• Move a layer from one document to another, I get the error message that the layer is empty

  When I copy a layer from one document to another in PS CC 2015.5 and then try to move the layer in the destination document, I get the error message that the layer is empty.  It is not empty and I checked several times and checked that the layer is not empty.  I have never had this problem before and wonder if something has changed in CC 2015.5.

  Thanks to all who responded.  I think the problem was that I was using the NEF files and that he had not yet renamed PSD files.  Copy the layer in the destination document, but when I tried to move the layer in the destination document, I received the error message.  Apparently, he was copying the layer but there not then recognize the NEF format.  Once I saved both documents to the PSD, then the program behaved normally.  I appreciate your all of the help.

  Hello buddies.

  I'm digging the new interface and all that. the air is smooth. No matter what.

  have the following two problems... ask yourself if I am failed to adjust some new settings or something...

  (1) recent files: recent sentence. is not up-to-date. does not display the files last I opened or saved. what it shows is a bit random, really.

  (2) you know that medium to access the move tool marquee tool + cmd? Well now it selects automatically the top layer of most. I tried to find a way to make this wide, but do it in the real move tool options has no effect on this. What can I do? It comes as the tool #1 alt I use! He kills me. I really want to Karate chop my computer! :-D

  These two issues are bugs which are followed by engineering. We are working on their fixed.

• Tool move moves wrong layer...

  Something has changed. I always stick a picture on a layer and select the layer and use the tool move to move around until it is placed where I want. Now I paste the image, select the layer, choose the move tool and the selection of the layer jumps to another layer, and it gets moved.

  Anyone else having this problem (CS5)?

  Take a look in the top tool bar for a checkbox. If it comes to activate you can select a layer by clicking on the canvas, if it is not checked, then you need to select the layer in the layers panel or use the change button to select on the canvas.

  I used the CC since its creation, and I've never had this problem until the last update.  I use the latest version of PS CC. 15.1.2

  

  The hand tool, down at the bottom of the toolbar in the left-wing movements, the entire document in the document window PS by default only if the image is enlarged bigger than the window.  You can do the same thing with the scroll bars if they exist.  As gener7 said below, you can turn on Prefs / tools / module to activate your document beyond the edges of the Pan drag PS document window.

  The move tool, the four arrows icon, near the top of the toolbar, move the layers selected in the document canvas that does not have transparency if there is no content of the layer below.  It still works as it always has, I think.  You can lock a layer so it won't drag with the move tool.  You can select all layers to move as a whole.

  Perhaps the hand tool does not work how you're used to work by being able to drag the document outside the document window, you think the move tool is somehow the hand tool.

• Unable to get the move tool to place a photo at the top of the page another

  I am aware that I'm really a newbie to Photoshop (but methodically working my way through Kelby Photoshop 6 for photographers tackle this CS), and I also know that I am a fool at the same time. However, it is time to put my hand up and admit that even the simplest of tasks is beyond me.

  Use the CC version, I have two pictures open in a document. Actually I'm following one of the lessons of Kelbys of Chapter 9. The two images have the same group of three folk poses, same etc, the only difference is that one picture, the guy is looking for the camera in the other, he seeks right to it. The lesson is to place the other photo on top and using a brush and a layer mask to reveal the image where he looks at the camera.

  Seriously, I have tried for 3 days to use the move tool (V) click and drag one photo to the other, but it won't happen just for me. I also tried with my own images, still no difference. This work will be if I use Select-Select All, then copy and paste a picture on top of another, so all was not lost and I can finish the lesson, but my inability to get the move tool to drag and drop gives me major pain.

  I'll be very grateful if anyone can put me out of my misery - like I said I can be a good fool sometimes. A virtual beer to the person who can help you!

  OK, I assume here that you have opened both images that everyone is in its own document. By clicking on the tabs on the top screen between the two documents and the two images switches have only a single locked background layer.

  You are right in saying: select all, copy, and then paste. It's a way.

  However with the active object (lowercase v on the keyboard) tool, you can place the cursor on the image, hold down the mouse button and drag this image into another tab. While the cursor is on that tab (you're still now on the button of the mouse) documents will pass. At this point, you can now drag toward the center of the document and finally let go of the mouse button.

  If this isn't the case, please post a screenshot of your screen so that we can see how you have photoshop set up. As can the tabs are not visible for example.

• CS4: Cannot move a layer in a together group layer.

  I created a group of layers in Photoshop CS4. When I select a specific layer within this group to try to move it, I immediately get moved to the folder and the entire group moves - in other words, I can't move that only the specific layer (I have to bring him outside the group to move).   You have your Move tool set incorrecty

  uitkuijk In your Options bar (at the top of the interface) uncheck the box 'Automatic Selection '. It is more likey causing the behavior you describe.

• Photoshop CS4 crashes when you use shift and the move tool

  Help, please!

  Whenever I click on a layer with the tool move while holding the shift key (so I can limit the movement), photoshop crashes.  I get a message that says: "could not use the tool to travel because of a program error." And then photoshop just stop.

  Now I can use the move tool without holding SHIFT, but as soon as I hit the shift button and tried together... crash!

  What is going on?

  I was wondering if it has something to do with an updated video driver I installed yesterday.  He was not doing this before that.

  Have you tried to roll back the driver to see if the fault disappears?

  You must physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if you use the Alt, Ctrl, and shift, don't forget you get a confirmation dialog box.

  This resets all settings in Photoshop default.

  (A complete uninstall/reinstall will not affect preferences and a corrupted file may be the cause of the problem.)

  I have tried repeatedly to record a movie in Live Moviemaker.  Last night I tried to save the movie using "recommend the parameter" error 0 x 87160129 appeared.  The location of the source has not been moved or renamed.  When I checked through the 23 images were affected, with different error codes - 0xC946001E, 0 x 80070057, 80004003 0 x, 0 x 87160129.  When I tried to save this morning using "burn dvd" setting, error 0 x 80070057 appeared, only 12 frames of the film have been affected and only image was the same as the previous night, but with a different error than before.  When I previews savings B4 film everything seems ok, I tried to save at least 5 times, but noted only error codes / affected executives in the last 2 times. But it seems that concerned executives continue to change.  Would appreciate any help.  Thank you very much

  I'm guessing that you are running Movie Maker 2.1 on Windows XP?

  There is a good possibility that some of your source files (photos.
  video clips, audio clips) are incompatible or corrupted.

  Even if the project plays well in Movie Maker... which is not guaranteed
  It can encode the project in a video file.

  First... try the following...

  When ready to save it as a movie... go to...
  Tools / Options / Compatibility tab and uncheck the box 'all' filters.

  Following... record in DV - AVI format as follows:

  XP Windows Movie Maker 2.1...
  To save a DV - AVI movie file...
  (and other options)
  Type of... CTRL + P (or go to...) File / save movie file)
  to open the wizard movie recording.
  Choose... My computer.
  Next /.
  Enter a name and a location.
  Next /.
  Show more choices.
  Other parameters.
  Open the window of the droplet and choose... DV - AVI.
  Next /.
  Wait while the movie is saved.
  Finishing...

  If the steps above fail, the next task would be to convert
  video clips on the. Before you import into movie WMV format
  Audio Maker and convert to the. WMA format before
  import into Movie Maker.

• PS CC 2014 Move Tool Bug?

  After the update to the latest version of Photoshop CC 2014 patch, I noticed that the move tool does not work as it should.

  For this example, let's say there are 3 layers in my document.  The first layer is a background unlocked, 2nd and 3rd layers are small objects, say a circle and a square, respectively.

  I want to make my circle to a different location in my document, in order to make sure that my circle layer is highlighted, then click on my move tool to move it.

  Is where the problem begins: now, I make sure that my mouse pointing somewhere on the grounds of circle to move it all in now command or Option + command (depending if I'm duplicating it).  I used to be able to hover over what in my document.  I had no importance, as long as I wanted CMD key or Option, it would always move only my layers highlighted.

  Does make sense? If this isn't the case, I am able to specify if it is not explicit.

  iMac release 10.9.5 (Mavericks)

  Photoshop version: 2014.2.1

  I spoke (unnecessarily) with a person for help, but I've finally discovered that the developers know this topic and are currently working: Photoshop: move tool - select Auto Toggle shortcut changed.  They have known for at least a month, according to the timestamps on the pole.  Hope this is resolved quickly.
