Motherboard dead

I have an Inspiron 4150.  It was my daughters and she spilled little soda on keyboard and used compressed air to try to clean and dry off the coast.  I got it working again and it worked fine except for the sound card.  I got some type of worm in my hard drive and decided to reformat the hard drive.  The system wouldn't let me not recharge a Tacker system.  I think that my motherboard has finally bit the dust, and I now keep the laptop or sell it for parts.  I would like to keep but don't know how to find a motherboard works for a 4150.  All the usual sites online are rather confused and you can't tell if it has all the stuff (sound card, graphics etc) that has my old Board.  Any advice would be helpful.  Thank you

Chuck

I want to move my hard drive from a computer with a motherboard dead to a newer machine.  The activation process failed.  How can I get the operating system XP Professional sp3 reactive?  I have the code original and other info.

original title: Moving the death machine drive

    Hello CarrolScott,

The activation problem arose because the hardware on your current computer does not match that of the hardware on the machine whose mother is dead.

The best option for the reactivation is to use the telephone line. This, unfortunately, is automated and may refuse to turn on your system; However, don't despair just rest on the line after the automated atcivation crossed its procedure and you will be transferred to a real person. Tell this person you've done, and it should be able to help activate.

  • Satellite Pro L40 with a motherboard dead

    Hello

I have a L40 Pro of the Satellite with a dead motherboard.
I just got a second hand one out of ebay, who was supposed to work.

I connected the components of the etc., heat sink, processor, old wireless card.
When I turn it on the led and the processor fan runs but the screen is blank.
I have attached a monitor external, same thing.

So what I'm asking is, if the processor has been fried, what will happen or would it boot in the BIOS at least?
    I bought a dead motherboard?

    Hello

In my view it is difficult to say what is the reason. A friend of me also bought a second hand motherboard on eBay that didn't t work
But theoretically it could also be a problem with your CPU. Who knows?

I think that the best option would be in contact with an authorized service provider. Why? The guys were professional diagnostic tools to check your laptop. In addition you can get all the spare parts for your laptop.

Here is a list of them:

  • What is the best way to transfer a hard drive of a computer with a motherboard dead to a new system?

    Moving an Installation of Vista

    Hi guys (and girls).

I'm looking for the best way to transfer my computer drive "workaholic" into another machine... it's a Vista Home Premium x 86 OEM installation, but the motherboard has serious problems, so I'll pulling the reader (and its programs of many irreplaceable and owners) and transfer it into another machine. Yes, I know what are the rules regarding OEM licenses and I don't mean to skirt the rules, as I have a full VHPx86 commercial license collecting dust on the shelf that I was going to use, while I was looking for advice on the transfer:

Should I go through the process of installation/installation (and following key change) on the original machine and transfer, then the drive in the new machine?

Or can I move the disk to the new machine as that is, struggle with the driver updates and enter the new key when I reactivate the license?

    Thanks for any advice,

    JAM

I suggest to install the copy retail hard disk once it's in the new computer.  It is more complicated than simply changing the product key.  You can probably use an upgrade of the repair on-site and avoid having to reinstall your programs and data.  However, you should make a backup of the image first, just in case something goes wrong.  The other option is a clean installation of the new OS and Windows Easy Transfer to move your files and settings.  It would need to reinstall your programs.  Personally, I recommend the latter.  If you go this route there are external to the file migwiz drive since you will be formatting the drive.

  • Re: Tecra S5-15 q: drive HARD password and motherboard dead

    Hello

I have trouble BBBIIIG. A few days ago my s5 tecrca tells me "PCI Express error" and displays horizontal bands. Now, I can not do anythink with this computer (warranty void). Ok.

I have 2 computers one another and when I try use with Toshiba hard drive.
He tells me that the disc hard password is incorrect, but I use it for 3 years per day and never change!
Technical support in Poland is on the ground level. What is with this drive?

What can I do to use my password with MY HARD drive.

    Help, please.

(Sorry my English is not good)

    Tom

I searched the pages of Toshiba for some info about the HARD drive password and found this interesting document:
[What is A HARD DRIVE password? | http://APS2.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ9202JG0000R01.htm]

[Summary of TOSHIBA HARD drive password | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB6B01MC000CR01.htm]

According to the information contained in the two documents of the disk HARD unknown or forgotten password can be deleted.
If you are sure that you are using a correct 100% HARD drive password, then it might be possible that you have entered the password incorrectly. It's the only plausible explanation

  • Tecra A11-110 (PTSE1E) does not load

    Hi all

    Recently my laptop stopped charging.
The battery is new and worked for a while. It works on another laptop.

When I connect the charger, the laptop gets power, but it does not load. I guess it's always work around.
Is this a mistake in any sensor motherboard?

    How can I fix?

Is the motherboard 'dead' (for this purpose)?

    Thanks in advance.
    See you soon,.
    Hugo.

Have you noticed the problem of load using the old, original battery?
If the old battery may be charged correctly, I don't think that there is a problem with the laptop.

You said you have tested this new battery in a laptop.
Have you tried using another model Tecra A11?

    Your comments would be appreciated.

  • P7-1235

I'm working on my boss with Windows7 installed P7-1235.   The system does not light.  The power supply LED is lit and the CPU fan turns momentarily and then stops.  I tried two other feeds with the same result and placed the power supply HP in an other cumputer and it worked very well.  I get the same result with all the fittings and memory on the motherboard.  Almost sure the problem is not power, but the motherboard.

Of course there are programs and data that are using the same desirable high hard drive.  I met Windows7 use chip set information so that the replacement of the motherboard must have the same or very close chip.

My question: is the motherboard of MSI MS-7778 (exclusive HP) the motherboard DEAD or is there other motherboards that can be installed and still except for the already configured hard drive?

    Thanks for any help

    jrsherman,

All HP motherboards have a "tattoo" that will only allow the same motherboard to boot WIN7 licensed OEM.

So your answer is only a card mother MSI MS-7778 can be installed and always with the exception of the already configured hard drive.

  • Dell (All in One) Studio One 1909/19 power start mystery

A friend asked me to look at Studio One 1909 sister who does not illuminate.  She brought to Best Buy for repair and was told it was the motherboard and don't bother fixing.  When the computer is connected for the first time in the CD eject light doesn't light up for a short period and then goes out, no. fans no beeps... nothing.

I tried a few things to get started, unplugged power wedge, CMOS battery check button to delete all connections etc... but he seemed dead and I was coming to the same conclusion that the technician at best buy, maybe bad power supply or motherboard dead.

I called my friend and gave him the bad news and then he told me that he had the computer running after that he brought home from his sister's House.  He said all started and went very well and he left him when he went to sleep and when he woke up the next day it would not start no matter what he tried. He asked how the motherboard could be dead if he was running so well for 1 day.  I decided to give another glance to the computer.  I removed the power button checked, checked all the connections of power once more and did not find any obvious problems.  I plugged the computer while I had it put on the table, face down and left for a period of time before I went back to it.  I stood the computer up and to my astonishment started computer and everything went perfectly.  I was curious about what I touched to start.  My excitement lasted only until the next morning, when the computer will not turn on.  I came to the conclusion that the face of the computer down was the thing that allowed me to start the computer.

I worked with the computer for a few days and understood that he would in a kind of "Eve" from 1 to 02:00 and to restart I have let face down for about 1/2 hour before starting the system.  I tried different things every night, unplug overnight, leaving to run, stop and leave it plugged in, and the results were the same every morning, regardless of how I left the computer the night before, he would not be running.  Last night after I left the computer face down and this morning I put it up and it starts right now.

My theory is that some sort of pressure is put on the touchscreen sensors placing it face down and he wakes up the computer.  I tried many things before I discovered this trick.  I went to the CMOS settings, the first day I was able to start the computer and the only problem I noticed was that the date was wrong, so I fixed that and all reset the default settings.  I put the power options in windows to never go in mode "sleep" but I don't think that the operating system is in any way related to this problem as it would go in this hibernation even when unplugged.  I still think it's a motherboard problem, but do not know what could be the cause.

If the light on the adapter stops when it is connected to the machine, we look at a dead motherboard.

What is a good replacement that takes in charge a cd/dvd ide burner and sata hard drive for undeer £100. I have also 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM installed.

    Thank you

    Tony

Here are the specifications of your Compaq Presario SR1909UK desktop and it is card mother A8M2N-(NodusM). There is a conflict in the two specifications for what CPU socket is actually used. The computer specifications claim a socket 939 CPU, while the motherboard plug State she has a socket AM2. You will need to examine your system to confirm what type of CPU and socket he did.

It can be difficult to locate a market after motherboard that will meet your needs as AM2 socket 939 about 5 years to 8 years and are several obsolete generation. Check e - Bay or similar in your area for a replacement card which meets you the specifications. Please keep in mind is likely to replace the HP OEM Board on your computer Windows become a "non-genuine" and require the purchase of a new operating system. Note that the recovery discs you created will not be also usable on your computer.
