How to restore old favorites after having made a Firefox update?
I did a Refresh Firefox to get rid of Bing (it worked). The Mozilla site said she would keep important things, but all bookmarks are gone.
Sorry to hear about this. Here are two things to try:
(1) to restore a backup of the bookmark. The following article has steps to call the restore function. If the backup is not available in your current Firefox profile (settings) file, they should be listed by date:
Restore backup bookmarks or move them to another computer
(2) restoring a backup file bookmark old data of Firefox on your desktop. Refresh moves your previous settings to a folder of old data of Firefox on your desktop.
Do you see this folder? If so, please check inside a folder named semi-randomly and check the inside of a folder named bookmarkbackups. If you have, please use the article #1 above, but "Select a file" option to restore one of the backups in the folder on your desktop.
A little luck?

How to connect old router to router new
I have a dvd player internet which can connect only through a wired connection but my router (verizon wi - fi modem) is in another room.
I was wondering how I can connect my old router (e2000) wirelessly to another room? Would I have set up as an access point?blazex4 wrote:
I understand. I was wondering if the universal media without wire - ca connector will work also instead of using my old router?
In my view, a connector of ca wireless media would only connect to a router of AC. What you can do is to get a wireless bridge and put it up as a wireless adapter for your DVD player. The wireless bridge to connect wireless to your router and you can wire your DVD drive to the bridge. To do this, I recommend WES610N (Dual-Band N/entertainment deck with 4 switch ports) Linksys.

How I fand and move bookmarks to new computer
I made a copy of my old firefox contest on my computer that crashed due to a virus. I installed firefox on the new (both are XP). How do I find or move/copy my old favorites for the new firefox? Thank you. Do not know what file they are in.
Your personal information is in the profile folder. See: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles#How_to_find_your_profile
You also need this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_foldersWhen you copy data from your OLD profile to your NEW profile, copy individual FILES (some require more than 1 FILE). DO NOT copy the entire OLD PROFILE folder; It will not work.

I skipped a step. After you have copied the old favorites to the new Favorites folder, you can use the import of IE method to convert these favorites in Firefox Bookmarks. See: importing Internet Explorer Favorites.

My computer suffered a failure of hard drive two weeks ago. I've used Firefox for several years and had a well-organized set of bookmarks. These all have been saved by Carbonite. Now that I have my computer running again, I have reloaded Firefox on my computer, but do not want to go through the process of re - redo all my favorites. I got my backup via Carbonite and you want to use my old favorites. How can I do this?

How can I add old favorites from another computer to those that I have on my new computer?
My old computer crashed; and was replaced by a new one running Windows 7. I had saved my favorites, but could not find the thumb drive where they were rescued, started using Firefox on my new computer. Now I have the bookmarks saved on my new computer, but want to download and merge my old favorites. I only found a way to restore the Favorites who will complete wipe the nine. Short to write all new and adding their return after the older restoration, is there another way to merge the two?
Export your current Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file before you restore your old favorites.
http://support.Mozilla.com/en-us/KB/exporting+bookmarks+to+an+HTML+fileThe restore process will replace your current bookmarks; import the HTML file will add bookmarks to extensions.

How can you transfer favorites among users. My original user no longer works?
How can you transfer favorites among users. My original user no longer works?
I had to create another profile.Firefox made regular bookmark backups, so that you can restore the backup from your old profile to the new. Although, I suppose that the user is unable to connect, you always have access to its files.
First of all, make sure that Windows allows you to see the hidden files and folders. This article has the steps if necessary: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files
Then, down the old profile and copy out a few last backups to a more convenient location. You'll look here:
C:\Users\oldusername\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\semi-random-name\bookmarkbackups
File names include a data and County bookmark as well as random characters. I suggest you copy the last two at your new desktop or documents folder.
In Firefox, you can restore the backup file by following the steps in this article: restore bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer. Use the option "Choose file" to find backups in your office or documents, as appropriate.
Note: You could bookmark that something already in Firefox, but those that are not merged, they are replaced, so if they are essential, you can export your current bookmarks to HTML format, which can be imported from non-destructively after restoring. See:
- Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks
- Importing bookmarks from an HTML file
Success?

How can I sync my old computer with my new?
I have a new computer with the latest firefox browser. Also, my old computer has the latest firefox browser. and I need to synchronize the firefox browser to the latest browser from my old computer. I have implemented the process of synchronization on both old and new browsers. When I try to run the sync on both computers, nothing happens. I need the instructions step by step on how to get everything from old favorites, passwords, history, tabs, add ons, etc to the new computer.
Thanks, Jennheather
- Sync does not transfer the computer to another.
- A synchronization server is where are stored the data synchronization - this is the "hub". Data flow 'to' and 'from' the synchronization server.
- Best to have the old computer synced to the synchronization server first and then login / connect the new computer for synchronization, at least a few hours later if you have a newly created sync account or have a lot of data stored in Firefox. Thousands of bookmarks.
- At this time it is better not to have a mobile device using Firefox for Android connected to Sync then 'add a new device' to an existing synchronization account.
May be easier to simply transfer your profile from the old computer to the new computer via a USB Flash key with the help of Sync, especially if you are new to using Sync.
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile
IMO, as long as you do not leave a real old operating system to a real new (such as going from WinXP to 8.1 of Windows or Windows 10) it should be safe to copy all the content of the profile folder and replace existing files that are in the profile that is already on the new computer. -
After using Sync to synchronize modules for my two laptops, preferences, BOOKMARKS, etc., I have little empty square next to all my favorites in the new PC, but none of the logos that appear beside bookmarks on my old PC. The old one (which I still sometimes use) running Windows 7 and the new; Windows 8.1., just in case this information should be listed here.
How can I get the corresponding logos to appear next to the bookmarks on the new PC, instead of just empty squares?
You see the FavIcon Reloader extension on the topic: page addons?
- Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions
You can find "Reload-icons of Favorites" in the bookmarks menu.
