Hello

  • What were the changes made before the issue occur?
  • How long have you been faced with this problem?
  • What is the brand and model of the computer?

If you are using a desktop computer, I would try connecting another mouse and check. Try also the update chipset driver from the maufacturer website.

If you are using a laptop, I suggest you to update the drivers from the website of the manufacturer of the chipset and Touchpad drivers also and check if it works.

We are an OEM that systems of electronic Assembly is based, in our machine is a PC running Windows XP Professional that provides the interface for the operator. Some of our systems have begun to crash intermittently when stopping.  Up to now we have seen it on three machines.  There has been no change to hardware or drivers that we put on these machines.

The PC is supposed to stop at the point were he said "It is now turn off your computer", but it hangs when the only thing on the screen is the default windows background and the mouse pointer. The mouse moves, but that's all. He is unresponsive to ctrl-alt-delete, or any other entry.

This was reported 5 times, and in any case there's nothing in any log file which would tend to indicate where the problem is maybe.

I guess we have a bad driver or device, but the problem only happens once all stops of 5-10, and only after the machine is turned on for a while.

I just turned on the detailed status messages, but they did not stop the machine since.

What I asked is: is it possible to get windows to connect to all events stop? I really want to know what he was doing when he stopped.  Can someone else think something I can look at, or a better way to debug this?

If it IS, delete it & uninstall the sw provided with touch screen

    Try a stop

Happening all the time, just enough to make it boring. The computer is only a little over a year old so I think that some of the software is corrupted. • the mouse pointer and cursor of dysfunction, cannot type, cannot connect to my user account?

OK, I'm not sure how succinctly describe the problem since it is composed of so many things that have actually made my computer useless. I think it's a virus, but my virus scan did not come with something useful, so.

Last night I watch Youtube videos and edit some pictures when I noticed that I had to type on the touch pad repeatedly until the computer responded. Then it stopped working completely (IE I could still move the mouse pointer, but couldn't click using the touch pad). I switched from windows to look for a solution on the internet, but when I clicked on the address bar of Google Chrome the cursor started ahead of his own, as someone has pressed the space bar - but I was not. This makes type impossible because there were huge gaps between each letter. I turned the computer off and back on (thanks, ICT courses), but the problem has not disappeared - only now, the mouse pointer disappeared sometimes still. It was getting late so I turned it off again and fell asleep.

This morning as I began it upward there was noises Eman that makes it usually when I plug / unplug power. I tried to type in my password... and couldn't. The capslock wasn't on, I of course did not forget the password from one day to the next, but I kept receiving error messages and could not open a session. Even worse, when I tried to switch to an account that was not protected by Word, he kept jumping to the mine after maybe 3 seconds. I finally managed to click the icon of the second account and logged.

The touchpad still don't click, when I open Chrome and clicked on the address bar he reacted as I clicked with the button right referring (so I couldn't type) and the mouse pointer always disappears randomly. I did a Norton quick scan and it came with 22 'risks' that he apparently 'fixed', but the problem has not yet disappeared. I would be v. grateful for a quick response, as the laptop is actually not mine, but my father (who keeps valuable most of his photographs on the hard drive).

EDIT: I opened it in Mode without failure. the touchpad works now, but randomly on the keyboard keys have stopped working. Others come with a random combinations when I press on them, for example. "you" instead of "t", "p"] - when I press on «-» I can't even reinstall the keyboard drivers, because I can't type in my admin password.

Also I do not know what topic to put this in so if it's wrong, please let me know!

  • The mouse pointer turns into a pointer to 'move' for no reason

I have been using a new laptop for a few months now.  All of a sudden the mouse began to change at random from the standard windows arrow pointer, a pointer to 'move' - this is a pointer with 4 arrows pointing outward.

The change seems to occur in any specific situation.  Sometimes the pointer turns back on its own, but usually I have to go into the control panel and accept the default settings of the mouse again to retrieve the pointer of the mouse to normal.  The change to the pointer 'move' is not in the Control Panel mouse - settings settings don't never change.

    I tried the following things:
-change my settings of the mouse pointer to the user the dinosaur mouse pointer scheme, but the same problem occurs
-Uninstall mouse drivers and let the PC to reinstall the driver automatically at startup

I use a USB mouse.  When I use the laptop without the USB mouse, the problem actually gets worse.  In this case, the mouse pointer changes, and the mouse pointer freezes.  My main concern is the modification of the pointer, not the gel.

Anyone seen this before?  In addition, no one knows how to fix this problem?

    Thank you.

I ended up having my motherboard replaced on my laptop keyboard and Mouse touchpad.  Then only the problem was solved.

  • The mouse pointer passed, touchpad and l + r buttons does not.

Hi, I had my laptop HP Pavilion for nearly two weeks and only today, I blocked my phone and I noticed that my L + R and the touchpad buttons are not working and my mouse pointer had completely disappeared.

Can someone help me by telling me how to fix this? I would be very grateful.

    Thank you.

    Hello, @cf159

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

It seems that, after the blocking of your laptop, you have lost the function of the touchpad. I will try to help you with this.

Have you tried to restart the laptop yet? Try this first.

If this does not work, turn off the computer, unplug the power adapter (if connected) and remove the battery. Press and hold the power for 30 seconds. Connect the dough or power adapter, turn on the laptop and the test.

If the problem is still present, you can try to do a restore on the laptop.

If it still does not, then try to update the drivers. You can do so here: drivers & downloads.

I'll let you start with that. If you need other assistance please provide the model number and product for your laptop and the currently installed operating system.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • System Restore with the keyboard and the mouse works do not and do not know admin password

I recently decided to update my drivers on my 9 year old bridge. Apparently the program that I used to do didn't realize a bad driver when he sees... Sort of my keyboard and mouse not responding while windows was loaded. They work enough for me to access the bios, enter the menu start and also when I hit enter to boot from a windows cd.
I'm trying to access my restore points to get rid of the driver that has been installed. Unfortunately when I put the windows CD and try the repair option I can't log on to the volume because it requires an administrator password. I tried Admin admin admin admin and leave blank. I even ran a program to reset passwords (I do not use any which way.) still cannot log on to the volume. I also tried to pass in front of the screen to repair and installation of windows to fix this. I can hit escape and pgup and pgdown but not f8 to agree to the agreement.
When I boot in safe mode with command prompt that it still forces me to click on an account to connect. Which I can't because the keyboard and the mouse do not work when windows is loaded.
I can't get to the command prompt to display the box to help restore points?

  • Screen goes black and only the mouse pointer visible to the windows xp screen

My computer has used to work without problems.  Now, when I start it upward, to the Windows XP start screen, the screen turns off and all that is visible is the mouse pointer.  I tried to start safe mode, and it does give me even the option - not even if I press F8 at startup upward.  What is the problem with my computer and what can do?

Thanks for your answers, Dena and Jojih.

The screen went black and all I could see was the mouse pointer.  There is no ameioration or changes on the hardware of all kinds.  I wonder if one of my employees has a virus on the computer.  I could not do in safe mode, even if I tried to press F8.  If I put in the Windows XP CD, the screen would go black after that he loaded the system files, just like at the start of Windows XP.  So I used Acronis PC Backup and Recovery and make a recovery disc and used to reformat the hard drive and then I reinstalled Windows XP.  Everything has been great to work for.

  • installed a keyboard and wireless mouse and the mouse works fine, but the keyboard types the wrong keys! Any ideas? Thank you

installed a keyboard and wireless mouse and the mouse works fine, but the keyboard types the wrong keys! Any ideas? Thank you

Wired or wireless - is usually not serious unless the wireless can get more interference.  If the keyboard is close to the receiver which is connected to the computer and you get the strikes hurt - my suggestion is to try first the keyboard on another computer.

To do this, * not * require you to install specific drivers.  Simply unplug the combo of a computer and in the other and see if the keyboard works correctly.  Then, you can troubleshoot from there.

    System: HP 3135 Pro

    Mouse Logitech RX250

This problem started on October 16:

After the automatic updates of Windows, the keyboard and mouse locked. Only to start in secure mode and come back with the widows, restore the system to a previous point, it is possible to activate the keyboard and the mouse again.

Now, I turn off the automatic updates, to avoid the system freezes again.

The Microsoft forum is not clear about this error, would be something regarding the HP computer?

    Any help is welcome.

    Hello

There were some problems with the last batch of reviews/recommended Windows updates this month this.

Among the updates disabled device USB 2.0 from a USB vendor specific drivers. I found a web reference that can explain what has happened to you. I think that the update has been removed from Windows Update. This article may shed some light on your problem.

You can install each update manually until you find the cause of your problem. Unfortunately, when you find it you will have to restore the system again and avoid this update. Or Microsoft could have pulled the offending update.

Is it only a matter of HP? Impossible to comment on.

I've updated HP four systems, a Dell laptop and a system tailor-made without any problem.

You really don't want to permanently disable future updates of Windows.
