Mouse pointer jumps around on Windows 7 VM

How to make it behave?
I have a Windows 7 VM with VMware tools installed.

These preferences are set:

  • Take the keyboard and mouse input on the click of the mouse.
  • Automatically capture and ungrab the mouse.
  • Hide the cursor to ungrab.
  • Optimize the mouse for games: never

Often, the mouse pointer passes to a new spot when I click it.  For example, without exit fullscreen VM, I click on the center of the screen one pointer jump upward or sometimes low.  Click once again, the same thing.  I tried to uncheck Hide toolbar without result.

In addition, the virtual machine is maximized on my second monitor, if I move outside it to my main monitor mouse may not work.  In other words, if I click on an object, say Outlook, nothing happens.  It is as if the mouse is not there; the click does not happen.

This does not happen with my XP VM.  On the virtual Windows 7 machine, Windows is not activated yet.

I gave up and created new WMs.  They work very well.

Remove the old VMs of misconduct.

    Hello @Blackcow2 ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that the cursor is jumping all over your ENVY TouchSmart m6-k015dx Sleekbook.

If this problem just started, I'd say a system restore to before the show began. This will cancel the changes to the system, uninstall the Windows updates and uninstall any software recently installed after the date of restoration. Example: If you have installed AVG anti-virus on 12 September, do a restore before allowing you to uninstall the software. A restore for the 13th does not remove the software. The system restore does not delete your personal files.

  • Screen goes black and only the mouse pointer visible to the windows xp screen

My computer has used to work without problems.  Now, when I start it upward, to the Windows XP start screen, the screen turns off and all that is visible is the mouse pointer.  I tried to start safe mode, and it does give me even the option - not even if I press F8 at startup upward.  What is the problem with my computer and what can do?

Thanks for your answers, Dena and Jojih.

The screen went black and all I could see was the mouse pointer.  There is no ameioration or changes on the hardware of all kinds.  I wonder if one of my employees has a virus on the computer.  I could not do in safe mode, even if I tried to press F8.  If I put in the Windows XP CD, the screen would go black after that he loaded the system files, just like at the start of Windows XP.  So I used Acronis PC Backup and Recovery and make a recovery disc and used to reformat the hard drive and then I reinstalled Windows XP.  Everything has been great to work for.

  • Laptop HP Pavilion G6: mouse pointer delay after upgrade Windows 10

I installed Windows 7 to Windows 10. So far, the only glitch is with the mouse. After that I typed, the arrow of the mouse does not move during 3 seconds. I have:

Looked to reinstall the driver. He said that it is up-to-date.

Properties of the mouse adjusted to zero delay (from average delay) on pointer after typing.

Both of the above should have potentially fixed, but as it won't let me update the driver, there is little I can do on this charge. Also, I rebooted it after the latter. It made no difference.

Another person had the same problem AND fixed it? VAC

    Hello

    • What were the changes made before the issue occur?
    • How long have you been faced with this problem?
    • What is the brand and model of the computer?

If you are using a desktop computer, I would try connecting another mouse and check. Try also the update chipset driver from the maufacturer website.

If you are using a laptop, I suggest you to update the drivers from the website of the manufacturer of the chipset and Touchpad drivers also and check if it works.

Its down to the sensitivity of the touchpad on the laptop. You could try to turn that down.

    Hello

To use the control of Toshiba and the FN keys buttons, you need to install the VAP (value added package) and the Flash Cards Support utility!
These two tools are important if you running Vista or Win 7.

You can also configure the touchpad again after installing the driver Synaptics and Alps.

Please note that you can configure the touchpad in Control Panel-> mouse->-> properties pointing device.

You will find a few options regarding the sensitivity of the touchpad!
