  Hello! I have a problem with windows live movie maker. I had been using windows live movie maker before and was able to make several projects already.  But recently I could no longer open my files and the following messages keep appearing on: "Windows Live Movie Maker has stopped working.  A problem caused the blocking of the program works correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.  I downloaded the Windows Live Movie Maker program several times, but it does not work.  Does this mean I can have deleted a file/program to do work and recover all the projects I've done?  I remembered that once, I was removing a "Windows Live" in the program folder files because I wasn't happy with the Windows Live Messenger, kept popping up, which was not able to use, so I removed it from the list. • Windows Movie Maker has stopped working and will not save

  I used Movie Maker for some videos and they all worked without any problems. This one I edited without any problems, but when I go to save it I get an error message that says that "windows live movie maker has stopped working". My film is not as long, only four minutes, and it has music, a .wav file and text. My video files are AVCHD.  I tried to remove the text and music, but it does not export again. I also tried a clean boot, but that doesn't work anymore.

  (2) what is the format of the file, which you try to publish a movie?

  Windows Movie Maker comes pre-installed with Vista, and according to the guidelines of your error message, I would say that you have Vista.

  1 - is the full error you get when you try to import the file?

  Some of the Mp3 files can be compressed in various formats. I suggest that you search information below and check out them if you are able to import the files.

  It might be possible that the file may be corrupted and is not readable by Movie Maker. I suggest that you copy the file to a different location on your computer and you are trying to import.

  Also check the size of the file. If it shows 0 bytes, there are good chances that the file may be damaged.

  I suggest that you try to convert this file to avi format using an Audio Converter. There are several converters which helps you convert the file in the required format. Convert the file and try to import.

  You can use your favorite search engine to find the program that will help convert the files.

  1. Add the video file.

  2. on the home tab use Add music to add music to the full clip.

  3 move the vertical slider on the film to where you want the music to stop.

  4. on the Edit tab, select Split.

  5. now, using mouse cursor select just the audio running along the top of the video AFTER your split point.

  6. press delete on your keyboard.

  You could also do it by reducing the volume of the section of audio after the split to zero.

  OK, I'll try to uninstall / reinstall again (did not the first time), but when I went in the box to add / remove programs again once, I noticed the option repair, so I tried instead.  It worked!

  Not sure, but have you tried to reinstall WLMM, or perhaps fix?

  Also, make sure that your graphics card and your PC sound card drivers are up to date. Go to the manufacturers technical support for your PC brand and model site and see if there are newer drivers supported. If there is, and the repair does not help, try them. Make a restore point on your PC first, and if you like you should be able to "roll back" to your existing installation if you need to.

  You can also try a SFC/scannow to see if that detects and repairs problems of any OS if the above does not help.

  More than likely you are using one or more sources
  files that are not completely compatible with Movie maker.

  Several formats are apparently compatible with film
  Machine, but the most reliable choices are:

  Photos - bmp
  Video - wmv or dv - avi
