  You can try something like the AppleScript script which is a simple shell script wrapper.

  Briefly tested under OS X 10.6.8 but no guarantee of any kind. Please make sure that you have a full backup of the original files and directories before you run this kind of script.

• I can not move the files to a folder in windows XP, only to copy them, and I get the windows error. This happens on any file or folder.

  I use XP Pro SP 3 and I'm having a problem with moving the files from one folder to another, no matter where the folder or files. If I try to move a file, it crashes and it cannot be opened or used. If I move a folder, then crashes all the contents of the folder, and I can't even open the folder, it tells me access is denied, this nothing else. If I try to delete the file, then I get a prompt to error telling me that the file or folder is not accessible, and that access is denied and "make sure that the disk is not full or write protected." If I try to move the files corrupt in another folder, this time I get the message "Unable to move or replace" the file in question and "make sure that the disk is not full or write protected." If it is a document as a text file, then I can open the file and there is a prompt indicating that access is denied. I can then use the text document and save something, but if I close the document and then try to reopen it, all the changes are lost.
  It is not this problem if I move the files to an external device or disk drive.
  I am running as an administrator.
  Right now, if I need to move a file, I copy it to its destination, which is possible and then delete the original file. With the help of a release program was the only way I could delete these files, which could no longer be used.

  Step 1:

  You can try the following steps and check if it helps.

  You can try to drag a file it and check if it appears in the Recycle Bin

  a. right click on the Recycle Bin and select Properties.

  b. disable the option "do not move files to the Recycle Bin. Delete file immediately when it is deleted. "and check.

  Make a bunch of audio files, placed in a folder on my desktop. Files initially sent to RealPlayer to burn, but when finished burning CD and went to read a CD, folder got seized by Media Player, 'Indexed' and disappeared from the office. I'm a relatively new computer user, and I need to learn more about file paths, how to view the path FULL of a file on my computer and how to type (create) full path when I need to. There is no tab location here. I found locations tab when right click on the "Mobile" folder, but still no option to "move file". No idea what is the folder "Roaming" or why it's on my computer. I want my audio files in the My Music folder, but this place is "access denied." Don't know how to get the audio file it in any case, but if anyone has any advice, I would be very happy! Thank you. PS - I had no problem moving folders in XP. I don't like the idea that a computer is to decide where to put my files. I want to control where I put my files. I don't like the way search works under Vista.   Even logged on as administrator, you have not all privileges unless you raise them. This is done to prevent malware to take control of your computer when logged in as an administrator.

• Move the files, folders, and applications when you use several desktop computers

  I have configured my MacBook Pro to display several different offices, based on several types of work that I do. I'm having two problems: (1) get the apps in the dock to show only in the dock on specific and (2) workstations, get the files and folders to broadcast only on one specific office.

  Re: (1), I followed the instructions from Apple I found online, but all applications in the dock show in the dock on each other in all cases.

  Re: (2), I don't see a menu or option to specify desktop computers. They're showing on all my workstations, which isn't what I want.

  The Dock is the same, no matter what you are in office. It cannot be configured to display only the items to come on a computer desktop and other articles on others. It is similarly of the icons. An icon that you put on a desktop will appear in all work positions.

  Now you pouvez specify certain applications appear in specific jobs and this applies to the Finder as well so you can have icons of documents and folders appear on a single desktop computer. Other workstations will all show no icons. If you choose this option, you can then open a window to a folder on the desktop that has the Finder, and then move it to another office.

  Before Apple, desktops implemented, there are several utilities which enabled us to operate more as you want, but unfortunately, they are now gone.

  • Connect you as an administrator?

  You can refer to the following steps:

  1. Log the computer with an account that has administrative credentials. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, you must start the computer in safe mode, and then log on with an account that has administrative rights to access the Security tab.
  2. If you use Windows XP Professional, you must turn off Simple file sharing.
  3. Right click on the file/folder that you want to take control and then click Properties.
  4. Click on the Security tab, and then click OK in the security message (if one appears).
  5. Click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.
  6. In the name list, click your user name, click administrator if you are logged in as administrator, or click the Administrators group. If you want to take ownership of the contents of this folder, select the check box replace the owner of subcontainers and objects .
  7. Click OKand then click Yes when you receive the following message is displayed:
     You are not allowed to read the contents of directory folder_name. Do you want to replace the the directory permissions with permissions granting you full control?
     All permissions will be replaced if you press Yes.
  8. Click OK, and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and its contents.

• "Impossible to copy the requested resource is already in use" error message when you try to move the file to the thumb drive.

  I'm going to try really hard to do this makes sense, but I don't know much about computers.  Bear with me.

  Brother gave me a computer.  A graphics Nvidia GeForce 9800 inside.  Because it restored the system settings, the drivers are missing.  Can not connect this computer to the internet.

  So, I went to the nvidia site and downloaded the necessary drivers on my OTHER computer, which is what I'm now on the right.  The download ends, and when I try to move the (drivers) file in the USB, I get this delicious "cannot copy xxxx that the requested resource is already in use".  It is not in use.  I can't even use it on this computer as its pilots for a graphics card that is not yet part of this computer.

  What should I do to make sure I put the file with the drivers on a USB key, on the port to the other computer.

  (by the way, this also occurs with a few random mp3s of the mine.  10 of the 12 tracks on a CD, for example, does copy on the USB no problem, but then two of them to come up with the error message, for no apparent reason.  Don't know if it's relevant)

  Try another USB key. That one is may be damaged or failing. In the meantime, to burn the drivers on a CD - R disc (not CD - RW) to take the target machine. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!
