only want to show the thumb ScrollPane and nothing else.
One of the things I did to try to achieve this was to put the
bottom of the transparent tracks the problem is what is shown
instead of the track is the background of ScrollPane excluding its content.
The result is a space between the contents of scrollpane and its edges with the
    ScrollPane background between the two.

I guess the content of the pane scrolling is drawn only until the
ScrollPane track is reached, what needs to be done to get my problem fixed
is that they need to pull all the way until the edges of the pane scrolling.

I explain my problem clearly enough, or should I rewrite?

    Thanks in advance, best regards,.

    PS: I use javafx 2.1.
    I have already tried:
    {.track .scroll-bar
    visibility: hidden;
    }
    without success.

I had this work according to your sample image by taking a copy of the appearance of the ScrollBar control and format code hack is a bit.

    For example:
    1. take a copy of http://hg.openjdk.java.net/openjfx/2.2/master/rt/raw-file/36b72fb1d022/javafx-ui-controls/src/com/sun/javafx/scene/control/skin/ScrollPaneSkin.java in your project.
    2. comment on the 745-752 lines (which are those that take into account the size of the scroll bar when the size of the content window scrolls).
    3. compile and run the project (I fell from the command line so that I can manually specify the classpath, placing the project with the ScrollPaneSkin hacked before jfxrt.jar).

As an aside, looking through the code of the skin, it seems that the implementation of scrollpane for embedded platforms is very similar to what you want to achieve, but there is currently no way to do that is available for a desktop application because all embedded controls are in closed source code: you can create a jira requesting that the implementation of lightweight scrollbar for integrated could also be put to the available to office via a setting (perhaps more a styleclass scrollpane or something like that).

  • No chapters after compressor export?

    Hi people,

I'm editing old family 16mm film to a customer in a SD NTSC file.

The file is modified with several chapters (16 or almost) fully finished.

I exported a file of format prores FCX.  I'm doing this because I also give customers a larger file for self change later if they want.

I drop this file into compressor and choose for preset HD H264. Voila, files look great and its water use.

The only problem is that the chapter markers do not appear in the final .m4v file!   I see them in the window of the compressor after you import the file.

If I use the 720 p HD file, contains the resuling .mov chapter markers.

M4v files, I find, are more compatible with Windows computers and Mac - well, at least the customers don't need to install something more to see.

    I use a compressor on 10.10.5 4.2.2

Any idea or wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

    See you soon,.

    Brian

    Keebler says:

The only problem is that the chapter markers do not appear in the final .m4v file!

    Not sure I understand.

Do you mean that the markers do not translate to PC video applications? I can't duplicate what you describe on Mac.

And don't you think that the m4vs are more cross-platform easy as MP4s?

  • iCloud, sharing photos for Non - iOS users

So, I use iCloud for about two years now, and it does for the most part, what I want and need to. However, whenever my family and I go camping during the weekend, take a vacation or just to Barbecue a Sunday afternoon, we have a ton of photos on a large number of devices. For the wife and children, this isn't a problem since we have all of the iPhones and use iCloud. But, it seems that we are facing a problem whenever someone on an Android phone has a few pictures they want help or like to download some pictures that we have added.

Y at - it an easy way for non - iOS users view and/or edit albums shared iCloud without going through a several-step process (transfer of office, download third party app, etc..)? It is my understanding that an Android user should be able to display/change via a web browser, but don't seems to work. I looked at other cloud services and apps, and major issues, in that I continue to run are:

1: having to pay another Cloud Computing service, when I already pay for iCloud is not economic.

2: I find a lot of the photo-sharing applications and services give a lot of storage, but at a cost to the quality of the photos. My wife and her friends are always doing something creative with your impressions so even some 'high quality' compression can degrade enough make it unusable.

3: I have a hard time to ask someone to download an application, not to mention of asking them to pay for one. Nor am I comfortable someone jump through hoops, just so that I can watch through a batch of photos in the hope of finding one or two which are useful.

So, is there an easy way to do it, or I'm stuck or wait for Apple to understand a feature like this would be useful or leave iCloud for a solution amicably more cross-platform? I do not understand that Apple needs to focus on the development and support of applications and services for its ecosystem and customer, but would it not make sense to make it convenient for outside users to have a great experience too?

I don't know what problems you encountered but the sharing Web site works fine for me.

  • 6.1.6 Safari hangs on Google Maps

Safari 6.1.6/Mac OS 10.7.5/Mac Pro started today crashing to Google Maps. All other sites work fine. Tried the usual bugs (reset etc.) but no relief. If I go to a page like a hotel reservation where a Google map comes up to the side, not crash, but I get an alert to 'upgrade' to Google Chrome. Hmmm... Tried earlier, too intrusive. MapQuest, Bing and here work very well also.

In the journal of the accident, the first line mentions Javascript if that helps. If you disable Javascript, the page does not load and tells you just to turn it on.

    Someone else?

v10.7.5 Lion is just an outdated OS x Safari 6.1.6 is also that is why you have problems with Google Maps.

Recommended requirements for Chrome is Mavericks v10.9 > https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/3209990?hl=en

With v10.7 Lion being the minimum.

In order to have the best security available on your Mac, see if your Mac meets 10,11 El Capitan requirements here > upgrade to El Capitan

Which would upgrade your Mac to v10.11.4 and Safari 9.1, a more stable platform.

El Capitan is free and available for download on the App Store.

El Capitan requires 8.8 GB of storage space.

  • Clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit on Qosmio X 870

When I got my laptop (Qosmio x 870) I immediately uninstalled BONES because it was full of bloatware and installed a clean version of windows 7 ultimate 64-bit. After my installation I tried installing the drivers on my laptop, but some do not seem to work.

My VGA driver installed, but the windows experience index for my graphics is 5.5 which is much lower than it should be (if memory serves right it was 7.4 before I uninstalled the original O.S inflated). However, the biggest problem I encountered is the network driver. I installed all network drivers unique on the page of the Toshiba driver for the qosmio x 870, but none seems not to work. For some reason, the laptop thinks my wifi is disabled, I know that it is not (unless there is a setting in the bios that needs to be changed if not I don't know).

I really need some help here guys, if someone can me EXACT by the drivers I need this point would mean the world to me. Toshiba really should have a package of essential drivers, as most other computer companies have, it makes everything much easier for people who hate the bloated OS that comes with their laptop.

    > When I got my laptop (Qosmio x 870) I uninstalled immediately his BONES because it was full of > bloatware and installed a clean version of windows 7 ultimate 64-bit.
In my opinion this is the biggest mistake that anyone can do after the purchase of brand new computer. But you're not alone.
As a first step before doing this you create recovery discs, and I really hope that you ve done that.
Second, I can understand you if you say that the recovery image contains many pre-installed tips that you don t like, but you should not install version of the OS. No one force you to use all this stuff. You can remove all the system software and configure OS preinstalled on the way you like it.

And third, why you didn t post here and picked up some opinions until you started to install own OS? You might get some useful tips first.
You can install the version of the own BONE but installation of additional things must / should be made after the right installation order. Computers laptops Qosmio have more complicated platform/hardware features and drivers, tools and utilities must be installed on the right track if you want to have all the features.

Best thing you can do now is to reinstall the OS and continue to install all the extra stuff following the installation order posted by Lasko.

  • HP Pavilion 13-P100SS X 2: HP Pavilion 13-P100SS X 2 hardware update

Hello! I just have a small question on the HP Pavilion 13-P100SS X 2. The thing is I'm starting to use it to make music, and the DAW (music production software) needs a lot of resources, I'm afraid more than the product. So my question is: this compatible with some hardware first product updates? In particular, I want to add more RAM, at least an additional 4 GB (to make a total of 8 GB). I would also like to put a processor more, perhaps an i5 or i7, or is it only compatible with AMD processors? And a SSD?

In which case it is compatible with the hardware upgrades, please tell us on which specific components would work for this laptop.

    Thanks in advance!

An Intel processor is a non-starter. I couldn't find a service manual for the AMD models, but on models from Intel, memory is soldered to the motherboard that are the processors so I guess that it is the same for AMD versions. It is possible to remove and replace the hard drive with an SSD, but it is a very delicate piece of surgery.

You try to send a boy to do work a man here and you really need a more powerful platform. You will not be able to improve this machine to be competent with serious music production software.

If it's 'the Answer' please click on 'Accept as Solution' to help others find it.

  • Best OS for 2010 upgrade 2.4 core duo?

So I got my my mini 2010 since then and it has been relegated to a platform of film glorified since 2012 when I got a high-end MacBook.

I have now the need for a desktop computer handle some heavy windows based like HCSS and AutoCAD programs, but rather than spend $1,000 on a good windows based machine, I decided to upgrade my mini. I'll be it bumping 4 g to 16g of RAM and replace my drive dead optical with an OWC data Doubler and 2 TB hard drive. Once I got to the top and do work in that I'll migrate the HD existing more to the datadoubler drive in order to install an OWC Mercury Extreme Pro 6 G SSD as my main HD. I use boot camp and a play windows 7 copy but also have a copy of parallels 11. I am running Yosemite with boot camp on my MacBook for the same programs.

I'm running Mavericks on the mini and have no problem it contains at the moment, I can still go to Yosemite.

My question is which OS, including El Capitan, give me the faster and more stable platform on this configuration?

Did someone of another similar configurations running?

I found no later versions of the OSX (10: 9 - 10.11) make much difference in the slowness with adequate memory. If you do not want the new features in OS x versions later and apps yo want to run for only requires is not a superior OSX version, I see no reason to update

  • GigE vision on OR cRIO-9068

    Hello:

We are planning a project in which we intend to use embedded vision and transformation of vision GigE cameras. Our client is interested in the cRIO-9068 embedded platform.

The question is: is there support for GigE Vision on the cRIO-9068?

I can't find a document that says, so I guess that no public support is granted. If this is the case, I would like to know why.  I think that the VxWorks targets do not GigE support, but this cRIO running Linux. From the outside, I think it would be possible to provide a GigE for Linux support.  The only devices that seem to favor GigE run Phar Lap ETS.

Thanks in advance for your kind reply.

Just to answer he question, the 9068 does not support GigE Vision. Layer MAC Ethernet embedded on the chip of architecting it uses does not meet the requirements of GigE Vision (similar to the old cRIOs VxWorks/PPC).

The 9068 does support USB3 Vision cameras via its USB 2.0 port well and a lot of GigE Vision cameras have identical models in variants of the USB.

  • 2.7 GHz vs 6 GHz... Differences of EVM

    Guys HW RF NOR expensive,

    I have a 2.7 GHz DAMA, but also a 6 GHz DAMA...

I see a huge difference in my readings of EVM with the

even a Labview VI and had TO send a pre-defined package.

I'm decoding my frames in the 2.4 GHz band.

I get favorable results in the DAMA 2.7 GHz.

Can someone explain why is this huge difference in EVM

When I have not changed my Labview VI and transmission conditions HAD

    Kind regards

    Diakité

"Shouldn't EVM will be same without regard to differences in HW?

Not necessarily. Precision amplitude and phase noise impact on EVM and although I do not at this point these are the explanations, HW makes a big impact on the performance of EVM in general. Digitizer differentiates 5660 5661 probably won't make a big difference in performance and, indeed, you'll notice the EVM specs for 5660 and 5661 are the same.

"Andy, just in case you were worried about the signal saturation / clipping... '. »

I'm worried because of saturation. You generate a signal of 0 dBm in a parser which the maximum input level has been set to-10 dBm. How things change when you use the appropriate reference level of 0 dBm? You say that you capture a clean RF signal and I am curious to know how you determine this? Visually by looking at the spectrum? Distortion of the signal leads to amplitude errors and amplitude errors are one of the components of what measures of EVM. Do you see a difference between reference level of 0 and -10 dBm EVM?

Our EVM of QAM specifications are listed in the 5663 Plug and can be compared to 5660/5661 EVM specs. These data clearly show that the EVM platform 6.6 GHZ performance is better than the 2.7 GHz platform.

A difference between the 2.7 GHz platform and the platform of 6.6 GHz is the amount of "margin" between the baseline of the SMU-5663 and level of clipping of the instrument. A reference level of dBm-10 place the level of clipping/overload to 0 dBm on the platform of 2.7 GHz. The same reference level would put the level of clipping to dBm - 4 I think (I could be shifted by 1 or 2 dB but not much more) on platform 6 GHz. In all cases, it is smaller on the platform of 6 GHz since the 6 GHz platform has 1 dB attenuation resolution (as opposed to the resolution of 10 dB on the platform of 2.7 GHz) and requires not a greater margin amount. This could very well be your problem.

As a test, you must run the sample generator and Analyzer for the QPSK Modulation Toolkit and see what happens. Also, perhaps we can provide more help if you provide your code and capacity toreproduce behavior that you see. If we can reproduce it we can understand why you see the differences. At least I recommend using a correct value for the reference level.

    Kind regards
