First of all, I would like to say that I read this question and answer: http://goo.gl/MkSVA but I think I have a scenario different some - which may require a different response.

When I'm in a game and I want to leave a moment, I press Ctrl + ESC to get to my office. on most games, this doesn't cause any problems. On some games, when I'm on the desktop my icons have been moved. Running the game I play on the correct resolution.
My resolution is 1366 x 768, and I have a second monitor which is 1024 x 768. I think that the second screen resolution may be the cause of the problem.
    I am running Windows 7 64 bit.
When I unplug my second monitor, I can see the icons on my desktop get smaller so I know that the monitor is something the resolution of my laptop screen.

  • How can I prevent the desktop icons move arround whenever a different profile is open?

We have windows vista with 2 user profiles that are the main ones used.

How can I add/remove/move the desktop icons on my profile without moving/remove on the profile of other people?

What is the point of having 2 different profiles, so everything I do on my effects profile profile of others?

also is it possible to add/remove programs (games, downloads) without doing the same for the other profile of people?

    Hi JexterMaxim,

    1. what type of user accounts that you use?
    2. don't you log on as an administrator?
    3. don't you make changes to the agreement of the issue occur?

When you install a program, you will need to select the installation option in particular only to user accounts. Not in user accounts. You can try the following steps.

Desktop shortcuts are stored in one of two places:
    (a) in c:\Users\Public\Desktop. These shortcuts are shared and are visible to the user ever.
    (b) in c:\Users\UserName\Desktop. These shortcuts are not shared and are visible to the user.

When you right click on a shortcut, and then click general, then you can see where this particular shortcut is stored.

To make a shortcut of the group a) visible to yourself, do this method:
    a. drag the shortcut to the side with the right button of the mouse.
    b. Select "copy". You have now two seemingly identical shortcuts.
    c. delete the original shortcut.

  • Virtual keyboard rearranges the desktop icons

    Hello, everyone,

I have ACER Iconia W510 tablet and I am in love with her. It is the most useful computer I've had since the dawn of computers with machine mainframe IBM 360.

A few days ago I met a problem: whenever the virtual keyboard appears, he climbs all the icons on the desktop and makes a mess. It wasn't like that before - the keyboard did not affect the desktop icons. No doubt some update caused this change.

How can I return the tablet to its previous state or the DΘsactiver the virtual keyboard to move the desktop icons?

Hello, I just found the solution. The virtual keyboard has a button to the right for full screen or window. Full screen duration upped everything in his path.

  • Windows XP SP3: Unable to start, System Restore cannot drag and drop ALL the files/folders on the desktop and applications, many unable to start, services cannot search, cannot copy or transfer the any files folders...

After a recent power outage, my system has restarted with a weird and very common Windows problems range. The system boots fine, all my personal files/folders/apps are intact, have suddenly stopped almost all functions of applications, but many crucial functions of the Windows kernel. Everything seems to point to several Windows Services are unable to start (administrative tools on the start menu). I am running Win XP SP3 and that he was going to upgrade to Windows 7, but I wanted to backup everything in advance. As I have 29 000 hours on my C: drive and a lot of time invested in my system, files, and applications, I am extremely reluctant to risk losing my files and applications by performing any type of reinstalling Windows. Strangely, begin to almost all my apps and all my files are accessible for the most part, but I've lost the ability to drag and drop files, folders or items in a list within the applications COMPLETELY. I can't copy or paste anything, can't move the desktop icons (although I can create new files and folders). So at the moment I can't save anything or even a single file transfer to a hard drive on another storage medium. Immediate reaction: try safe mode and try the system restore safe mode has the same problems (likely due to the large number of system services that inexplicably refuses to start) and the system restore says an error window saying "system restore is not able to protect your computer at this time. try restoring the system running and restart again", which of course NEVER changes. It's the equivalent of getting a tire on your car in the middle of nowhere to find the spare tire flat and the missing Jack. I have used to be fanatical about the definition of the regular restore points, but now can not access them. I have backups of most of my personal files, but over years have lost most of the original installation CD for many of my applications (there are over 100 applications on my system) and I don't want to lose the file associations and architecture of directory tree that it took my so long to implement. I started with Win XP media center edition of first (circa 2004 or almost) and have migrated twice more of 3 hard disks and 2 computers. All this time (5 years of daily use), I have NEVER known so many malfunctions for as many Windows basic and vital functions at the same time. I tried a lot of 3rd party "windows fix - it / registry repair" apps, all have no effect. Everything I can speculate is there was some serious damage to the registry and have no idea how/why so many Services refuse to start. In MMC, more than half of the services actually start and run, the rest all give the error message "the service or dependencies is not start (error 1068).» In addition, very oddly, no. APPS or windows appear in the toolbar AT ALL, but the Quick Launch toolbar works very well, just like the tray button and start tasks (?! )!). If I reduce a window, it "disappears" (Nothing on the task bar), but I can restore it using the alt - tab keyboard shortcut to switch apps, so all applications/windows appear on the list of the Task Manager. A few apps is paralyzed bad, as the player windows media, itunes, etc. (I guess because the service windows audio can not not start), some won't start at all, but 90% of them work fine, except to try to copy or back up all files. I can create new files, however. I'm desperate to find a solution to repair XP3 Win WITHOUT losing my installed applications and files, before I try and switch to WIndows 7. Any help/suggestions/links/advice would be much appreciated. I'm an experienced user, but I've never met so many malfunctions based on the OS at a time. I, however, very painfully learned (years before that my system so complex) it's been almost a re-installation of Windows guarantees to lose my installed apps and files, the directory tree architecture associations.

    Help, please!

I'll be honest with you - your message is so difficult to read that I don't bother to go through all that. Next time consider using white space, ball or points numbered, etc. to make your message more readable. I stopped reading after your first sentence and only scanned the rest quickly. I do not mean to hurt your feelings; just trying to help you get targeted answers you need for the future.

The blackout has corrupted your Windows installation. Back up your data now. Since you have problems so much, it would be probably best is to remove the hard drive, put it in a USB drive enclosure and attach it to another computer to copy the data OR start the target with Linux Livecd such as Knoppix system and copy the data to an external hard drive. IOW, do not use the damaged windows to try to get your data.

You can try a repair that will leave your programs and facility data intact, but with this widespread bribery, it is unlikely to work. However, it takes only a few minutes and is so worth a try. If the repair facility does not work there is nothing to do, but a clean install. And Yes, it will mean that over again.

Consider buying a UPS to help prevent future damage by power outages. For a single computer, you should look for one in the area of $60 to 80. A more expensive UPS is not necessary. Another good disaster recovery strategy is to buy an external hard drive and Acronis True Image. You can image your system (and can make an incremental backup image so that your image is still current). You can apply your image and be back running that you were in relatively few minutes after a hard drive or Windows to fail.

  • We need notifications for email and messages on the desktop

    Hello

I just found out how to see the notifications, but I don't think they are convenient.

Is it possible to receive notifications on the Destkop? It would be nice to have a counter of unread for example emails and a message counter.

Thank you all for Firefox OS! I love this OS.

    Best wishes

    Hol

    Hi joseph.vidal.rosset,
I'm glad to hear you like Firefox OS! I understand that you want to move the desktop notifications. Currently, there is no option to customize notifications.

I don't know if there's an app on the market that do that, but you can change all notifications to not appear on the home screen of the setting menu by pressing the Notification. In order to change notifications for new e-mail, tap e-mail account on the three bars on the left menu, click on the gear and then click the name of the account. From there on, there will be an option to disable the new e-mail notifications.

If you have any other questions on how to use Firefox OS, we are happy to help you.

  • How can move the indicated address browser on the left and to the right of the footer of mozilla in the add-on bar where is jused to be in previous versions as icon of Personas?

How can I move the address indicated when I point to a link on the page of the browser on the left and to the right of the footer of mozilla in the add-on bar where is jused to be in previous versions as icon or the weather icons of Personas?

You can install the following add-on to return some of the old features of the status bar. The module Bar must be turned on. The add-on will also stop the screening of the "tooltip" text of loading type State, and instead of it, show it in the bar of the add-on:

    • Evar-4-status: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/
    • After installation and reboot:
      • Open the Customze window (Firefox button > Options > toolbars OR view > toolbars > customize OR ALT + V + T + C OR right click in the empty space at the end of the tab bar and select Customize)
      • While customize window is open, drag 'Text State' (the URL for loading, as you mentioned), "Progress meter" and "Download Status" in the window customize to the bar of the add-on in order and the position that you want to display. Then click on the button "Done" at the bottom right on the window customize.

  • Why the desktop icons all move to the left of the screen on any update?

I place all the icons of the convenient positions, not on the grid. But whenever I do any upgrade of Microsoft or others, all icons move to the left side of the screen, sometimes on the grid and sometimes not, sometimes restart and sometimes not. I'm really tired of having to move all icons when this happens. I even tried locking icons on the desktop, but that does not work either.

    .

Make sure that the reorganization is not selected when you right-click on the desktop. That said, you can still see this problem if you do not have to line up on the grid.

This tool will make your icons back where they were if there is no other resolution.

How can I lock you the desktop icons so that they change their position? I use windows 7.

    Try this:

Right-click on an empty area of the desktop (not on an icon).

In the menu that appears, move your mouse over "display".

Is there a check mark next to "reorganization automatic icons? If so, click it to remove the check mark.

  • The desktop icons move after reboot

    original title: the desktop icons

I have Windows 7 and when I manually move some icons on the left side of the screen to the right of the screen... they stay there.  I entered the office properties and click on the appropriate buttons.  Everything's fine until I restart the computer.  The strange thing is that only a couple of icons that were positioned on the right side are now on the left side.  I and then pull them to the right and everything is OK until the next reboot and we start over again.  What I am doing wrong?

    Thank you

    Tom

    Hi tom sk,.

Thank you for using Microsoft Windows forum.

Check if "Auto Arrange icons" is enabled.

If so, uncheck it and move icons, restart the computer and check.

Your Antivirus software could be parasitic. Try temporarily disable you security software and check.

If the problem persists, install a third-party program in windows that govern funds layout and positions for your that you can restore it later.

  • Move the icons?

Is it possible to customize the icons and the order of the icons in my taskbar (the bar at the bottom of the screen), on different workstations and tasks?

Looks like a very basic thing in order to make icons for the applications you use the most and put them where he takes the least amount of gestures to access.

Specifically, I want to remove the web browser Firefox to my taskbar. I would like to have my taskbar: phone, Email, SMS, calendar, Contacts

It seems not be a way to get there. Am I missing something?

Well, I have to press and HOLD the icon I want to spend longer that I cared about her. Now, I've arranged as I want.

FYI - I was able to move icons between screens just by holding and dragging, assuming that there is the icon on the screen, to that I tried to move the space.

I wish there was a way to remove the mandatory apps without having to modify the code and recompile the everything myself. I'm not a programmer. At least, you should be able to hide things you don't want to see.

  • I want to move the icons on my toolbars, but...

Day of God at all. I know how to display the toolbar add-on, and I know how to create a new
toolbar. That's the problem. Several icons on the toolbar add-on are locked in place. I had
wanted to move the icons, but can't. Why the icons would be locked in place? Is there a way
    to unlock?

If they are locked then it means that the extension that adds these buttons you cannot customize the buttons.

You can check these preferences settings (options) to see if it is possible to do it this way.

If this isn't the case, then you are out of options.
